Crown Affair earns largely positive reviews as a luxe, effective haircare brand with standout tools and treatments—especially The Towel, The Oil, the Leave-In Conditioner, Dry Shampoo powder, and boar-bristle brushes—while criticisms focus on strong fragrance for some, inconsistent results with certain formulas (e.g., mousse, dry shampoo for oily hair), and high prices. Reviews cite elevated packaging, thoughtful design, and long-lasting products, but note occasional issues like messy dry-shampoo packaging, brush cleaning, scent intensity, and a few durability concerns.

  • Love this product!!!! It adds volume and is lightweight, it helps to define my waves and make also make it look curly. I love that it’s easy to apply to the hair after towel drying and allow it to work its magic as my hair dries.

  • After some research on the best dry shampoos, I was excited to try the Crown Affair’s version. It comes in a beautiful jar with a brush that’s sort of crescent shaped, so that when you apply it you can kind of dab it onto your scalp/part and it feels like it’s really getting in there. You do have to shake and mess with the jar a little bit to get the powder to come out. It smells great and actually works really well. And as always - the gorgeous packaging is chefs kiss 💋

  • I really like this mousse for a quick styling for wavy/curly hair. It is not crunchy when dry. I wish the price was lower. I also had a travel size version (pictured) which is convenient for quick styling when traveling or on the go.

  • The towel is expensive, but my hair has never dried faster! I have the longest hair I’ve had in a while and it still dries my hair in 2 hours with just air drying. My hair is down to the middle of my chest, normal thickness.

  • Everything Crown affair does feels luxurious! The packaging is chic, the products smell great. The leave in conditioner has been a game changer for me as someone with thin, frizzy hair, especially in the winter. Combined with their hair drying towel, I've seen a marked improvement in my hair.

  • I'm beyond obsessed with everything I've gotten from this brand. I will absolutely continue to purchase from them and I'm looking forward to seeing the innovative products that are released next! I use the Volumizing Shampoo and the Hydrating Conditioner in the shower. The shampoo makes my hair feel so clean and adds volume without making it frizzy. The conditioner does as good of a job as some of the hair masks l've used before. I love using The Towel right out of the shower - it's big enough to cover all of my hair and thick enough to really make a difference in the drying process. After letting my hair sit in the towel for about 15-30 minutes, I like to run some of the Leave-In Conditioner through my hair with my hands. It makes my hair feel so soft without weighing it down like many other leave-ins. I then like to do the same with the Air Dry Mousse and scrunch my ends a bit. It adds texture without adding frizz. This is a game changer for those of us who don't like using heat. It takes a lot for products to become part of my regular routine, and ALL of the products l've tried have impressed me. Thank you, Crown Affair!

  • I have curly thin dry hair and have tried soooo many shampoos and conditioners over the years. So happy I’ve finally found Crown Affair. My hair feels thicker, has less frizz and the scent is so divine.

  • All time favorite hair care brand. My absolute hero product is the dry shampoo which I am constantly pushing on my friends and is the only dry shampoo I have found that works consistently, doesn't leave a white haze (once letting it work in), and doesn't make my hair feel stiff after using. The Ritual shampoo & conditioner duo is also my most consistently used shower product, with the hair towel after for easier drying process. I wish I could spray the hair fragrance everywhere, all the time (praying for the return of the Nette collab candle). Recently bought the new overnight repair serum and have been enjoying a lot, even if just for the smell. I think the hair oil is good, but have found other products that I like just a teeny bit more.

  • I love their mousse. It dries so soft, without any crunch. it gives my hair some nice waves and calms down some frizz while being light and not giving a "too much product feel" to my hair. Their hair towel is a must too!

  • Best new dry shampoo. Love that it is simple and easy to apply. It blends in very easily and smells great. It is lightweight so it doesn’t weigh you down a definite repurchase and gift for friends and family.

  • I looove the finishing gel! It smooths flyaways and gives my hair a polished look without feeling stiff or sticky. The best part is the scent, it smells so good, clean and fresh, which makes me want to reach for it even more. A little goes a long way, and it holds up well throughout the day. I’ve already repurchased because it’s become such a staple in my routine.

  • The quality of Crown Affair products is unmatched. My hair has never felt healthier, and the entire experience — from packaging to results — feels like a daily ritual. Each formula is lightweight but effective, and everything smells clean and luxurious without being overpowering. I especially love how intentional the brand feels — it’s more than just haircare, it’s a routine I actually look forward to.

  • I purchased "The Oil", Hair ties, and the "Dry Shampoo", and Brush no. 2 . I really love all the products. I feel the difference in my hair. The annoying thing about the brush is that it gets really dirty and dusty. It is rather difficult to clean. I asked the company the best way to clean and they sell a brush for it, but honestly its like a coating of dust.

The only improvement would be in the packaging of the dry shampoo. I wish the brush for the dry shampoo neatly fit in the container once used.

  • This leave in conditioner is an absolute dream! It smells amazing (if you have ever smelled MAC cosmetics perfume “Turquatic” this is exactly what it smells like! I have fine hair and it didn’t weigh my hair down or feel greasy after!

  • I love every product I have tried from crown affair and will keep buying their stuff for as long as the brand exists. The renewal mask and hair oil are nourishing and make my very long hair feel like silk threads without making it look or feel oily. The only negative thing I can say is that the brush used to have silver writing on the handle that said Crown Affair and it was rapidly rubbed off when I would use the brush while I still had a little hair oil on my hands. If they could seal the writing with something to better protect it then the products would be perfect. Also, the renewal mask smells incredible. If the brand ever makes a perfume in that scent I’ll be first in line to get it!

