Thinx period underwear is appreciated for its fun designs, comfortable fit and good absorbency, especially for medium flow. However, issues like specific washing requirements, small absorbent area, feeling of dampness, and leakage during heavy flow periods are highlighted as weaknesses. Concerns about the presence of PFAS in the fabric and poor quality waistbands are also noted.

Messy and gross. Menstrual products are generally designed to limit mess, but these underwear constantly felt damp, couldn't wash/dry properly. They would also leak, and so are only appropriate for the last days of your period/spotting. I wish this concept could work, but it's functionally a reusable adult diaper.

I really want to love them, the concept would be great. my period is extremely heavy that i have to wear a pad with these on and I still bleed through. theyre okay for when you are spotting and have lighter days, but for the price I don't know if theyre the best investment. I still get rashes when wearing them, and I still go through at least 2-3 pairs a day.

I think the underwear is a good product for periods for soakage but the waistbands are horrid. 10 out of 10 pairs have a broken and frayed band after a year.

These are okay. I've been using Thinx for several years now as a tampon back up, but I don't trust them to contain my flow. They seem to spread beyond the edges even with styles that are designed to absorb more fluid.

I was pleased with them I'm very picky with my bottoms and they definitely provided the comfort and for the most part the protection. I felt it could have been a bit more perfect given the price that's why I deducted a point and the sizing felt complicated for me between a small and medium on each of the four Styles I got. 2 full coverage panties and 2 thongs.

They are sooooo comfortable and leak-proof! I toss and turn when I sleep, and these prevented any leaks until morning! No more middle of the night alarms! No more soiled sheets! Hooray!!!!!!!!

If you are reading this you're probably wondering if period panties work. Answer: YES.

Probably one of the most useful new products I've started using in the last 5 years. I use the period panties during the night, and would never switch back to anything else. High-waisted models are the comfiest imo.

I used to love this brand. Had a lot of their period panties. But then I found out there was toxic materials in them and threw them all away. 

I have some cotton thinx in the shade of my body which is exactly the extra security blanket I need when wearing a white skirt or pants or dress on one of the later days of my period. It’s not super safe for the early days and I’ve had some leaks but that’s my bad because it does say on their website it’s only for lighter flow days. I recently ordered the super cotton pants in black and sleep shorts in grey and black and am excited to try them out :) big plus is that out of all the period underwear I’ve bought this one fits the best and is most comfy!

Edit: I love (!) the heavy flow thinx! I've been wearing them (cotton boyshorts and cotton sleep shorts) for the heaviest part of my period the last few days now and it still blows my mind that it feels nothing like when wearing a pad. You know when you can feel everything down there and you're just like "where on earth is the closest bathroom I hate this?" It doesn't feel like that at all, I don't even notice that I'm on my period when I wear these. The one disappointing instance was when I tried wearing the boyshort overnight (I only bought two sleep shorts so I thought on the third night I'll just use a boyshort since I usually don't have much flow at night anyway) and unfortunately due to me moving around it did leak through the sides (luckily not onto my sheets but onto the outside of the boyshorts) - but I guess that's my lesson to only use the sleep shorts to sleep. Overall - 9/10, still a big big fan! Will purchase more :) 

I'm giving Thinx 2 stars because I really liked the product (functional, eco friendly, easy to use) but with the PFAS controversy (the underwear may or may not contain the harmful substance) I haven't worn them since. I wish the brand would put out information debunking the claim if it doesn't contain PFAS.

the seams of the underwear dug into my thighs, which made them uncomfortable to wear. after one wash, i noticed that they lost their shape and the elastic wore down.

It's a shame they contain forever chemicals because I found them to be so useful :(

I used it only on heavier days, which made my first few days comfortable. I'm used to handwashing and I didn't have an issue with washing it. After a couple of years, I noticed they don't work as well as they used to, and recently I found out they have PFAS chemicals... which made me really sad. I switched over to The Period Company's washable period panties and it's been a good alternative.

My flow is pretty heavy and I have constant paranoia during my cycle. I bought thinx specifically for Machu Picchu (backpacking four days) and wow, when I say it held up and I didn’t have to worry about anything on the trek speaks words. It’s been a year and it has transformed the way I go about my cycle.

I'd been buying their products for my teen. I recently purchased a few more but newer ones don't have lining. I'm very disappointed and won't go back.

I’ve used mine for years and still use their very first generation and find them practical although they feel a bit like diapers. I change them up with cups and can’t go back to liners or tampons.

Love the idea. Wasn't a huge fan of them as an actual product. I felt like I could never get them clean, and they started fraying pretty quickly. 

When I first got these I was so excited about not having the use a tampon or pad at night. I was worried that I would feel like I would have a diaper on, but it really doesn’t. Unfortunately new research has come out that says there are PFAS in Thinx and there was a huge lawsuit. Wouldn’t use them again

I wish they had something like this when I was in high school. However, the PFAs lawsuit is really a letdown and the reason I can't recommend them to others.  The concept is amazing but the execution is lacking.
