Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Banza was not what I was hoping for. While on carb restricted diets I was hoping I would be able to eat Banza pasta on a carb free diet but the carb level is very similar to your basic pasta, it is a no go on Keto prepare to be disappointed.

  • Banza pasta is a really good guilt free pasta option. I absolutely get my carb craving fix from Banza. The texture is a littttttle bit different than standard pasta, but it’s a sacrifice that doesn’t make the experience unpleasant and is definitely worth it. After a few times of cooking it, you learn to get the cooking time and texture right. Definitely recommend for a pasta lover who wants some more nutritional benefits.

  • honestly chickpeas or not, this is one of my favourite dried pastas. yes to more protein!

  • I love chickpeas and I love pasta, so I thought this would be great! No, if you’re a texture person, these just don’t have that same mouthfeel. The texture is almost gritty and hard, so the swap isn’t worth worth it. If you try and do a baked recipe with these, they often break down. This would be great for a quick buttered noodle, but anything outside of that, I’d do something else.

  • I followed the box directions to a T and my elbow macaroni became a nasty pile of mush :-( Are some shapes better than others? I recall having Banza a long time ago and was shocked at how delicious it was and the texture was on point. did something change?

  • Enjoy the texture of the pasta and healthier, more nutrient dense profile vs legacy pasta products

  • So sadly I had some delivery issues with the frozen pizza Thingdrop, which I don't think is Banza's fault but I wasn't able to try them (a UPS issue). I have however had a lot of Banza stuff before, and I think it's pretty good! The pastas are protein-packed and keep you full. The texture is super al-dente when properly cooked, but not a big deal. It's still a great pasta alternative for something more nutrition-filled. Also as an FYI, the pizza 4 pack from the website directly is $53.99, but if you buy an individual one from the grocery store they are like $8-$10, so I find that odd...

  • The smoothest-texture bean-based pasta I’ve tried. While you can definitely tell it’s not a traditional flour pasta, it doesn’t taste too bean-y. I always go for this brand when I want a higher protein pasta option.

  • As far as pasta alternatives go, this isn't the worst, but it's still pretty bad. Gummy texture with a bit of an aftertaste that's difficult to get over.

  • Packaging is gasoline, it is sold in all the stores I like shopping in, it looks good, but the chew is just a little off for me personally. I probably overcook pasta to be honest but these is al dente no matter how long we boiling for so its just alright but to be honest we all just buy things because it looks good so I still have love the Banza fam and will likely buy still lol.

  • Great pizza and higher protein which makes me feel better about eating a whole pizza

  • The good! The pizza is a delight. The crust gets nice and crispy and there's just enough sauce and cheese. Felt like a really good snack pizza! I could tell it wasn't a normal dough pizza, but it was still super tasty. Would buy again! The bad: The delivery was less than stellar - I ended up with two shipments because of an error, and both times the boxes were crushed and wet from the bottom. And SO MUCH PACKAGING.

  • I was eating a lot of Banza before other bean/plant-based pasta came on the market. It's fine, but I've found others that feel less heavy and sit better in my stomach.

  • I absolutely love this brand. I have tried other gluten free brands and most of them taste pretty bland, but Banza products have so much flavor. I love the pastas, pizzas and rice products. These taste great and are good for you.

  • I am a big fan. As i have tried to move away from all that gluten and still like pasta, this brand really has nailed in. Every product is quality, delicious and predictable. I would try anything they develop and release (unless it isnt something id normally eat) but pasta, pizza, etc. You got me banza

  • I get the pasta from Costco (when they have it) and our family loves it. It's such an easy way to make a high protein meal without too many other ingredients. Sometimes I just make a sauce and we have it on the noodles because they don't need much more, they're very filling.

  • I love all things Banza. A tasty alternative that I reach for again and again!

  • I love the banza protein pasta! I feel like it tastes pretty similar to regular pasta and it’s a lot higher in protein content so we use it pretty much every time over regular pasta. The only issue with protein pasta is that the noodles sometimes get a little sticky, so I suggest running cool water over the pasta noodles after you cook them before you put the sauce on to prevent that.

  • I’ve never tried anything outside of the pasta- so I cannot speak to their other products - but the pasta is so yummy. Almost tastes nutty- so I love the flavors of the Banza when paired with my favorite sauce. Super easy to cook- but don’t be alarmed by the strange looking foam as the box says. Yummy and a much healthier alternative!

  • Not bad, I actually really like the pasta! It's best when you eat it fresh and a great way for vegetarians to sneak in more protein!
