  • I have to say, the branding is what sold me at first. But their commitment to sustainability and a seed-oil-free alternative is what made me give it a try. I've used about half the bottle and haven’t noticed any difference in taste. I've been growing increasingly frustrated with the cleanup my avocado oil from Costco creates. High smoke point? Umm, where? (A word to the wise: don’t buy in bulk until you test it first.) But ACC has been easy-peasy cleanup for me...phew! It's also just so dang cute next to my Brightland olive oil.

  • Really liked this algae cooking oil never used something like this before tastes neutral, light and a little buttery tried it with a stir fry and the food tasted better than the olive oil I was using before and is better for cooking. It is seed oil free, clean neutral oil and only 120 calories per serving. It is an algae superfood it has a 535 degree Fahrenheit smoke point which is worry free high heat cooking to unlock those tasty textures and flavors.

  • I typically use extra virgin olive oil for my cooking, however, I didn’t regret giving Algae cooking oil a solid try! My food came out just as delicious!

  • I decided to give algae oil a try because of the promising benefits I’d heard about. The idea that algae could offer a sustainable alternative to traditional cooking oils was intriguing. With the need for more farmland becoming critical, algae seemed like a revolutionary solution. It promised to produce high-quality fats, proteins, and nutrients in a matter of days with minimal land, water, and carbon usage—without sacrificing flavor or quality. However, despite these potential benefits, my experience was nothing short of awful. The taste was terrible, completely overpowering my summer squash and zucchini. Cleaning up was even worse—the oil clung to my All-Clad stainless steel pan like glue, making it nearly impossible to remove (which really makes you think about what it’s doing to your body). In comparison, the avocado oil I’ve been using for years is superior in every way. It has a clean, neutral taste, a high smoke point, and doesn’t leave behind any unpleasant smells or residue. While algae oil might have some environmental advantages, those benefits don’t outweigh the downsides for me. I’ll definitely be sticking with avocado oil from now on.

Hi Diane, so sorry to hear you did not enjoy the oil. The oil by composition is neutral (some even say buttery). And because the oil has such a high smoke point, there is a chance you burned your food, and that is the off taste, which would also explain the hard cleanup process. We hope you give us another chance!

  • ACC first got me hooked prior to releasing their flagship product. Great branding accompanied by a captivating social media presence left me no option but subscribe to their newsletter. There, I was converted from distant fan to intimate supporter. Their newsletter is extremely appealing and they offered to send samples to many of their subscribers—myself included. I had stepped away from cooking with oils, but have since been using my samples every chance I get as an everything oil. The algae is a good sell, but the community building is where it really stands out. Looking forward to purchasing the full 16oz bottle as soon as I run dry.

Wow these little samples are so cute! Did you end up buying the full size bottle?

  • Clean and healthy seed oil alternative What an incredible product! I love cooking and after trying to find alternatives to seed oils, I finally discovered ACC … It is super clean/healthy (high monounsaturated fats), it has a very high smoke point (so unlike olive oils I can use it for steaks, etc), and it has a very neutral flavor that amplifies the taste of everything. Sooooo good!

  • Algae Cooking Club's algae oil is truly revolutionizing the oil industry. The flavor is incredibly neutral with a hint of a butter-y undertone. The neutrality lets flavors shine. I didn't realize how overwhelming my go-to olive oil was until I gave this a taste. Try it on eggs first (or something simple that you cook often) so you can truly understand its power.

  • This oil has a great taste and works beautifully for anything that cooks in a pan. Losing a point for the cost and availability, it's much more expensive per ounce than the mid-grade olive oil I usually use, and currently I can only get it mail order. I enjoyed trying it, but don't think I would repurchase unless the price came down significantly.

  • Tried this, and was really pleasantly surprised. Love that someone's pushing beyond olive oil. Excited for them to expand their assortment (more spiced & flavored oils?)

  • LOVE IT. Everything doesn't have to taste like oil oil now. I love the neutrality, really brings out the natural flavors without introducing another one.
