Reviews mention

  • Ultra-creamy texture ice cream
  • Inventive seasonal flavor lineup
  • Aromatic freshly-made waffle cones
  • Impressive vegan flavor execution
  • Occasionally cloying sweetness levels
  • Hit-or-miss experimental flavors
  • Heavy, rich mouthfeel fatigue
  • Pints less vibrant than scoops

Salt & Straw earns largely enthusiastic reviews for richly creamy texture, inventive seasonal combinations, and standout classics like Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Honey Lavender, and Arbequina Olive Oil; the brand is good and often considered worth the line. Reviews also flag drawbacks: experimental flavors can be hit-or-miss or overly sweet/rich, some find hype outpaces taste, and pre-packed pints trail fresh scoops.

  • Absolutely scrumptious, high quality, artisanal ice cream! The flavors are inventive but still delicious, and more than once I've been introduced to a new food item via an ice cream flavor they've created (didn't know what okara was before them). Will always get a scoop if I'm around any of their locations!

  • My absolute FAVORITE ice cream! Every flavor is so creamy and delightful, even the ones that I wouldn’t have imagined trying otherwise. Ex. Their thanksgiving release 2-3 years ago featured a thanksgiving feast flavor with gravy and cranberry—I sampled it in store out of curiosity and was blown away by how good it was. Honestly have yet to find another ice cream shop/brand that comes close. Salt & Straw is unmatched

  • Not the biggest ice cream fan, but this is one of the best. Fun, quality flavors!

  • Super unique and rich flavors, it's always fun to check out the new monthly series and I always appreciate the gluten free and vegan options they have!

  • I actually really enjoy salt and straw. I wish they had a location closer to me. I would say one thing unique about this ice cream place as they have a dog ice cream and it is super clean and my dog loves it and he never gets diarrhea with it.

  • Salt and Straw is a delightful ice cream shop that truly stands out with its unique flavor combinations and artisanal approach. The moment you walk in, the rich aroma of freshly made waffle cones draws you in. Each scoop is creamy and rich, with flavors that range from the classic to the adventurous, like Honey Lavender and Pear & Blue Cheese. The seasonal offerings are always a treat, showcasing local ingredients. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, eager to help you choose the perfect blend. Overall, Salt and Straw is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in deliciously inventive ice cream.

  • SO delicious. I love their funky flavors, they always work so well together. 10/10, would absolutely recommend.

  • No words. Just perfect. I love ice cream and Salt and Straw is probably my favorite ice cream brand!

  • Delicious ice cream with unique flavors. My favorite is honey lavender <3

  • If you've had it, you know. The amazing flavor combination and the high-quality ingredients they use make this some of the best ice cream on the planet! Super creamy and perfectly flavorful.

  • DELICIOUS ice cream, with very unique flavors! There are also "normal" flavors , but I recommend trying their more out of the box flavors - you'd be surprised by what you like. I always try to stop by if they have a shop in a city I'm visiting.

  • A must try. So good. They make great combos. Honey lavender and salted caramel are the best.

  • Living in the PNW, Salt and Straw is a delicacy. The ice cream is unbelievably flavorful and interesting. the monthly flavors make it fun to go back and see what new flavors they have created. Highly recommend. Take it from an expert, Arbequina Olive Oil is the best flavor!

  • Salt and Straw always has amazing flavors. Every one I have tried is really rich and creamy

  • I love Salt and Straw! We don’t have them where I live, but I always try to go when we visit a place with one. Hear me out, the olive oil ice cream is so good! And they have really fun seasonal flavors as well.

  • These ice creams are just okay in my opinion, nothing special. I don't understand the hype surrounding this brand. The flavors I tried were decent but not mind-blowing. For the premium price charged, I expected to be wowed by uniquely flavored, ultra-rich ice cream. While the Salt & Straw offerings I sampled were fine, they fell short of justifying the hype.

  • Tbh I think the store smells better than the ice cream tastes. It's good, don't get me wrong, but not great. I think the flavors could be reimagined with more to them and would go further. I would try it once, but I'm not pushing this on people.

  • I visited Salt & Straw in LA back in 2018. I am keen for weird flavors and they did not hold back. I tried dill pickle sorbet and avocado with jam. Both were so unique and honestly delish! They are one of my favorite ice cream places to visit!!
