I love the Merit Flush Balm! It’s a lightweight, creamy blush that gives my cheeks a fresh, natural glow. The color blends so easily, and the dewy finish makes my skin look healthy without feeling sticky or heavy. Perfect for a quick, everyday look.
I like how sheer this blush is and how easy it is to apply. It doesn’t stay on long, but it is really natural and buildable. Even the darker shades aren’t too intense on my fairer skin tone. Make sure to set it with powder.
After working from home, I've cut down my make up routine a lot, but want to still be put together when doing kid drop off and pick up. Merit is the perfect solution as I can still look polished but not overdone. The intro set allowed me to try multiple of Merit's products - the foundation/concealer stick, lip gloss, liner, bronzer and blush. It was also easy to apply with or without a make up brush as it's pretty forgiving. Great make up for on the go and comes with a cute bag for first orders off their website. Personally as an oily girl, I would say this wouldn't hold up to a night out or a whole in-office work day, but that's just my skin.
Out of all the products, I really loved the blush. It's easy to use and blend and with such pretty colors - it was really hard to choose but I ended up with Cheeky. A great just-worked-out flush and not looking too artificial. My second favorite is the shade slick in pointelle, which worked well with the lip liner in coupe. I also appreciate the foundation/concealer stick, I think it would be great for touch up. Personally I didn't care for the brush, but it came with the set.
They also have skincare, and I got the great skin double cleanse. Love how it made my skin feel - clean but not too drying. Overall, very happy with my purchase and would consider for gifting!
I'm a fan of Merit beauty products. I've been using them for the past few years and have found it to be simple, easy to use/blend, and at an "ok" price point.
I've tried the majority of the products, and my go to's are:
- Flush Balm: yes, I know it doesn't last throughout the day, but I love how easy to blend with your fingers. And the colors are stellar.
- Merit Shade Slick: this gives me the perfect pigmented lip, without stickiness or weird aftertaste. It keeps the color for eyes.
- Merit Brow Gel: yes, there are lots of brow gels that can do the trick, but something about this one is higher-tier.
- Merit Great Skin Double-Cleanse: I just started using this product, but think it's great because it cleans off makeup/SPF very well and doesn't strip the skin because it is part oil-cleanser.
One thing I love is that they label whether their makeup is cool or warm toned. Surprisingly, that can be hard to find!
I feel less enthusiastic about items like the mascara (too subtle), the Uniform SPF tinted moisturizer (too drying). They definitely have products that don't resonate with me as much, especially in comparison of price.
I learned about Merit from a stylist in LA. You, know the kind of person you listen to when she gives advice and talks about products she loves…
I currently use the concealer in ochre and blush in cheeky. The concealer is creamy and has a great consistency and texture. It goes on smooth but does crease under my eyes. I do need to blend after about mid day/early evening.
The blush is my go to and personal fav. Easy to apply and although you might think it’s “too dark” it’s the perfect shade.
Creamy, easy to blend, and gives a natural flush that looks like skin. The shades are wearable and flattering, and I love how quickly I can swipe it on and go. Great for minimal makeup days. However, I have many other blushes that last longer.
I was interested in this blush because Merit really emphasizes their “less is more” and clean beauty aesthetic 🫢 I definitely agree that you don’t need a lot of this blush for pigment! It’s very natural and easy to blend. The packaging is also really nice. The formula is creamy and very easy to blend with your fingers, you don’t need a lot of blush to build it up. I would say that the formula is very lightweight so it doesn’t accentuate your skin texture or make your skin look very cakey. Overall this is a good buildable blush and I do think I’d repurchase it in different shades!
I LOVE the flush balm! Obsessed. The blending brush is also amazing. The perfecting stick is not great on my 42yo skin, it looks cakey and settles into every wrinkle. The serum also not for me. But A+ for customer service!
I have been hearing about Merit from my cool friends for years now but was a staunch drugstore makeup girlie for a long time. Unfortunately for my wallet, I know see what the fuss was about. Everything I’ve tried has been easy to use, buildable, and really pretty. My favorite product has been the concealer/foundation product, I was skeptical it would be able to cover up redness without being too cakey, but I found it to be the right amount of coverage where I wanted but still very “my skin but better” and light, which is what I’m going for. The shade matching tool was super helpful too—you give them a brand and shade that you know matches and they recommend a shade for you. I found the one they recommended spot on!
I'm a very minimal no-makeup-makeup kinda person and MERIT seems designed especially for my tastes & lifestyle. I love a very quick routine that looks natural but polished. Out of the products I tried, the complexion stick, brush no. 1, and the blush were standouts for me!
I love the way the complexion stick can be used as a daily concealer, as-needed spot coverage or layered for more typical foundation-like coverage. The brush blends it all seamlessly into my skin and the product seems to last throughout the day without drying my skin out. I don't own foundation because I ware it rarely and don't particularly like the feeling, so I'm really excited to have a product in my routine that I can pull out for special events or moments where I want more coverage!
I picked up the blush in the colors cheeky & fox and both are really gorgeous, very easy to work with, natural. The finish is very sheer, buildable and almost a touch glowy. I'll definitely keep an eye on MERIT for future makeup needs!
