Curology earns polarized reviews: many report clearer skin within weeks and praise the streamlined, prescription-based routine and gentle basics, while others see no improvement or worsening irritation, dryness, and breakouts. Reviews also cite customizable formulas and convenient onboarding as strengths but flag impersonal clinician rotation, questionable “customization,” over-frequent shipments, small or finicky packaging, and aggressive billing as drawbacks—useful context if deciding between Curology and an in-person dermatologist.

takes all my makeup off and is so good for sensitive skin

I would like to say when I received the cleanser the top lid didn't close and the stopper for the product not coming out was also broken. I still try out the product since there was a seal on the cleanser, but now if I don't stand it upside down it will go everywhere. I don't know if this happened during shipping or the factory/site itself. With that being addressed | then read the ingredients and smelled the cleanser. The curology acne cleanser has barely a scent to it, which makes sense since it's fragrance-free. The closest scent I can say it might smell like is oats. When I cleansed my face it did feel clean and my sensitive skin was not red after.
I tried these as a subscription a while back for my acne I would say that it did help, but it was not the best product and I would say it was a little overrated, but it did help me with my acne over a long period of time not the most effective results immediately.

The onboarding process was very fluid, streamlined, and enjoyable. Communication with the dermatologists was immediate. Delivery came on time and the unboxing experience was nice. The product prescribed to me did dry out my skin a fair bit, and I might've needed a tweak to my prescription after a few weeks of trialing the initial formulation.

Committing to (buying) a full-sized product means there would be a fair bit of product wastage if I did need to change to another prescription/strength.
nice website and customer service. I did not notice anydifference using this product. not for people with hormonal acne
It pretty much cleared my acne so I wanted to stop using it, bc it had done its purpose, but I broke out much worse than before I started using it.
Felt like the quiz was really in-depth compared to the actual options you get to buy/get a prescription for. It works well for the convenience and if you're not sure where to get a prescription to try something like Tretinoin, but the whole experience felt lackluster and felt like the main focus was keeping me in my subscription and not fixing my problems. The formula I got worked fine but not anything extraordinary compared to the alternatives out there I've also tested.
I definitely love using curology. The brand is a little pricey, but definitely well worth it.
made my skin very dry, could be working a bit, but it's been taking a long time (several months)
I did a trial and wasn't expecting much. But after 2 weeks using the tretinoin × niacinamide custom formula they made for me I feel like I am aging in reverse!!! The subscription is a bit spendy, but all the products I tried were wonderful, from the cleanser to the barrier balm to the chapstick and moisturizer. I think it's worth the prescription for my skin solo, about 30 dollars a month. I wish I could afford to get the other things too every month!
Not impressed. They boast great skincare, but I found their cleansers and moisturizers to not be effective. Nothing offensive, but nothing extraordinary. Packaging is pretty, products are inoffensive, little to no scent. They also sent a prescription medication to me at an intro cost, then fully charged my CC for another full-priced round of medication just 12 days after I received the first one, with no check-in email to see how my routine was going, if I'd noticed changes, etc. Super unprofessional. Felt like they were trying to trick me into paying a lot of $$ for a product that wasn't working for me, and that I had yet to need a refill on.
I would recommend to stay away. I have used their personalised prescription about 10 years ago and I have suffered for a number of years since. Let me start by saying that when I contacted Curology for the first time, I had a decent skin. I would get hormonal acne near my mouth and a random pimple on the forehead once in a while. After one month using the custom made Curology cream my skin was red, painful and covered in raging acne all over the face - for 3 years! I can’t express enough how much emotional and psychological pain it caused me. Physical pain too, but that’s not even the point. It shattered my self esteem, made me avoid socialising and I have spent so much money since trying to heal my skin! In that one month of “treatment”, not only the formula was wrong for me, their “dermatologist” was giving me backwards advice. I stressed that even plain water makes my skin burn and she insisted I use high ph sulphur soap. I highly doubt she was qualified to give such advice. I now know that all the symptoms I had at a time were indicative of a damaged lipid barrier and such aggressive soap would have guaranteed further damage. Pair that with nicotinamide intolerance and an antibiotic eradicating the last bit of protective skins microbiota and you get a disaster. Get on with the science! And if client is experiencing backwards results then stop and rethink instead of pressuring them to carry on! Long story short. My skin was in so much pain, for months. I couldn’t use ANYTHING. I couldn’t even wash my face with water. I spent many months not touching my face at all. It was crippling. I contacted Curology again and they have refused to take any responsibility and blamed me. They also did not offer any advice. I fully regret not taking them to court - but at a time I was so depressed, it was too overwhelming for me to do so. I have since healed my skin but I still have bad memories. Curology is literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with a product / company. And I can’t believe they are still in business!
Way too expensive for the subscription service in comparison to the cost at the pharmacy. The one handed lip balm smelt and felt amazing but it is a small amount inside, and I think it got too warm once, and the texture has never been the same since (very soft).
Sunscreen is decent, gentle facewash also decent. Its just overall decent skincare for basics. Its pretty affordable so its not a bad choice when you go to Target and you need a basic skincare routine.
I like that it's customizable but the subscription itself is a hassle

Personalized skin care products based on your on skin type. Extremely careful with the customer!!!
I’ve been using for a little over a year and I have no intention on stopping. My prescription really helped the little bumps that initially made me seek out dermatological help. I’ve updated my prescription 3 times to up an anti-aging ingredient and my provider was quick to reply and help. As with any skincare it took a bit to see results, but I’ve been so happy with how my skin looks. I used the moisturizer and cleanser for a bit, but didn’t feel like there was anything special about them and stopped.
I do not think they understood my skin at all.
I really tried to stick to it and ride out the purging but it was 6 months of straight up terrible skin with no sign of improvement.
I have tried Curology on two separate occasions and unfortunately didn't have success in managing my acne with their products. The process, however, is relatively straight forward and I feel the cost is fair, especially when you consider the cost of a dermatology visit- out of pocket or otherwise. I felt the responses from the dermatology team were pretty canned & impersonal, though I understand they're probably extremely busy. I have friends that have great success so I wouldn't write the brand off completely, it's definitely worth a shot if over-the-counter acne treatments aren't working for you
