MERIT earns strong reviews as a minimalist, “your-skin-but-better” line that blends easily, flatters a natural look, and suits sensitive skin, with standouts like the Minimalist Complexion Stick, Flush Balm blushes, Day Glow highlighter, Bronze Balm, Clean Lash mascara, and Shade Slick lip oils. Reviews also flag weaknesses: color products that fade quickly, sheer coverage that won’t satisfy full-coverage users, packaging issues (sticks breaking, messy pumps, mascara cap stickiness), occasional dryness/creasing on textured or dry skin, and inconsistent shade matches for some complexions.

Once you find your shade, it's smooth sailing. It is really smooth with great coverage, but still looks like your natural skin by not being full coverage and letting your real skin peek through. It calms redness and covers up pores without looking cakey or feeling heavy, and it sets with a natural finish. When I wear this, I constantly get compliments on "having great skin". With a large shade range, it's incredibly inclusive, so I'm glad everyone gets a chance to experience this formula. The solid stick also makes this incredible for travel. Beyond the product itself, I also remember when Merit listened to the consumer complaints about the stick having too little product inside. They ended up re-releasing the stick with more product, but kept the price the same. Incredible reaction! The whole brand's ethos reminds me of an elevated (early days) Glossier, which focused on "capsule" makeup - easy, effortless, natural. I do wish the packaging were more eco-friendly, which is why I'm docking a star. This is a newer brand, and I feel that at this point, companies should really be considering sustainability when creating their products either by shifting away from single-use packaging or towards truly recyclable/compostable options. Overall, would highly recommend this to friends and family. I've gifted and tried a few of their other products, all of which perform well. Excited to try more!

My absolute favorite eye shadow I've ever used - it's slightly sheer, has staying power, and I love that's a solo shade. I wear makeup minimally so I just want specific shades over a whole palette. This is perf for me.

Super hydrating and just a pop of tint, applicator is super easy to use and it looks really nice in a purse or on a desk. It's formulation is light, non-sticky, and I've almost used the entire tube (!!!).

I love the brand mission of being cruelty free, vegan and clean. That is really important to me when buying makeup products. Not only are they great products and don't break out my skin, the packaging is also beautiful! Highly recommend Merit.

My go-to for coverage. I’ve probably repurchased this 3 times and it lasts incredibly long. It’s a holy grail product for me.
After working from home, I've cut down my make up routine a lot, but want to still be put together when doing kid drop off and pick up. Merit is the perfect solution as I can still look polished but not overdone. The intro set allowed me to try multiple of Merit's products - the foundation/concealer stick, lip gloss, liner, bronzer and blush. It was also easy to apply with or without a make up brush as it's pretty forgiving. Great make up for on the go and comes with a cute bag for first orders off their website. Personally as an oily girl, I would say this wouldn't hold up to a night out or a whole in-office work day, but that's just my skin. Out of all the products, I really loved the blush. It's easy to use and blend and with such pretty colors - it was really hard to choose but I ended up with Cheeky. A great just-worked-out flush and not looking too artificial. My second favorite is the shade slick in pointelle, which worked well with the lip liner in coupe. I also appreciate the foundation/concealer stick, I think it would be great for touch up. Personally I didn't care for the brush, but it came with the set. They also have skincare, and I got the great skin double cleanse. Love how it made my skin feel - clean but not too drying. Overall, very happy with my purchase and would consider for gifting!

I was interested in this blush because Merit really emphasizes their “less is more” and clean beauty aesthetic 🫢 I definitely agree that you don’t need a lot of this blush for pigment! It’s very natural and easy to blend. The packaging is also really nice. The formula is creamy and very easy to blend with your fingers, you don’t need a lot of blush to build it up. I would say that the formula is very lightweight so it doesn’t accentuate your skin texture or make your skin look very cakey. Overall this is a good buildable blush and I do think I’d repurchase it in different shades!

Merit’s branding is on point. The bags, packaging and style of the products are so classy and minimalistic. This oil really gives such a glow and is perfect on every inch of your body. I just wish that it came in a bigger size!