This review comes from my wife:
As a busy mom of two, and someone who has always preferred a more natural look, makeup is usually one of the first things to be cut out of my routine when I'm low on time. However, the Merit 5 Minute Morning actually has me looking forward to putting a little bit of makeup on. I love the idea of being able to feel like a more polished version of myself in just (actually) 5 minutes. I've never been good at makeup, but I feel like these products are really forgiving in that regard. In the kit, you can find:
-The Minimalist Perfection Complexion Stick (I've always hated foundation because it's such a full look; this is like a more blendable, more versatile concealer that also has some foundation coverage powers),
-Flush Balm cheek color (there are so many pretty shades, and they give off such a natural blush),
-Day Glow (gives that dewy look),
-Brush No. 1 blending brush (so easy to use and works seamlessly with the complexion stick),
-Clean Lash (I previously used Ilia.. this might be my new favorite mascara), and
-Brow 1980 volumizing pomade (gives a soft, fuller look to eye brows)
These products have made it so that almost all the rest of my makeup is collecting dust. My Merit products are my go to when I want to look like a more polished (or sometimes, even a little glammed up), put together version of myself.
The branding is what originally sold me, their packaging is so gorgeous and aesthetic, I mostly wanted it for my bathroom counter. But then I tried to products and was blown away. I love the pigment in the blush and the gloss. The brush is sooo soft and blends great. And the concealer stick is super creamy and so far it hasn't creased too much! Overall, I am loving my new products and can't wait to explore more of their products! Very curious about the skin care.
I am Merits newest fan! I first fried their flush balm and loved it so much it inspired me to try the whole selection. A full face of merit skincare/makeup is now my go to look! I recommend the flush balm, bronze balm, and complexion stick! I tried the tinted sunscreen and was surprised at how thick it was and only recommend that product if your looking for a heavy base rather than light or sheer
These truly are some of the best blushes I have ever used. And the absolute best contour stick. I didn’t like the concealer but that doesn’t make it bad! I don’t know if I’ll ever use another crème blush or crème contour ever again.
I've been using Merit products for the past 7-8 months! I saw a lot of posts about the brand on socials and was sucked in by the minimal branding and beautiful packaging. The products arrived beautifully packed and I felt so elegant unboxing them. I have a darker complexion so I was hesitant to buy the Complexion Stick Foundation online but I trusted the online shade finder and to my delight found a perfect match!!
The Complexion Stick Foundation has been an absolute game changer in my routine. If you're like me and ofter find little drips on foundation on your clothes please please please try a foundation stick. No more ruined clothes, it's soooo easy and fun to draw foundation on my skin with a stick. I find this foundation really easy to blend in with a brush and it gives me a really natural finish "your skin but better look". At the beginning I found the stick a little hard to use and found that it was really highlighting textures in my skin that I wasn't trying to highlight, I also felt it made me look quite shiny during the humid summer months. After a little trial and error I've found a good way to prime and set my face when i'm using the complexion stick. I've also received several compliments from friends saying my skin is "glowing" when I wear the foundation.
I also purchased the Flush Balm (Persimmon) and Tinted Lip Oil (Cara Cara), I love the colours of both these products on my skin but I find neither product has much staying power which is a bummer. The blush is so fun to apply so I find myself coming back to it but I don't think i'll repurchase. I've just finished my Complexion Stick Foundation and have repurchase it. I also bought one for my mum!
If you're someone that's looking for full coverage make-up this probably isn't the brand for you! If you like a more natural look with products that slightly enhance your skin - you'll likely vibe with Merit!
p.s. the little make-up bag is such a nice touch! It's so easy to throw into any bag and makes me feel very chic!
If you are minimal and want the no make up look, then this is your brand. The owner truly made a 5 minute routine - I have almost the product line, one of everything really good. I love the blushes they blend so easily, the routine is easy, simple and minimal quality ingredients . Perfect for a minimalist !
Love everything about this brand. I use so many of their products from the skincare to the makeup and love all of them! Excellent quality and ingredients!
Effortless, glowy, and wearable.
My daughter and I both love Merit — every product just works. The liquid lipstick feels soft and natural, the SPF foundation gives that perfect skin-but-better finish, and the cream blush melts in like a dream. The highlighter is our favorite — subtle, dewy, and never glittery. It’s the kind of makeup that makes you look like you, just a little more polished.
Tried the Clean Lash and loved it - made my lashes super long, clean formula and didn't flake. Overall, the minimalist branding and products feel like an elevated, grown-up version of Glossier.
Update: The Flush Balm is my go-to blush! Layerable and gives you that beautiful dewy flush. Just set it with a spray to minimize fading throughout the day.
Feedback
The packaging was beautiful, but it was pretty easy for the mascara to get onto the twisty part of the tube and that would make it a little sticky to uncap.
The blush is so creamy. It’s so easy to apply to my face and always leaves me with a nice glow. Compared to other blushes I’ve tried, I really like the ease of application and pigment, making me choose merit every time!
