  • Clean ingredient formulation
  • Distinct spice flavors
  • Eye-catching packaging
  • Resealable package design
  • Dry and dense texture
  • Muted flavor intensity
  • Sandy mouthfeel
  • Small thin biscuits

Kanira reviews assert the brand delivers a healthy, thoughtfully branded breakfast biscuit that works as a convenient tea- or coffee-dunk companion but divides taste testers: reviewers praise clean ingredients, chai and turmeric flavors, and resealable, eye-catching packaging while repeatedly criticizing a dry, dense, sandy texture and generally muted flavor intensity. This helps buyers who prioritize nutrition and unique spice profiles but warns those seeking moist, sweet, or crisp cookies that Kanira may disappoint.

  • Purchased these with the intention of eating them as a snack, not breakfast. I think that that was the right mindset, as they would not have been a sufficient breakfast for me. The flavors were intriguing, and I think tasted true to description. I did not enjoy the texture or density. I appreciated the ingredients being clean. I would try another product from them, due to the ingredients, but I would not repurchase these biscuits.

  • I'm giving 3 stars and not lower because I'm not sure if this is an acquired taste or is more similar to other cultural foods that I'm not actively aware of. Personally, I didn't enjoy them - while the three flavors and spices are great, the rough, grainy texture and dryness of the biscuits made them difficult to fully appreciate the flavors. I thought to also give them another shot and try them with coffee & tea, just in case that is how they are meant to be eaten, but even then they stayed just as dry. Great flavors though, and great nutrition. While I would recommend them to a friend, I would definitely add a caveat of my experiences with the product.

  • I really enjoyed these little biscuits! I thought the size was perfect and the flavors were delicious and went so well with both chai and coffee. I will say that they are definitely not just for snacking since they’re pretty dry, but they are perfect dipped in the hot morning beverage of your choice!

  • These were delicious. I'm not sure I'd eat them for breakfast (I like a little less sweet and a little more fiber and protein if I eat breakfast), but as a snack, they're fantastic. Halfway between a cookie and a cracker with a delightful sandy texture and tasty flavors.

  • I am so bummed these cookies were an absolute flop (not literally, they were hard as cardboard). I love the mission, the concept, and the packaging…but that’s where it ends. I thought they were stale so I tried a different package, they weren’t. The flavor is super mild, but the actual texture is the problem. They’re both stale and cardboard like at the same time. The recipe must be changed!

  • The packaging is lovely and they shipped quick. I tried the Turmeric & Ginger first and was not in love. I hoped the others would be better, but they were not. They taste, as another reviewer said, like cardboard. I was looking for a nice afternoon snack and ended up tossing them. I love the ingredients - I just wish they actually had a palatable texture.

  • I really wanted to love them and was looking forward to trying them because I was excited about the flavor options. Shipping was fast, branding is beautiful, I love that they are low-sugar and gluten-free, and I really like the flavors (especially the chai, and the cardamom & coconut!). But... I found the cookies themselves to be kind of dense and hard to chew. They didn't soak up my coffee and soften when I dipped them. They're also very small and thin, thinner than they look in the picture on the bag. I bought these at a Thingdrop discount, but they are $20 for a variety pack normally and I think that's wayyyy too expensive for 15 tiny cookies! In brief, the actual experience of eating them was unpleasant and they are not worth the normal retail price. I noticed that the first 11 reviews on their Thingtesting page appear to be either purchased reviews or fake reviews from their employees or friends to improve ratings. 11 back-to-back 5-star reviews and each reviewer has left only one 1 review on Thingtesting, and that review is for Kanira. The reviews do not disclose that they are affiliated as they typically do, so while I would have given these 3 stars I am knocking another star off due to inauthentic marketing practices/lack of integrity.

  • I hate to leave a negative review for a small business but these were inedible. Both my husband and I tried them and couldn't even eat one "cookie". They ended up in the trash.

  • Hmmm. These are not great imho. I tried the variety pack and they all sort of taste like cardboard. Very dry and savory. I hate overly sweet things so I was very happy about the lack of sugar but it really needed some. I’ll stick with my regular ginger snaps for dipping into tea or coffee.

  • The flavors all sounded amazing and I was so excited for these, but they missed the mark for me. I do appreciate the natural ingredients and think that the flavor and texture may be better if dipped in chai or crumbled and used like granola, but I would not consider this a standalone breakfast food.

  • These cookies/biscuits were not like something I’d tried before. They had an interesting texture that wasn’t crisp but also not really soft. They were heavily spiced, which was expected based on the flavors and only lightly sweetened which I liked. My favorite way to eat them was accompanying tea (and dunking in said tea). I found 2-3 cookies were a nice serving even though they were small, each package had a couple of servings. My favorite flavors were the chai and turmeric/ginger. The coconut cardamom grew on me, but it didn’t have a ton of coconut flavor and I think it needed to be a little sweeter to balance out the heavy cardamom flavor. Not sure if I’ll go out of my to get them, but they were nice little snacks that I didn’t feel guilty about.

  • These have a decent taste but are super dry. I crumbled them up in yogurt with a parfait which helped a lot. If they were a little softer / more moist they would be great.

  • I really wanted to love these but unfortunately, the flavor and texture aren't there for me. They're a little too... sandy? And I want a little more softness. The flavor didn't quite punch through the way I wanted it to. It would be great to have a GF/V option like this on the market so I hope they are able to make some improvements!

  • I wanted to love these because the ingredients are great and they could have been a great addition to my morning chai, but the taste and texture just weren't there. They seemed undercooked, and didn't taste like a cookie.

  • Yum! Really nice flavors and not too sweet. The spices are pretty subtle so they don't over power while drinking coffee. Also the gluten free is an added bonus as my boyfriend doesn't eat gluten and was able to try and enjoy these as well.

  • I thought these were ok - I did eat as a quick breakfast for a few mornings, but as I was on the go I didn't get to eat them with a coffee or anything. I think they would be pretty good if you were able to dunk them, but as is they are a little dry for my taste. The flavors were great though!

  • I enjoyed these overall, though I am not a big chai spice fan. The turmeric and ginger variety was quite nice and provided satiety for several hours for me. These little biscuits go a long way!

  • Unfortunately these little biscuits left me a little disappointed. They're pretty dry and definitely need to be eaten with a drink, and even then they're difficult to swallow. The flavors were ok but could have had more of a punch. If the recipe ever got a revamp, I would absolutely try again!
