Reviews mention

  • Sleek minimalist aesthetic design
  • Lightweight hard-shell construction
  • Smooth-rolling 360° wheels
  • Thoughtful interior compression system
  • Easily scuffed exterior surfaces
  • Occasional wobbly telescoping handle
  • Inconsistent zipper or mesh durability
  • Heavier, dent-prone aluminum shell

Away earns strong reviews for durable, lightweight polycarbonate and aluminum luggage that glides smoothly, packs efficiently with compression panels and a laundry bag, and is backed by responsive, often generous warranty service; however, reviews also flag easy exterior scuffing/dents, occasional zipper/handle/wheel issues, divisive or cumbersome battery compartments, and ubiquity that causes bag mix-ups. Overall, Away is good and works well for frequent travel, but buyers should expect cosmetic wear and consider darker colors or covers.

  • Super high quality travel bags. Awesome design and amazing feel.

  • Away is revolutionizing the bloated and largely-overpriced travel industry. Their bags are sleek, high-quality, and I love that they all fit together as one system.

I wish they hd some more fabric options (faux leather and faux suede would be nice) but they're doing great!

  • A cool brand to own and I bought one as a present for my husband. It's durable. For 25% of the price I have a xiaomi suitcase for myself and it works just as well. Not as stylish, but I think for these types of branded suitcases maybe just get a small one for the flex.

  • I got my first Away suitcase when they launched and the battery pack was the real selling point and I loved it, then as the laws changed and you had to remove it from the suitcase it became kind of annoying and I ended up just getting on without the battery pack in it. It is a really nice suitcase (I like the design and got a color-blocked edition one) and always feels solid and exactly what it should be.

I don't really have any complaints but it does make me feel like there might be better suitcases out there or just similar ones for much cheaper

  • love this suitcases they have the best quality, the carry on is my favorite. It is my must to travel specially long trips. I would like to try their bags too.

  • Southwest tried to play with this suitcase and it did not break at all, durability is 10/10 with the way it catches itself and doesn’t crack even when they load it onto the plane. Also a stylish and cute look

  • I've been using these suitcases for awhile now and I absolutely love them. My favorite bit has to be the locking feature-- it's super simple but adds such a good layer of security while I travel! The inner compartments are spacious and feature flexible dividers/pockets that keep your things in place without limiting capacity. The hard shell is sturdy and can easily withstand being bashed around on baggage claim. Very highly recommend!

  • Adorable look and completely durable. This is the luggage that you can take away and bring back in one piece!

  • Cool product. I want to like it more I really do. One of the first to market with a battery charger, customer service is great, idk maybe it’s the design that doesn’t make me love it.

  • I suppose it's basic, but I do really like my Away. I want to upgrade to a Rimowa, but the added weight of the aluminum makes it hard to justify--my away is so light! My handle broke recently and they repaired it for free.

  • Purchased for carryon for European trip based on reviews and friend recommendations. Traveled several times with the bag and was very pleased. Preparing for next trip and zipper broke- NOT HAPPY! AWAY quickly replaced my bag with a new one and I’ve had NO trouble since. Perfect for carryon - holds a lot. Traveled for 2 weeks in Europe with this bag

  • Love my away suitcases! They definitely fit more and have held up really well. Also love that I can really stuff them and put stress on the zipper and it seems to hold up strong

  • I have 3 bags, small carry-on, medium and large & I love them. I also love that they all fit into each other for easy storage. I love the compartments and the charger is super helpful.

  • moves very smoothly, hard shell feels nice, but it gets scratched up easily. when empty, the suitcase has a decent amount of weight. love the hidden laundry bag. great lock system too. has everything you need for a suitcase.

  • I love my Aways! I have a full aluminum set and have given carry ons as gifts. Especially useful if you live near an Away store and can easily take advantage of free repairs and replacements.

It can be tough to know which Away is yours at a baggage claim full of identical ones! No pressure to keep them during their trial period, so I think they’re worth a try.

  • Expensive, but worth it. I bought the larger carryon and I love the fact that it expands and rolls on four wheels.

  • Love my pink suitcase and have used it religiously for the past several trips!

Wish it didn't get marked up so easily - I avoid checking it in for this reason. A darker color is probably better!

  • The carry-on is functionally great and the battery is handy. I have an older one, and it has a tendency to pop out after a few years of light use.

  • Sturdy and reliable! I’ve had it for years and it’s been great. I always manage to fit everything.

  • It looks pretty and I have had it for years, so to be fair, it has lasted. But I have had many other equally good suitcases. Not sure it's worth the price.
