Stitchfix reviews show the service works for many users as a convenient, occasionally inspired personal-styling service: reviewers praise easy returns, helpful stylists, and wardrobe-building wins but also report inconsistent fit, uneven styling, and variable quality. Buyers who want curated basics and convenience find it useful; picky shoppers face hit-or-miss selections and durability concerns.

Despite 3 attempts at getting a box for my husband the assortment did not meet his style or his correct fit. Disappointed as I've seen other people have such great experience with it.
The styling just doesn't work for me. I've tried the box twice because I've been very short on time and figured maybe Stitchfix could rescue my wardrobe - but never discovered anything worth keeping. It really also takes a lot of the fun out of shopping I think; the browsing, inspiration, exploration, personality etc. I'm not sure I'm the right customer for Stitchfix after all..
I've used it a handful of times, and it was so hit or miss! Sometimes I loved every piece, and other times I HATED everything. Also I had a different stylist each time, which I didn't love.
I've ordered several boxes from StitchFix and I find it really hard to get stylists to listen to feedback. I often get the exact thing I say I don't want. If you just want a box of random stuff, it can be a fun surprise. But I've had too many troubles with stylists for it to be worth it.
Overall, styles were ok in terms of matching what I normally wear day to day (I started a subscription during Covid) and love the overall business idea. I only used my subscription a few times before cancelling just as I felt I could just buy the clothes on my own.
I use StitchFix for my husband and he typically keeps 3+ pieces in each Fix. They do a pretty good job of reviewing your style picks and notes to match the user with pieces that will work. It's also helped him to get out of his basic outfit routine and try some new items. It's a very useful resource for someone that doesn't want to think about fashion or invest time in finding the right pieces. The quality of the items in each Fix have been good and generally work well with the pieces in previous Fixes to help build a wardrobe.

Sometimes the system doesn't pick up on notes. We mentioned several times we did not want any Henley tops and the stylist kept selecting them. But, we were able to reject them before the Fix was shipped - so crisis averted.
I didn't love using Stitchfix, I think a lot of the pieces are a bit too basic as they have to appeal to a wide audience and I like to wear quirkier, more eclectic things. My coworker, though, who hates shopping and is totally lost when it comes to pairing clothes finds Stitchfix super helpful. Maybe better for guys like that?
Just ok. Prefer wantable
I've tried this once and I think it's a great value. The packaging is really nice and it feels like I was getting a present. The quality was good and it's such a relief that it helps you with the styling because it can be so overwhelming to pick sometimes
Stitch Fix is a great idea in theory — personalized styling delivered to your door sounds like a dream for anyone short on time or energy. But in practice, it falls flat if you have any real sense of personal style. The selections often feel generic, like they’re made for people who don’t really know what they like or just want to avoid thinking about clothes altogether. The stylists rarely seem to take feedback into account, and most of the picks tend to push Stitch Fix’s own in-house brands, which feel more about margins than style. It’s convenient, sure — but not exactly for anyone looking to build a wardrobe with taste or intention.
Excellent service- so great that I had to cancel. They dialed me in and kept sending me clothing that I could not refuse. Their customer service is awesome. Each time you receive a shipment you can return whatever you don't want and only pay for what you keep. If you don't keep anything there is a small fee. On the items you return you can say why you didn't keep it (style, size, fit etc). After about 3-4 shipments I got to where I was keeping the entire shipment because I loved everything. They also entice you with a hefty discount if you buy everything in the shipment. I will definitely be resubscribing.
Feedback
The clothes are kind of low quality, and the styling was 50/50 in terms of whether it actually matched my style each shipment.

Great idea but not well executed . Too costly. Hard to manage. Subscription is not easy to cancel.
Used to have amazing brands
I think the return process is extremely easy, and that really makes all the difference. I wasn't too blown away by their selection, though. I liked my stylist, but I ended up interested in almost none of what I was sent. It could be a pretty good thing for someone who needs basics or has a very classic style, but maybe I am just too picky for it to work for me.
I love the idea of StitchFix and it mostly sent myself and my mom cute clothes, but some pieces were very different style wise from the others. Shipping is easy and their platform is easy to navigate.
I was a little reluctant to order from here, I had no idea what to expect. You fill out a style page indicating what you like out of the options provided, give them your type of shape, sizes, likes and dislikes. I received my first box and was pleasantly surprised. There was a pair of Democracy jeans, not something I would ever purchase, and I love them, I’m pretty sure that was the only item I kept. I didn’t like the tops at all, I hated the material and the way they looked on me. You only pay for what you keep and you send the rest back. When the second box came I did not not keep anything and canceled my subscription after that. I didn’t think it was quality clothing and the prices they charged were very high. You can definitely get the same thing for less money elsewhere.
I have had both great boxes from stitch fix and also boxes where I feel like the stylist did not even read my requests or comments. Regarding the clothes I have kept from stitch fix, I have had for a long time and still receive compliments. However, I had to slow down or specifically schedule deliveries for when I really needed help to freshen up my wardrobe because most of the deliveries resulted in full returns of all clothing. I would go back to stitch fix once a year if I really needed help finding a specific type of clothing item or for a specific event.

This brand would be most helpful for people who do not like to shop around, need to make style changes and can afford to take chances on their box deliveries working for them both in fashion and size. There were some items, I would have loved to keep if they did not send the wrong size. Managing the subscription was super easy and they have great customer service.
The clothing is interesting, but not anything that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. The algorithm takes a couple tries to get things correct and even then it's a hit or a miss.

Pricing, quality of item. Some items that are priced higher due to brand are about the same quality as something I could buy for cheaper. Also more eco friendly packaging would be nice.
I used Stitchfix for two of my kids (both for a boy and a girl). For the boy (10 years old) everything chosen by the stylist was cute, comfortable and appropriate price-wise. For the girl (11 years old), the same clothes were sent three times in a row. The color of the shirt or leggings were different, but the style was exactly the same and the fabric was the same. The girls items were low quality (not well made) and not worth the money.
