Reviews mention

  • Durable, long-lasting construction
  • Inclusive, extensive size range
  • Sleek, saturated color options
  • Supportive, compressive fabrics
  • Inconsistent sizing across styles
  • Thick fabric limits breathability
  • Leggings sliding during movement
  • Occasional pilling and fraying

Girlfriend Collective earns largely positive reviews for durable, inclusive activewear that often holds shape and color for years, with favorites like Paloma bras, compressive leggings, skorts, and FLOAT pieces. Reviews also flag inconsistencies—newer leggings sometimes pill, stretch out, slide down, fit oddly, or feel thick, restrictive, or not breathable—so sizing and fabric choice matter.

  • Purchased a couple pairs on sale during Black Friday markdowns. Nice, smooth fabric and looks like decent quality but not sure what the selling point really is. Support the size-inclusive mission but they're just leggings.

  • I purchased GF collective leggings when they first came out. Initially, the quality of the leggings was great. The brand’s mission statement was also one I really supported. The compression was also very comfortable and there was minimal pilling. I recently purchased them again and was disappointed in the purchase. The leggings have a weird fit and the quality is not the same as I remember.

  • I have two matching Girlfriend Collective sets (in Moss and a dark red that I think is no longer available) and they're my favorite athleisure. I love the pockets on the leggings I find the Paloma bra supportive enough for barre/pilates classes. The bra is long enough for me to comfortably wear without a tank/tee over it, and I think the neckline is really flattering. My only gripe is the leggings don't stay up as well on my waist after a couple years of regular use.

  • I was gifted this top four years ago and it looks the same as it did when I first got it. I wear it around town, to yoga, weightlifting, and love it especially for hot weather hiking. Would love a version without the elastic band and with pockets as a running top.

  • Obsessed with these leggings! These are the only leggings I feel fully compress my mid section. My first pair lasted over 5 years! The length and fit are just right and they come in an array of colors.

  • I have only ever tried the Paloma Racerback Sports Bras, but man do I love them! They’re good for lounging or active, and I think they run true to size! You can’t go wrong with one in a few colors

  • I love love love girlfriend collective. I have been a die hard fan for many years now and practically live in my yoga pants. They are so comfortable and I get countless compliments on my matching sets. They have a great referral program too! I would highly suggest you try Girlfriend Collective yourself!

  • Forget about other active wear. I’ve tried them all! Girlfriend collective is it. The leggings are bomb. I have been purchasing and wearing this brand since the initial leggings launch IYKYK The real highlight of the whole lineup in the tank/sports bras. I have a long torso love the fit and side back coverage. The wide bands never annoy or fold. Comfortable for everyday wear and the colors are so wonderful.

  • I think I have developed a Girlfriend Collective addiction; I cannot seem to have enough leggings, enough bras/tops, even sweatpants, scrunchies and skorts. If I could wear ONLY Girlfriend Collective I would. Their inclusive sizing, interesting colors and sustainably made gear is a win-win-win for me. Yes, it is expensive but I have never regretted anything I've purchased. I've bought it as gifts and recommended it to friends (I think the first time I heard about it was from Busy Phillips on Instagram??) and I prefer to any other recreational/athleisure brand.

The shipping is slooooow and unpredictable, and colors sell out regularly.

  • Super cute. Me and my friend got matching ones leggings and Paloma bras. Waiting till the day we wear it together to post a pic :) very stretchy and comfortable!! Wanting to get the biker shorts soon as well.

  • Great quality workout gear. The short set I have is thick, but very lightweight. My tank top is very supportive & hugging which I love. As well as the color options.

  • I have the Plum Paloma Racerback Bra and the Black High-Rise Bike Shorts in the color plum, and absolutely LOVE them! I have quite a large chest size and have always been a bit insecure about it. But the bra is great to workout in and i love wearing it while doing yoga. I can comfortably move into any position without the fear of my girls falling out. I also love how comfortable it is and doesn't have any annoying or painful digging. I ordered a size small and it fits wonderfully. The shorts are also really comfortable and I love how lightweight and compressive the material is. I'm a big fan of GC.

  • I got two pairs of the maternity leggings when I was in my 6th month. By the middle of the 3rd trimester, the inner thigh section was pilling so badly that I knew it was a good thing I was almost done wearing them! They were very comfortable and I like the recycling mission.

The pilling makes the quality seem low, and it prevented me from keeping them after my pregnancy ended.

