Hatch earns strong reviews for genuinely improving sleep routines with gentle sunrise alarms, soothing white/brown noise, and kid-friendly light cues, but app glitches, Wi‑Fi dependence, and paywalled content frustrate users. Reviews of Hatch highlight sleek, minimalist design and reliable nightly use across years and households, while noting intermittent audio dropouts, limited free sounds, and finicky tap controls—making it effective yet imperfect.

I have the Hatch Restore for my bedside table and the Hatch Mini for my toddler's room and travel. I didn't do 5 stars because I think that the app can be tough to learn to use for some people. The product itself is quality and has been so wonderful for my sleep routine and for my toddlers. There is a subscription, you don't have to subscribe to use the item itself, but it allows you to access a lot more content, when you have multiple devices, it makes sense to pay for it.

The cost of the subscription could be a turn-off for some.
I have the original hatch and have had it for 6 years. this is one of the best purchases I have made for my nighttime and morning routine. I use the red sunset feature as red light therapy for nighttime
I am insanely obsessed with my hatch restore 2. I’ve owned it for a year and a half, and it has been a game changer. I love the sleep sounds, especially brown noise which sounds exactly like a box fan. The sunrise is also an amazing feature that helps me gradually wake up with the light instead of being jolted awake with an alarm. I’ve never subscribed to the paid version of Hatch and it still has all the features I need for a deep, restful sleep and easy wake-up. Aside from the features, I love the minimal look that goes perfectly with my bedroom decor.
Bought for my daughter when she was pregnant. She loved it. My grandson also did. Highly recommend

Have been using the Hatch Rest since my first babe was born in 2018. I love them and think they are a great product - I have two now and they've since changed the charging from a USB to something else - the USB port became a little flimsy and damaged after use with time. Just had to retire our first one- the second is going strong. I can imagine the first would have held up better without the abuse of two toddlers but I do love the sound machine & wake up light functions.
My baby is now 4 and we still use it EVERY night. We take it with us when we travel. It is a MUST for any parent!
I first bought the Hatch noise machine for when I had a baby and LOVED it (my child—now a toddler, still uses it). I love that it can play different noises (personally a fan of the ocean or the thunderstorm noises) and that it has a light. When my child was an infant, it was nice to have a little light without a super bright one when doing nightly diaper changes/feedings. I also love that I can control it from phone, especially now when my child sleeps in late I can gently wake him up by reducing the noise, changing it to something more alert (like the chirping birds), and turning on the light in increments. We loved it so much that we ended up purchasing one of the adult sunrise machines. I personally think this is amped up to be a bit more than what it actually is.. but, still a fan. I think the mobile app/configuration of the clock is a bit more difficult mainly because you're setting 'routines', it also is a bit glitchy.. However, I love that the clock has a sunrise light. I have an alarm in the mornings that starts 30-minutes prior and gently turns on the light/noises so it's a gradual wakeup rather than something blaring. I would recommend to anyone. I also buy it for all my friends/family expecting little ones!
We have the hatch for our sons room and has been one of the products we’ve used since birth to now two years old! Zero complaints - love!
Ended up buying two of the older models (one died and we replaced it) on the recommendation of a friend and sleep consultant. It was great at home. Stressful when travelling to connect to the wifi, reset, start over. Especially as inevitably we would get somewhere late or be in a hotel where the wifi wasn’t directly linked but through a third party app. The new model looks more sleek and seems to have better battery life.

The best night light, clock, bed training (get out of bed= green// stay in bed= red) sound machine tool I ever found. Will recommend to all parents everywhere
I love our hatch sound machine. We bought it right before having our daughter and it has been amazing for helping her go to sleep and stay asleep. Also the fact that you can control it from your phone through the app is a huge plus! I always switch it from the music to rain once she is fully asleep from the app. She also loves playing with it because the top has a touch function and changes colors and sounds when tapped :).

The app can sometimes have trouble connecting or be a little slow. It’s also a bit inconvenient that it can’t remember your internet network after you disconnect so you have to fully connect again and enter passwords. Can be annoying if you are taking weekend trips for example and always needing to reconnect when you get home. The chord also is a little finicky and has to be in the exact right place plugged in or else it won’t charge. I wrote hatch about this though and their customer support was amazing and offered to send another chord right away. Overall would still highly recommend because it’s been great for our daughter but definitely has some room for improvement.

Must have for anyone with a kid. Works perfectly and looks great in a room.
I have the Hatch Rest sound machine since my baby was born 2 years ago and still love it. Now I use it to teach him when to get out of bed depending on some colors we taught him to recognise. Good investment. Good quality. Easy to control with the app.

Maybe additional sounds or an api with Calm app to get some sounds from them?
The alarm clock has customizable sounds and sunrise settings. I have also used this as a night light. There is some room for improvement with the app - setting or deleting an alarm can be slow and it would be nice to have a feature where the nighttime routine automatically turns on.
I like having the Rest+ in our son's room knowing the machine will continue to play even if we have a power outage and we can move it around if needed. The mobility was especially helpful when he was still sleeping in our room (bassinet) at night and taking naps in his crib/nursery during the day. It was easy to move and held a charge for long periods of time. We first got the Rest+ 2nd Gen for our son's room and loved it so much we got the Rest for our room. We did not need the mobility and charging functions for our room so just stuck with the basic Rest and are happy with it!
I like my hatch alarm clock, but it’s all controlled from the app, and the point was to get my phone out of the bedroom. If I have to cha he my alarm, I have to go get my phone to do it. There are a good variety of free sounds and meditations, but I wish you could connect to other apps like headspace etc since some of my favorite meditations are on there. If there was a way to control it fully from the clock itself it would be a 10/10

This is our go-to gift for expectant parents. We own two and they've been fantastic! Love the range of sounds and colors.
I love my Hatch alarm clock, but it is very pricey and you have to pay for the app to use it, which I don’t love. Paying for a continued subscription to use an alarm clock is a bit much
The hatch 2 is great, I just wish it was an all inclusive deal instead of the membership add-on. I don’t use that feature but love the app controlling capability. Gets loud enough to get the job done and love that it’s touch-operated.

The grown-up Hatch, while pretty, was disappointing. Its app was super laggy too.
