Sauz earns strong reviews for delivering fresh-tasting, uniquely flavored jarred sauces that many consider among the best they’ve tried, with standouts like Hot Honey Marinara, Summer Lemon Marinara, Wild Rosemary, Cracked Pepper Parmesan, and Creamy Calabrian Vodka requiring little to no doctoring. Reviews also flag notable drawbacks: certain flavors can skew too sweet, too spicy, or overly lemony/pithy, and several cite high calories and salt along with a consistently high price that limits repeat buys.

The flavors are so unique and bold and it's so creamy and rich. My personal favorite is the summer lemon marinara as the acidity cuts through beautifully. Miso garlic is such an umami and rich flavor as well. Can't wait to try all the other flavors - hopefully they're able to get the price point down a bit so that it could be more comparable to brands like Rao's.

Great sauce and bought frequently as stores

Most pasta sauce taste the same to me but SAUZ is honestly sooo good. I recommended it to my college friend who often cooks pasta at home because it's a quick and affordable meal and she said this is the BEST pasta sauce she ever used. Highly recommend trying this brand if you haven't yet!

Sauz sauces are my new go to for pasta sauce. They tastes so fresh and the flavors are unique. I’ve used them on pastas and on pizzas for a different, delicious flair. The combo pack allows you to try their different flavors. The lemon one is my favorite so far. I ended up buying three jars. The hot honey is probably my second favorite. They’re all so delicious.
So many different varieties and novel / exciting flavors. I’ve tried using Sauz on both pasta and pizza and both ways work really well. Being jarred sauces they of course help save a ton of time as well.
SAUZ is a game-changer! Their sauces are packed with flavor, and I love how versatile they are—perfect for everything from tacos to marinades. The ingredients are clean, and the taste is rich and authentic. Every bottle I’ve tried has been a hit! Definitely a must-have in my kitchen.
Our favorite is the Parmesan Cracked Pepper version! This sauce is not only excellent in taste, its ingredients are healthy and barely processed at all. I found this sauce at Target and continue to buy it.
I tried the rosemary sauce on a pizza and for pasta sauce. It really was flavorful, and high quality! I absolutely loved it. Wasn’t very acidic which I liked too
I loved my Sauz experience! Unfortunately for them, I'm pretty loyal to a certain brand that's been around and has the best marinara and is less pricey. But what I do appreciate is that Sauz is attempting flavors you are not used to seeing in a jar, which I think is smart and valuable to those who don't staunchly believe it's Rao's or nothing (it's Rao's. I'm loyal to Rao's). That said, I could totally be won over with the right flavor (my family complained the Lemon is too lemon-y and the Hot Arrrabbiata is too hot, but... they told us on the label), and I'm excited to see what's next.

Tried the summer lemon with spaghetti and zucchini. Was incredibly tasty. I was afraid it would be too sour or fake lemon tasting but it tasted very fresh. Different than any other pasta sauce I have ever had.

I made homemade pasta to go with the summer lemon marinara sauce and I ended up throwing out the whole dish. I found the lemon flavor and texture of the lemon pieces to be way too much. My husband who really loves lemon also didn’t think it was edible. After the lemon sauce I was hesitant to try the hot honey sauce but I ended up using it as pizza sauce and really liked it. I would purchase it again and would also try any future flavors the brand comes out with.

I've only tried the summer lemon marinara so far, but 11/10 for it! It's the perfect summer pasta sauce and will be repurchasing it. Shipping was quick, and the packaging was only cardboard, which is great to see.

This is the best! Highly recommend it!
It was good. I wanted it to be better. It takes a long time for things to make their way to Michigan so I bought this in Chicago because I could not wait any more. That might have led to my over-excitement. The taste reminds me of something from my childhood, I can't say exactly what it is.
I got the hot honey - was too spicy for me but really want to try other ones. I feel like I could still get a good flavor from it, but I won't get the hot honey again.
A nice change from all the sameness in the jarred tomato sauce aisle. The hot honey is really yummy, sometimes I add a touch of heavy cream

I bought this Thingdrop despite knowing that it was not much of a match for me. While I love pasta, easy to make dishes, and trying new things, both of the flavors the brand launched with made me weary. Those were the Summer Lemon Marinara and Hot Honey Arrabbiata (which is now called Hot Honey Marinara- I wonder if the name was redundant since arrabbiatas are always spicy, or if shoppers were confused by what the word arrabbiata meant). I am not a fan of citrus at all besides sweet lemon desserts and lemonade, and my spice tolerance is very low. But I absolutely loved the branding for Sauz and it was only two jars, so I figured I would give it a shot. I agree with what many others have said about the lemon marinara. As someone who does not like a strong lemon flavor, this was way too powerful for me, and I really struggled to eat it. Thankfully I was able to share a lot of the pasta I made with my grandfather, who did not seem to mind the flavor. As for the arrabbiata, I honestly had a similar experience there with the sauce being too strong for my liking. However, with this one I did like the flavor aside from the spicy aspect. If only it wasn’t spicy, I would probably try this one again (though as I am typing this, I do have some sauce left so I will have to suffer a bit longer). Both of these products are truly as advertised, though with the lemon marinara I do think there could have been a lemon flavor there without overwhelming the entirety of the sauce. Lemon can be good, but to me it must be in balance with other flavors to do so. If you check the website now, you will see they have two new flavors. I wish I could try both the Wild Rosemary Marinara and the Creamy Calabrian Voda sauces (even if this one I would probably regret trying too)! However, at $25 for two jars, that is a decent risk if you want to buy these online at regular price. The flavor and quality are definitely there, but for that price I would rather not risk buying more.

So delicious. The lemon marinara was my favorite, and the hot honey arrabitafa was very good as well. I love that they are a local LA brand. Will be ordering more!

I got Sauz during a Thingdrop because I loved their branding and am pleased to say that it tastes as good as it looks. The Summer Lemon Marinara might be my new go-to sauce. It had the perfect amount of lemony zing and I'm thrilled to see the minimal ingredient list when so many other jarred sauces are full of things I don't really want. THANKS SAUZ!

I generally prefer to make my own sauce but I couldn't resist trying Sauz when they did a Thingdrop a few weeks ago. I used both sauces to make the same dish (turkey meatballs and paccheri-- but on different days of course!) so I can really give them a solid side by side comparison. Hot honey arrabbiata thoughts: the hot honey arrabbiata was super sweet when baked in the oven with the meatballs because the sugars in the tomato and honey caramelized even further. When just tossed with pasta and finished with a tiny knob of cold butter it was really glossy and delicious. It is definitely sweet, so if you don't like that, definitely don't put it in the oven because the sweetness will only intensify. If you're a hot honey head, you're gonna love this. I think this would be great for dunking garlic bread in. Summer lemon marinara thoughts: this was SUPER lemony and I'm a big lemonhead who loves all things lemon. to me, it tasted a lot like preserved lemon. This did a great job cutting through the richness of pasta and meatballs but frankly I think I'd like it best as the base of a souped up shakshuka with lots of different veggies, harissa, and maybe lamb or halloumi. it's definitely giving more middle eastern and mediterranean flavors. it could also be nice on a pizza with a big handful of arugula on top. big glass o' white wine... yeah. Ingredients were good and simple, just how I like 'em. Loved the branding and visuals, there is probably no sexier sauce out there. Sauz, I hope you get on some more shelves in the NYC area! I loved this and though I *never ever* buy jarred sauce I would definitely add this to my basket at a Whole Foods or a Fairway. I don't feel totally awesome about ordering it online and shipping jars of sauce across the country in such a big box when I typically make mine at home, so I'm going to need that omnichannel distribution, please!
