Hatch earns strong reviews for genuinely improving sleep routines with gentle sunrise alarms, soothing white/brown noise, and kid-friendly light cues, but app glitches, Wi‑Fi dependence, and paywalled content frustrate users. Reviews of Hatch highlight sleek, minimalist design and reliable nightly use across years and households, while noting intermittent audio dropouts, limited free sounds, and finicky tap controls—making it effective yet imperfect.

  • This thing is honestly amazing! My daughter loves the changing colors for the lights and the stories are honestly so relaxing. You can customize your own “playlists” so that if you want to build a bedtime routine this makes it so easy.

  • I found this incredible alarm clock at TJ maxx a while back for the best price ever. I use it every night for meditation before bed incorporating the different sounds and lights to help ease extreme anxiety at night. It’s one of the best choices I have ever made for myself. I also set an alarm to wake me up in the mornings in the most beautiful calming way.

  • I love this product - the app is a little annoying to use but I love the vibes and mood the various colors, music, etc do when I am winding down for the night. I absolutely HATE that it (like everything else) requires a $50 YEARLY subscription plan. I paid $200ish for this device, I should not be paying $50 a year to use the "cool" but not innovative features.. and I am not!

  • We love our Hatch. We have purchased countless (seriously) sound machines for our kids for home and travel. This one is great, it makes a nice low rumble for white noise. I love the schedule function, but find it a bit cumbersome. I also don't really like that you can't do much without using the app. Otherwise, 90% of the time it works like a charm.

  • Absolutely love my restore alarm clock! Have been using it now for about a year and a half to two years. The fact that it can wake me up while not giving me a total heart attack is amazing lol I hate waking up from loud alarms and this prevents that!

  • We have a Hatch sound machine in each bedroom in our house. We initially got hooked when we had our first born 6 years ago. The ease of adjusting everything from your phone is ideal and ensuring the light be red at night and green in the morning has helped our toddler know when to get out of bed. The app is easy to use but if you choose not to go that way the buttons on the machine is easy to navigate as well. ALSO the toddler lock is brilliant at 5 am!

  • i really enjoy my hatch restore 3. it makes getting up in the morning much easier and calmer. i think that it is a good investment if you struggle with waking up early or want to upgrade your alarm clock

  • I've had my Hatch 2 for 18 months now and I love and hate a lot of things about it. Overall, its a great alarm clock and white noise machine. The white/green/brown noise options are especially helpful if you live in an apartment and need to block out neighbors while you sleep. The sunrise wakeup function is similarly great and wakes me up most of the time before the alarm sound does. The biggest cons I have are the subscription, the app, and the consistency of the machine. Most of the apps best functions are hidden behind a subscription fee and can only be used if you have the app. You can't program the clock without the app and it isn't very intuitive. I've also had issues across multiple hatches with the sound suddenly stopping in the middle of my night routine. This also may sound silly, but if you are like me and use a sleeping mask, skip this alarm as it loses its main function!

  • The subscription is not truly optional: Without it 1) there are no colors in the amber range, only red (blue and green are not good for sleep), and 2) if you turn the alarm off, you cannot turn it back on unless you subscribe. Their AI chatbot was not helpful, the support number on the website is not operational, & email support was slow to respond, then not helpful.

  • I love my Hatch its my warm cozy side bed clock that give me the best wake up call in the morning.

  • Between my morning chronotype, SAD, and working EST hours in the Midwest, I find “sunrise” alarm clocks super useful. I have been using a cheaper knock off and decided to use a health and wellness budget on the Hatch Restore 3. Pros: Prettier looking aesthetically than my knock off brand Light colors (rainbow and sunrise settings) White noise for sleep Cons: The app is kinda clunky/hard to navigate for me, so choosing sounds is hard I don’t love the “routines” function in the app Fee and Subscription based app/services for “hatch plus” for certain sounds and lights. If I didn’t have a health and wellness stipend, $175 for this PLUS a subscription fee feels really pricey and I would have just kept with my “ugly” knock off.

  • I absolutely adore the Hatch Restore 3. It has revolutionized my sleep and wake-up routines. The sunset feature gently encourages you to unwind before bed, while the sunrise feature helps me wake up earlier and feeling more refreshed. The only downside to this device is the subscription model. Considering its price, a non-subscription option would have made it an almost perfect purchase.

  • I have been using my hatch alarm clock for over 2 years now. While my free subscription has expired, I still find uses for my clock multiple times a day. My saved routines saved even after the subscription ended so I enjoy my bedtime wind down routine as well as my morning alarms and news debrief. I also have a routine for studying focus lights and sounds while I work. When not in use my restore 2 practically blends into my desk setup which is nice as well. I recommend this to any friends that often use their phone for annoying alarms as well as nighttime sleep sounds.

  • Gentle wake-ups and the wind-down light make a big difference in my sleep. The sounds are calming, and I like being able to customize the whole routine. Worth it if you want to unplug from your phone. It wakes me up without startling me.

  • We have the Rest+ sound machine for our nursery. It's really easy to customize different settings, and we use it for our before bedtime winddown and while she sleeps. The colours are great and the perfect brightness for middle of the night feeds, and it's nice to have so much control over the volume. It's conditioned me now and I miss having it in our room now that she sleeps in her own space. Pro tip - red light is not as stimulating as white or blue!

  • IDK what I'd do without my Hatch alarm. Every night, it serenades me with the gentle sound of ocean waves. I wake up almost expecting to see the sea and drink coffee while looking at dolphins. Also, Hatch doesn't just wake me up; it gently coaxes me back to consciousness. I can't believe I used to have a jarring alarm that made me question my will to live; no wonder I'd wake up crabby in my teen years. I am so hooked on my Hatch that I bought the portable one for babies for myself when I travel because I can't be without it. My only wish is that Hatch would integrate with Alexa!

  • Hatch has amazing customer service and offers so many app features. In addition, the alarm itself is pretty to look at and works so well. The sunset light and gradual alarm sound helps me to wake up peacefully, and I love being able to customize everything.

  • Waking up feels gentler with this clock and I like the soothing sounds and light. The app could be easier to use and sometimes feels buggy but overall it has made my mornings much better. I didn't think I would like it, but I absolutely love it.

  • I love my hatch! I have had it for years and it really does make waking up easier. I do think the product cost is a little unnecessary considering there are a lot of “dupe” products on the market that seem to work just as well.

  • I love just about everything with my hatch. The rain sounds are continuous, so I don’t wake up in the middle of the night when I hear them cycle. And the baby hatch has the perfect amount of shushing so I don’t have to do it myself. The new baby hatch also has the shushing so I did in fact upgrade as the second sound machine in my daughter’s room.