  • I don't even know where to begin with Girlfriend Collective because I love it so much and have a lot of thoughts. 1) Really respect their launch strategy of giving out free leggings. GF knew that trying to sell leggings made from recycled water bottles was going to be tough so they gave them out for free first and they were confident people would love them so much, they'd become customers. This was awesome. 2) They've obviously expanded beyond leggings now and THANK GOD! I now have their socks, underwear, sports bras, leggings, biker shorts, and realllllllly want their outerwear but have held back because I already own too much outerwear. All the items I have I love. 3) I'm in a group chat with friends where we rave about our GF Collective stuff. 4) GF Collective has been leading the way for sustainable active and loungewear. In 2022 sustainable clothing is getting bigger and bigger but GF Collective started this conversation early and has not only stuck to their mission but pushed themselves for stronger goals. I really respect and appreciate this and is a good example to other clothing brands! UPDATE: GF Collective's rewards program is Good. Very Good. They do such a good job maintaining their loyal customers with early access, discount codes, free shipping, and occasional free items. This is the gold standard for rewards programs.

  • Not a huge fan of their leggings (I'm addicted to the Uniqlo Airism feel) but if you're looking for something compressive they have good, thick options. I just prefer a different fabric on the bottom. That said I love their work out tops - they were perfect for when I was doing Orange Theory since it was a hot and sweaty workout and I needed something that held me in but also kept me cool. Their longer tanks and sports bras did just that. I also appreciate their sustainable model and their eye for design. The one shoulder bra is so adorable and doubles as a nice top. I like this brand because the quality is absolutely there, they have good sales, and they have a really unique, stylish, POV on athleisure wear.

  • I've loved everything I've bought from girlfriend. Leggings, sports bra, skirt, fanny pack, sweats. I've had one of my sets for 3 years and they're still in good shape. Love that materials are sources from recycled plastic and they have a good recycling program. Just wish they were a little more affordable.

Shipping is so slow it holds me back from making a purchase sometimes.

  • I got a pair of leggings as a gift 3 years ago, and the most wonderful thing happened, the brand accidentally sent two! So already onto a good start here. The leggings fit perfect and I loved they had an appropriate height option for my short legs. I also appreciated seeing all of the pieces on different bodies on their website, they were one of the first to do this! I recently purchased a top from them too and was happy to see the quality is the same as the leggings, can't wait to get a ton of wear from it too!

  • After a lot of research during the early days of my pregnancy, I chose maternity bike shorts from Girlfriend Collective. They were my absolute favorite thing to wear during my summer pregnancy and I still wear them now four months after the birth. I got the green and blue shorts- the colors are beautiful deep dyes. The ultra ultra high waist on them completely covered my belly, which was usually more comfortable than the more common under belly cuts. The construction was smart too, there was no bothersome seam going up over my belly button. I got matching Please Recycle and Good Sport socks and they’re now some of my favs. When I officially kiss the maternity shorts goodby I’m sure I’ll replace them with a regular fit. For now, I’ve been wearing them to ballet class while I work of getting back into shape post c-section :)

Price point feels high but the quality is unmatched!!!

  • I've placed numerous orders with Girlfriend Collective. I would consider them my absolute favorite brand. Their bra tops and workout dresses are incredibly comfortable, but I also have a pair of compressive leggings, a long sleeve bodysuit, and a midi length puffer jacket from them. Admittedly, I haven't gotten much usage out of their other items yet, but I highly recommend their bra tops for both athletic usage and everyday wear. Their sustainable and environmentally conscious mission resonates with me a lot, and they take a variety of concrete steps that back their claims.

I am returning the bodysuit through their ReGirlfriend initiative. I don't really appreciate the built-in bra considering it's a ribbed top and definitely requires an actual bra if you don't want it to look obvious you're not wearing a bra. Additionally, it definitely has a synthetic feel. It does not feel like cotton. I understand the point of their recycled materials incorporates synthetics (plastic), but it might be worth noting for those who care about texture. The reason I point this out is that it's very evident their brand is an athletically inclined brand because even their non-athletic clothing has that athletic feel and structure to it. While a built in bra is convenient, it seems like an unnecessarily athletic detail. As far as materials go, it leads me to understand that from their selection of clothing options, there is no in-between in their brand between athletic wear and lounge wear. (I know they're an athletic wear brand, but being such a big fan of their pieces as everyday items, I would like more options that I can use as everyday pieces.)

  • i have leggings, sweatpants, sweatshirt & sports bra so only 3 pieces but sort good range. i also had pair leggings (1st thing ever ordered from them) purchased over yr ago was too small even though i went by their size chart. the leggings are very soft but my favorite is definitely the “lola v-neck bra.” super soft & barely notice im wearing it & absorbs sweat pretty well. i am bra size 35a & did size small but i don’t like tight bras. i do use the bra to run & never feel uncomfortable but its not a compression bra if thats what you need.

    Feedback

their leggings are very soft, very compressive, come in lot of colors & are high waisted. i think they run very small! im 5”5’ 105lb & small is still pretty tight on me. again, i dont like things to feel restrictive so maybe you wouldn’t mind it. i also find the high waist too high & usually roll it down. the sweatpants are very thick with fleece on inside. they’re thick so definitely more winter item. customer service for me has definitely been bad. & i think their size charts are way off but i like the product. just make sure know your size so not needing exchange or return
