  • Minimalist aesthetic versatility
  • Lightweight raincoat construction
  • Reliable everyday waterproof performance
  • Durable long-wear materials
  • Limited jacket breathability
  • Shoulder seam water seepage
  • Backpack interior organization scarcity
  • Translucent material blooming discoloration

Rains earns praise in reviews for stylish, genuinely waterproof outerwear that keeps wearers dry in everyday rain and looks sleek and minimal, but it isn’t consistently breathable and can struggle in prolonged downpours. Reviews also note durable, lightweight coats and functional bags, alongside weaknesses like shoulder seam seepage, material scuffing/blooming, limited pockets or structure in some backpacks, and occasional sizing quirks.

  • Love my rains jacket. I have the black long coat. I’m impressed at how the hood actually stay on when I walk, other rain jackets I’ve owned, the hood was never the right shaped and would always fall off my head. The jacket is suuuper lightweight which is perfect for summer!

  • Fashionable, light and effective (my jacket doesn't have a hood which is annoying - my bad decision).

  • I only have one rain jacket from rains but it is everything I never knew I needed form a rain jacket. It was an impulse purchase at Nordstrom years ago and it still looks as good as it did the first day that I bought it. It's flattering, chic, and works as intended.

  • Their material is so innovative and soft and really makes wearing a rain jacket sexier than it should be. Kudos for making rainwear something I want to actually wear.

Sometimes it's hard to find the size I want.

  • I think the aesthetics are nice and it does the job if you live in a place where heavy rain is not a thing :)

It's not really THAT rainproof... I have used their products over the years, as I do enjoy the aesthetics, but there have been plenty of instances where, in heavy rain, water starts soaking through.

  • I have never been more upset with a rucksack. After owning my Rains bag for only a few months, I was walking home one day only to look behind me and realise it had ripped open at a bottom seam and had been sprinkling all my belongings down the block behind me. They're just not well-made.

  • Rains makes some of the best staple rain jackets out there — clean lines, minimal branding, and just the right mix of function and style. They hold up well in real weather without sacrificing aesthetics, which is rare, and extremely valuable in a city like NYC where it swings between thunderstorm and sun within 15 mins. Beyond the outerwear, their gym bags are surprisingly durable and look way more refined than your average duffel. BUT - no pockets in the gym bags docks points for lack of function. However, the puffer jackets - great fit, solid warmth, and they layer easily without feeling bulky. TL;DR: It’s a brand that quietly does a lot right, especially for guys who want gear that’s practical but still looks sharp and modern. Def recommend.

  • Great quality backpacks and other bags. With minimalistic design with wonderful fabrics, they easily blend into any wardrobe.

  • I think every single person in copenhagen has at least one rains product. I have had my rains raincoat for quite a while - and everyone who lives somewhere rainy should own on. stylish, affordable and durable. what's not to like!

  • An excellent rain coat. Especially packable and light weight. I lost my first one to a dog (chewed it up) and I was crushed. I bought in their store and that was a great experience to be able to pick my size.

  • If you have to deal with Midwest downpours on a regular basis, the jacket will be life changing. I also bought the Rolltop Rucksack backpack and love how it can fit my 15" laptop and a day's worth of supplies without looking bulky or weighing too much.

I wish there was a cinch in the classic jackets

  • The most stylish and best quality raincoat ever, every detail was perfectly designed. Love the waterproof backpack too.

The raincoat sizing runs large slightly, not a big problems though, no need to go down a size, just don't expect it to fit perfectly like other jackets you have.

  • I get more compliments on my Rains coat than any other item in my wardrobe. It is fantastic and has held up for 3+ years of regular wear.

  • Great quality, nice minimalist styles.

I have 2 Rains jackets- one dark grey and one see through plastic. The grey is great; the see through plastic is now more like white because of the "blooming" effect that happens - but as a fashion item this is wasn't great!

  • Ordered a green backpack from Rains a few years ago and thought it was super sleek and cool taking it out of the package. I like something that performs well and looks great doing it. Unfortunately after just a couple days of use the rubbery exterior had indentations and markings. There weren't pockets on the inside and despite the sort of stiff material the bag lacked some structure once full. Overall, a very cool looking product but didn't quite pass the utility test for me.

  • I have a Rains coat (see-through). The quality and fit is great, and perfect for rainy weather. The cap keeps you dry. I don't actually wear it on any other day though. It's a bit expensive (I bought it at a sale) but I do think it's worth the money. I believe that you can incorporate it into your style without seeing it as a "just-for-rainy-weather-rain-coat".

  • Good. Stylish. Not crazy expensive. High quality. Keep me dry

  • I have a rain coat from Rains and I love the fit (like a trench coat). Overall I relaly their simple styles (also backpacks which I'm planning to get next). Good price-quality ratio in my opinion.
