Girlfriend Collective earns largely positive reviews for durable, size‑inclusive activewear with rich colors, supportive Paloma and Tommy bras, and long‑lasting OG/compressive leggings; many say the brand is good and pieces hold up for years. Reviews also flag weaknesses: inconsistent sizing, leggings that can run thick, slide down, or pill/lose shape over time, variable quality across lines, and some styles lacking breathability or support.

  • I loooove Girlfriend! I have so many of their pieces — from their leggings and bras, to their dresses and skorts and swimwear! I’ve been a big fan for many years and continue to love them. Their fabric is like butter and I love that they are sustainable.

  • At first, I was a bit hesitant, but after I bought my first pair, I became a fan and bought a lot during the recent Black Friday sale. I bought leggings from the compressive collection and I fell in love right away because it's perfect for my high-impact workouts. Everything stays put, I get full support, and the fit is actually very flattering. I also love their movement for a greener world.

In terms of improvement, I think extending or bringing back the most loved colors from time to time would be nice. Stocks run our so fast!

  • I'm an amateur athleisure expert — it's what I wear most days — so I was excited to try Girlfriend Collective out. I'm a big fan of the brand ethos and style, and the clothing turned out to be thick and high quality. However, the compressive, minimally stretchy fabric isn't a great fit for my body type. I found the leggings and bike shorts to be too tight without much give in the stomach area, so they felt more like wearing stiff jeans than athleisure. I think sizing up may have solved this problem, though. Also, be careful not to put your leggings in the dryer, which the brand advises against. I accidentally did so with my bike shorts, and now they have a hole in the waist seam. Out of the three pieces I purchased, the Paloma sports bra is the only one I still have in rotation. I like the compression and thick material, and it is really cute. Overall, I'd recommend the brand with the suggestion to size up.

  • I'm a big fan of Girlfriend Collective, but I think there are some inconsistencies in their products. Some of the products I've had are great and compressive, but others have some design flaws (ex. sports bra that have boob inserts that fall out/move around when you wash it). But I would recommend it none the less if you are looking for an ethically-made activewear brand! They do have great deals during the holidays.

  • Was super excited to try this brand out, but personally I didn't love. I really like the sports bra but the leggings didn't work for me. I wanted something to wear for a 10k but the leggings had a lot of room in the crotch area and it caused my thighs to rub too much. Would be open to try different pants in the future.

  • I really wanted to like this brand because I love their mission but the fit wasn't right for me and I didn't love the feel of the fabric. because the mission is so great I might be wiling to give it another try also the name is great love a women focused brand.

  • Girlfriend Collective is an amazing brand with an amazing purpose. Their material is made out of recycled fabrics and plastic water bottles. They only use certified factories to make sure they’re ethically safe. They also use eco friendly dyes which is wonderful! I’m all about this brand and the clothes look great and are comfortable. The sport skort is really cute and you can wear it while working out or for every day usage. Definitely going to buy more from this brand.

  • I purchased a pair of leggings and they're of great quality and I found that they were well-designed! I also love their mission.

My leggings stretched a little bit after wearing them for a few months. I can still wear them but I was disappointed in that.

  • I have been buying from this brand for years & the quality has held up. Their pieces are super flattering & don't cut into my skin weirdly.

  • I love their rewards program. Their Tommy Bra is amazing as a sports bra and for everyday wear.

some of their leggings I have purchased have not held up well and stretch our fairly easily.

  • I got a pair of leggings because they are buttery soft and super lightweight. The only downside is that they are my only leggings that make my look like I’ve peed myself after a good workout. Sweat really shows!

  • I was skeptical 🤨 of buying basics from girlfriend collective, the price was a big obstacle despite the brand's great message. I have a hoodie from GC and it is the thickest and coziest hoodie that I have ever had. It is so soft and warm and it better quality than any hoodie you can get from other women's brands. I would buy it again (but maybe not three times)

  • I found Girlfriend Collective through Tumblr in 2017 and I remember being so impressed by the quality for such a small (and eco-friendly) brand. In 2022, I'm still impressed by how well the quality holds up, and I LOVE the new styles that have been added since I first started shopping from here. I also love their commitment to size inclusivity!

  • I didn’t find any of the leggings to be incredibly flattering on my figure but they were certainly comfortable. I have three different styles of their sports bras and I do love those. They are supportive and incredibly well made. They have held up to constant wash and wear (though I do line dry them).

I haven’t ordered directly from GC in awhile so it’s possible things have changed but their shipping was incredibly slow. I think I waited at least three weeks from my order date for the items to arrive.

  • I have only purchased the original leggings from their viral campaign back around 2016. I love their mission aimed at using PCR materials in their products. The original leggings were a little tight for me, but felt high quality. I’m looking forward to testing other items!

  • Really like my float ultralight leggings. They really are very light, and comfy, and flattering. Wore them for my morning workout the other day and forgot to change out of them for the rest of the day.

  • When Lululemon was such a big thing, I always said I'd never pay that much for a pair of leggings. Well, GF, you got me beat! From the sustainability and transparency of the company, to the high quality, to the inclusive marketing, I'm all in! Ever since I found their FLOAT fabric, I'm totally sold. It's comfortable, beautiful, good color palette. It's pretty much the only activewear I'll purchase these days!

  • I've only ever tried the Compressive Leggings - and..... unfortunately wasn't impressed. I got the plain, black high-rise (w/o the side pockets) - and while the fit was OK, the compression felt fairly light (in comparison to my Lululemons). I get where they are going from a brand POV, and appreciate the focus on sustainability - but unfortunately, its a case of execution that didn't quite meet reality. Was also pretty disappointed with the wear-time; I used + cared for them properly (i.e. no dryer, air-dry and always cold washed) - but they started looking tired after 2.5-3 months (av. wear of 1-2x a week, with 2 being on the upper-end).
