Reviews mention

  • Comfortable high-waisted silhouettes
  • Reliable overnight leak protection
  • Breathable cotton fabrications
  • Discreet black absorbent lining
  • Controversial pfas-laden materials
  • Inconsistent, unreliable sizing
  • Bulky heavy-flow construction
  • Fragile seams and elastics

Thinx earns polarized reviews: many report it works—comfortable, leak-preventing overnight and on light-to-moderate days with stylish high-waist, boyshort, and thong options—yet significant concerns surface. Reviews cite PFAS scandals, inconsistent sizing and fit, lingering odor, limited absorbency and edge coverage for heavy flow, bulk in higher-absorbency styles, and durability issues like fraying elastics and seams.

  • They are sooooo comfortable and leak-proof! I toss and turn when I sleep, and these prevented any leaks until morning! No more middle of the night alarms! No more soiled sheets! Hooray!!!!!!!!

  • I was pleased with them I'm very picky with my bottoms and they definitely provided the comfort and for the most part the protection. I felt it could have been a bit more perfect given the price that's why I deducted a point and the sizing felt complicated for me between a small and medium on each of the four Styles I got. 2 full coverage panties and 2 thongs.

  • Life saving! The first couple of days when aunt flow is in town can be challenging with long flights and/or long meetings. Having Thinx coupled with the flex cup for instance can save me from a rough day. No one loves an overflow. Also great for overnight if you want to get comfortable and just rock your Thinx and a T-shirt.

  • I love Thinx! I was a bit unsure at first, thinking they would leak or perhaps feel uncomfortable but they are so comfortable and I've never had a leak problem. They initially seem a bit expensive but due to the fact that they are reusable and preventing waste from pads or tampons, it definitely becomes worth it. I've had the same pairs for a few years and they have held up amazingly. I also like their cotton styles, they are comfortable and breathable with no leaks or bunching or smells.

  • I liked the pairs that I got, they fit well and absorbed everything. But I found out recently that they are not made with healthy or sustainable ingredients and that upset me.

    Make them using better materials.

  • Really love this underwear! They are very comfortable and I feel good wearing them. I like that I buy a lot fewer one-time-use period products and these are easy to use and wash. I like that they come in different absorbency levels and you can choose which ones are best for each day of your period.

    Feedback

I do still buy some on-time-use period products as this underwear isn't always best when traveling or outdoor trips (limited access to washing clothes).

  • Period underwear is a game changer I like the thing variety of styles and their products work well and are well made! Mine have lasted for years.

    Feedback

Sizing consistency. Some run bigger / smaller than others.

  • Love the concept. I have a heavy, long flow so I don't really use them during the first 3 days of my period. I have yet to have any leaks when in use and their lounge shorts are comfortable to sleep in. It does feel like you are wearing a diaper especially the ones marketed for heavy flows. But I do feel more at ease when wearing them.

Be more upfront on how these products are made, especially on the chemicals being used. Listen to people that are having negative experiences and take them seriously if they are possibly having any weird symptoms that these products may be contributing to.

  • Love my period underwear -- I have a light - medium flow and the regular fit underwear is comfortable and does the job!

  • Love my Thinx. Can't quite believe how much waste I've saved since using them!

    Feedback

    Nothing.

  • I started using Thinx a little over two years ago. I now own 6-8 pairs. I appreciate that they give the ability to have a zero/low waste menstrual cycle. I've never had an issue with any break through. I'm impressed that after years of use they still function perfectly. I also like that there are multiple styles to chose from.

  • Got these for my teenage daughter and they worked well for her first few periods, but as her periods became heavier they leaked a little. She said they were comfortable though a little bulky, but still used them despite occasional leaks during the heaviest days. After a month of use and washing according to the directions they started to smell a little. Once we found out Thinx was sued for PFAS in the undies, she stopped using them. I was pretty disappointed as I’ve made it a point to steer clear of products using “forever” chemicals like PFAS and spend a fair amount of time researching products I bring into my home. The idea of these undies is liberating for women but the execution in this brand fell way short!

  • They run small. I usually wear a xl, that’s what I bought but when I put them on they fit like a medium.

  • Love the idea of period underwear and had been pleased with using my Thinx, but have since stopped as their products include PFAs (and I would rather not risk potential long-term health impacts from their use).

  • I’m obsessed with these. Since buying Thinx I haven’t bought period products in years. I feel great saving money and the planet (since it supposedly takes one sanitary pad 500+ years to decompose). Thinx are comfortable, leakproof, and so easy to use. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Normally Thinx runs a 50% off Black Friday sale, which is when I usually stock up.

  • I stocked up on Thinx a few years ago when I ditched conventional period products. I bought 3 pairs, and they've held up well!

    Feedback

I ordered smalls, and I'm normally a size 4, almost exclusively. I'd say these run a little small, and I probably wish I had mediums -- they seemed to shrink a little when I accidentally dried them in the dryer.

  • I purchased 4 different period underwear and have been using them for almost a year. They are not 100% leak proof, but for the most part very reliable. I wouldn't wear them on days when I am exercising or very active. While I do believe there's room for improvement, I love many things about the products. They are sustainable and durable, and reasonably stylish!

  • Amazing branding and marketing. I love the idea behind their mission. I wish their fabrics were drier, like 100% cotton. Because it doesn't feel as moisture wicking and I feel slightly insecure about the spillage on the sides. I wish material stayed dry on all products, pretty much. I tried their sleep shorts and they were alright.

    Feedback

Better material. Dry material. More moisture wicking please.

  • I own a pair. I liked them -- past tense. Then I found out they contain PFAS chemicals. Go for a brand that doesn't, of which there are many.