The Merit Great Skin Moisturizer has quickly become a favorite for those seeking a lightweight, hydrating base that seamlessly integrates into both skincare and makeup routines. Designed as a priming moisturizer, it offers a dual function, providing essential hydration while prepping the skin for makeup application. The product has a silky, smooth texture that absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Its lightweight formula ensures that it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, making it suitable for daily use. As a primer, the Great Skin Moisturizer effectively blurs imperfections and creates a smooth canvas for makeup application. Its hydrating properties ensure that makeup applies evenly and lasts longer throughout the day. Its clean formulation and effective performance make it a worthy addition to any skincare routine.

I have been hearing about Merit from my cool friends for years now but was a staunch drugstore makeup girlie for a long time. Unfortunately for my wallet, I know see what the fuss was about. Everything I’ve tried has been easy to use, buildable, and really pretty. My favorite product has been the concealer/foundation product, I was skeptical it would be able to cover up redness without being too cakey, but I found it to be the right amount of coverage where I wanted but still very “my skin but better” and light, which is what I’m going for. The shade matching tool was super helpful too—you give them a brand and shade that you know matches and they recommend a shade for you. I found the one they recommended spot on!

The products are easy to blend, and easy to use. Very useful for a minimal but staple look. I wouldn’t recommend to those that love wearing a lot of makeup because the formulations will not perform well and will patch.

I love merit. The simplicity of the products. Honestly anyone can do their makeup if they use merit. I wouldn’t recommend the stick foundation for those with drier skin because it clings to the dryness, and the bronzer is very creamy and doesn’t work well with powders. When using, less is more.

Mixed reviews across the product line. Some of the items I have used have been great - I love the blushes and bronzer. However, the foundation tends to sit on top of my skin and doesn't blend well. The amount of foundation is miniscule. I really like the packaging - it makes it easy to travel well.

I have really fair skin and most lipsticks look like way too much color on me. I love Merit for how sheer, balmy, and comfortable the formula is; they're easy to apply and give me the perfect sheer wash of color. Baby is my favorite shade, the perfect neutral rosy pink on me!

I love the packaging of the blush. It’s so easy to roll onto my cheeks, lids, nose and lips for a cohesive look. The pigment is medium-heavy, yet sheer for easy to build. I love that blends well with my foundation and sunscreen. I own fox and mood and use mood on the daily.

Love merit products. I appreciate the ability to keep my beauty routine minimal and I use the concealer stick, bronzer, and highlighter, and lip gloss. All of the products work so well and feel great on my skin -- they don't feel heavy or cakey, and they clean off easily with my face wash at the end of the day.

Love the complexion stick. It really saves on the mess in my make up bag because I don't get powders everywhere... but also, it makes putting on my makeup soooo much faster. I wear the color Ecru and I've already restocked multiple times!

I love the Merit mascara! I was looking for a clean mascara that would hold a curl in straight Asian eyelashes and also not lead to raccoon eyes from oily lids. The Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara is it! I don't typically wear anything on my skin besides sunscreen, but the Complexion Stick is really good for spot coverage (i.e., as a concealer). The Blending Brush is also useful to blend out the Complexion Stick when I wear it as a foundation, but I typically just use my fingers to blend because I'm lazy. Overall, Merit creates some great products, and I would definitely try some of their others in the future!

Effortless, glowy, and wearable. My daughter and I both love Merit — every product just works. The liquid lipstick feels soft and natural, the SPF foundation gives that perfect skin-but-better finish, and the cream blush melts in like a dream. The highlighter is our favorite — subtle, dewy, and never glittery. It’s the kind of makeup that makes you look like you, just a little more polished.

I’ve been using this brand for 2 years now, and I’m continually impressed by how reliable/long-lasting their products are. The quality truly matches the price, which can be rare these days... it feels luxe but affordable especially given their sustainability initiative. The Day glow balm is my absolute favorite, I have it in three colors. It gives such a natural, effortless glow!!!
