  • Reliable everyday waterproof performance
  • Durable long-wear materials
  • Limited jacket breathability
  • Shoulder seam water seepage
  • Backpack interior organization scarcity
  • Translucent material blooming discoloration

Rains earns praise in reviews for stylish, genuinely waterproof outerwear that keeps wearers dry in everyday rain and looks sleek and minimal, but it isn’t consistently breathable and can struggle in prolonged downpours. Reviews also note durable, lightweight coats and functional bags, alongside weaknesses like shoulder seam seepage, material scuffing/blooming, limited pockets or structure in some backpacks, and occasional sizing quirks.

  • I bought an olive green hooded raincoat and was delighted with style and loose fit. I had worn it 4 or 5 times in light rain and all was well. HoweverI was devastated when wearing it for over an hour in heavy rain my T-shirt underneath was soaked over my left shoulder and chest. I contacted rains who suggested that the seams must not be intact and to send photos. I did and they said photos didn’t show seams! They did and I’ve heard nothing since! Really disappointing and poor after sales!

  • Extremely comfortable and stylish. I normally commute to work and my rain jacket has saved me from many bad storms. It does what it was made for. On top of that they just look super nice. I outgrew mine so I plan on getting a new one asap.

  • Great everyday rainwear for affordable pricing. The products itself can last max 3 years, I went through several backpacks already. Unfortunately it is not really sustainable, but the design is cool.

  • Worst customer service ever. Their phone number doesn't work. They don't respond to their emails and now of course the time to return the item is expired. Thanks a lot.

  • There’s a design flaw with their rain jackets where the water seeps through the shoulders seams after prolonged exposure to water/rain :/ defeats the whole raincoat purpose

  • I have really enjoyed the Rains brand. I have their backpack and raincoat. There is a nice upside to rainy days now in that I have a reason to wear them!

    Feedback

The backpack is great for waterproof use but it could benefit from a few more interior pockets. I find I have to make some organization & storage sacrifices on the days I bring my Rains backpack to work.

  • It does stop the rain, that's for sure! For those days it's great and I really like the shade of beige in which I've got my jacket. I also have a laptop sleeve and it is doing its job properly.

It can get a little bit hot under the jacket and I can't sometimes arrange the top "collar" part, I think that happens because of quite heavy metal buttons.

  • I love the design and functionality.