For ethical reasons I would love to see the brand make a faux boar bristle brush. I use the brush 002 with wooden pins and it does a great job of detangling and is easy to clean but it doesn’t smooth the hair down the same way boar and vegan boar bristles do.

  • I was really excited to order the shampoo and conditioner after having it on my list for a long time. First off, the packaging is great and it definitely feels more luxe than other nice haircare products I've used. The shampoo feels high-quality and leaves your hair kind of a high friction texture if that makes sense which means you really need to condition it. The conditioner is nice and goes on well. I used up the whole shampoo bottle and still had a bunch left in the conditioner. I wish brands would make smaller conditioner sizes so you run out at the same time, personally. Overall I enjoyed using this product but it didn't change my life and at the price point I don't plan to repurchase. In the past, I ordered the silk scrunchies from Crown Affair for my bridesmaid boxes and thought they were great.

The product is great but it's a bit too expensive for me to incorporate into rotation moving forward. I also wish there was more of a sustainability aspect to the packaging, maybe there is but I'm not aware of it.

  • I’m a big fan of the Crown Affair Air-Dry mousse. If you have wavy to curly hair, this is perfect for those days where you just want to air-dry and go! For reference, my hair type is 2b and medium thickness.

  • Have been on the hunt for a non aerosol dry shampoo to prolong between washes. I was attracted to Crown Affair's due to the brush applicator and because of my love for their shampoo and conditioner. After using the product for a month + I give this dry shampoo a ten out of ten. It does the job of soaking up oil, not leaving a residue, and easy to apply. Bonus points because it smells great too! I have been able to go longer between washing and it helps style my hair like a just washed vibe. Photo shows at least 4 days between washes!

  • I have crown affair’s scrunchie. After my hair stylist told me scrunchies are the only hair ties I should use, I quickly ordered the crown affair set. I enjoy the product but the disappointing part is that they stretch out really fast and they are pretty pricey for a pack of 3 - but you are paying for good quality material just wish they didn’t stretch out. I like to wear my hair ties on my wrist and I can’t do that with these because they stretch out so much.

  • Crown Affair came onto my radar a while ago from a newsletter I follow that reviewed a few of their products. Almost every product they tried was touted as "life changing", which sounds a bit too good to be true, but what caught my eye was their review on their Dry Shampoo. I've struggled since becoming a teenager with my fine and frizzy hair, and by two days after wash day I absolutely hate how my scalp feels that I have a hard time focusing unless I put it in a ponytail. Of course their products are more pricy than what I was used to, but I have now tried a few of their offerings and have some thoughts on each one: The Leave-in Conditioner: I won this and the following item in a raffle, so while I did spend some money on them I did not have to pay the full price. Despite having this product for a while I can't say I really know how to properly use it. My hair is so fine that I very easily use too much and it weighs it down. I did try using it at night recently and I think it helped with my frizz the following day. I don't have much experience with other leave-in conditioners, but I can tell this one is high quality and a little goes a long way. I should mention that this and the rest of their products have a signature scent. I really enjoy the scent and thankfully it does not bother me. The Towel: Their towel has my go-to whenever I wash my hair now. It does what it claims and helps dry my hair faster than it would on its own, and I love how it has an elastic strap to secure it in place, rather than a much smaller button and loop. My only complaint is it is bulkier than the turbans I bought for the same purpose. I don't have that much hair so my head towel does not need to be big at all! The Oil: I purchased the rest of my products in a bundle which saved me 15%, but honestly I struggled with picking this one as I am not sure if it would be a good idea for me. I went with it due to its very good reviews. The aim of the oil is to de-frizz and protect my hair from heat, but I felt like I had a bad wash day when I used it, as my hair was frizzier than normal. It told me to use only one drop for my fine hair which felt like too little so maybe I didn't use enough. Once again I don't really have much experience with this type of product so I don't know if I used it right but I wasn't very happy with the results. The Finishing Spray: Sadly I cannot review this one yet as the bottle I got was defective. Instead of a fine mist I could only get it to spray a sharp jet of liquid, even after troubleshooting it did not work. Which is not ideal for a hair spray, especially with my fine hair! Thankfully all it took was telling the Crown Affair team about my defective bottle and I am getting sent a new one! Love when customer service makes getting a replacement this easy. The Dry Shampoo: Finally, the product I had been waiting to try for a year or so. After trying a few dry shampoos I can tell when one is better quality but so far nothing had been able to stop my scalp from feeling gross after a few days (even when I double shampoo and don't use conditioner on my scalp). This one being a powder is pretty innovative, and it means there is a lot less waste which of course I love. It's also refillable! The scent of the powder is delightful like the rest of their products and it was easy enough to apply when I figured out how to get some of the powder out. While I definitely need to test it more, so far I think I am enjoying this product! I did not have that gross feeling day 2 or 3 after wash, which is an excellent sign. With any luck I have found the dry shampoo for me! Overall, it is clear to me that Crown Affair is a high quality brand with great customer service and innovative products. Of course not all products were perfect for me, and it is quite the expensive leap to take, but I am glad I was able to try out their products. One other design nitpick I have is that all of the clear bottles do not have instructions on the back. I find myself having to search up the product on their website or keep the paper packaging. I understand no instructions makes more a nice aesthetic, but I prefer convenience a bit more than aesthetic when it comes down to it! Also, it took several weeks to get the products, which is a bummer since I was excited to try them as soon as possible.
