Reviews mention

  • Exceptional insulation performance
  • Leakproof, reliable sealing
  • Sleek, cup‑holder‑friendly silhouettes
  • Distinctive, fashion‑forward designs
  • Narrow mouth complicates cleaning
  • Exterior coating chips or scratches
  • Prone to dents when dropped
  • Occasional metallic taste or odor

S’well earns strong reviews for performance and style: bottles and drinkware reliably keep beverages icy-cold or piping hot for hours, don’t leak, fit cup holders and backpacks, and come in distinctive colors, marbles, and collaborations. Reviews also flag drawbacks—narrow mouths and caps that are difficult to clean, easy denting and exterior chipping/scratching, occasional metallic taste or odor, and dated designs versus newer competitors—making it excellent for temperature retention but less compelling for durability and ergonomics.

  • Great water bottle in terms of keep your water super ice cold - I live in Texas where the summers are HOT and if i leave it in the car for awhile, it will still be cold hours later. Only thing that isn't my favorite about it is that the shape of the water bottle makes it super difficult to clean.

  • I like their water bottles and they hold ice and keep beverages cold for a long time! Some of the bottles (small-necked) are difficult to clean.

  • With something for all my needs, S'Well is a staple in my every day routine. Starting with my workout water bottle (with a wide lip to allow for pre-workout), to my coffee mug to my lunch bowl to my home water bottle, I'm reusing more than ever. I love the variety of patterns they offer, as well as sizing additions to allow more specific use cases. My ONLY complaint is that some of the textures wear out faster than I'd like, making the mug/bottle/bowl look more worn than i want when reusing things.

  • I have a couple of the standard S'well bottles. I use them as water bottles and they do the job and stay cool. The one thing is that eventually the paint does start to chip. I wouldn't call it fragile but it's still happened from regular use, after a year or so. You also have to hand wash them / can't put them in the dishwasher which is an inconvenience.

  • I purchased a Swell water bottle a few years ago when they were all the rage and top of the water bottle world. I felt like the stainless steel always kept my beverage cold and I really enjoy the size and color range available. My one bone to pick is the narrowing top design makes it difficult to clean, you need a brush to get to the bottom of it. I feel like Hydroflask and Owala have really moved to the forefront of the reusable water bottle category in terms of popularity and I don't hear about Swell as much anymore.

  • I have the original water bottle and I love the cool look and feel of the blonde wood. Also works well in keeping my water cold throughout the day. Only complaint is the loud, squeaky screw-on top.

  • I have had my S'well forever, and it has lasted through falling off of every surface possible. Even though it is dinged up, it has never leaked and still works very well. I love the addition of different types of caps and use my sports cap every day at the gym and for every purpose possible. It also keeps my water cold for long periods of time and usually still has cold water or even ice at the end of a hot day.

  • I use to love this brand as they were the first company to create a product to keep my drinks warm or cold, but now there's so many better options on the market that are way more a affordable and have better shapes.

  • Good product but not as sexy as competitors if that makes sense. Like cooler than a basic chick sipping a cursed stanley but its not like cute like kinto or something. I have a water bottle and a coffee guy but I am a little bored by them. It does the job but I want it to feel like I changed my life more ya know? I want it to make me feel something and I sorta just feel like when you sign up for a yoga class and then the vibe is just sorta like boring so you leave early. That type of beat.

  • They look nice but the insulation is not great compared to other popular brands. Their OG bottle makes it impossible to put ice in unless you have those thin ice trays. Overall, cute, good for small amounts of water, but not “emotional support water bottle” quality

  • What a nice design product! Made me felt good using them. Wish price is less to buy more.

  • I have tried 2 different kinds of S'wells - the original classic model and the wide mouthed version. It truly is one of the only water bottles I've tried that is true to its word and keeps your drinks really cold, even through a whole day at the office or school. You can keep it next to your bed and the water will still be cold the next morning - I did this and there was still ice cubes in it when my alarm went off. I didn't love using them at the gym though. Also since the lid is separate it is easy to lose, but you can purchase extra ones separately which is great. It looks very sleek. Overall recommended for a basic everyday water bottle.

I didn't love using my S'wells at the gym - I found I had to fill up the classic version constantly during my workout, and the wide mouth one was difficult to use while doing cardio without splashing all over myself. It would be great to have an optional loop around the neck or something to attach the lid too when working out to avoid germs and/or losing them. Also, they have loads of colours and patterns, but it was hard to find a patterned one that I actually liked.

  • I feel like there are a ton more options for high-quality water bottles nowadays but I don't hate my s'well. Downsides are that it dents really easily and the design scratches off after some use, but I like that the classic bottle I have fits in most cup holders unlike many other insulated water bottles.

  • I have many of their water bottles. It feels like the insulation is really good, and the bottle itself feels high quality and heavy. Unfortunately that makes it a little cumbersome to carry around. I also think the way the neck narrows in, makes the bottle easy to grab, but it is difficult and annoying to clean.

  • About what you'd expect, nothing to make it stand out.
