Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • I've only tried their new heat protectant but it's worked really well for me! My hair is actually much softer, silkier, shinier, and more manageable when I use it before drying my hair.

  • Expensive but effective. I’ve tried a gift set and it worked well for my hair. It’s proven to repair hair and the results showed for me. I haven’t repurchased because it’s expensive and I have a lot of hair, but if you have the budget for it then give it a try!

K18 Hair Mask did the most for me, if you’re deciding between the two (Not sponsored at all, I’ve just tried both out and had better results from K18).

  • This stuff really does help repair hair. I've been using it for years and I've been able to grow it much longer than I used to be able to thanks to this.

    Feedback

I do wish they had unscented or less scented options, some of the fragrances are way too heavy

  • I use their no 6 product after every shower. has improved overall hair health

  • I've been using the Olaplex line for two years now. The Bonding Oil and No.6 are my holy grails!

    Feedback

The shampoo and conditioner are expensive and the quality is meh. There are definitely better repairing shampoos/conditioners out there.

  • I used this when my hair was bleached and it kept it healthy. Didn’t feel worth paying for after my hair grew out but I’d definitely use again if I had bleached or dyed hair.

  • I have loved almost every single product from this brand! I use the oil almost daily and number 3,5,6 weekly! They recently released 9 which is a lighter weight version of 6 that I am extremely excited to try!!

    Feedback

My only qualm is that their shampoo (number 4) is not pH balanced so I do not use it anymore. I’ve seen them respond to feedback (creating the lightweight version of 6) and I’m hopeful they can adjust their formula to make the shampoo as healthy as possible for our hair and scalps

  • I've used the no. 3 and while it made my hair softer, I have doubts about the ingredients. You will only see effects if you keep using the product but it's not meant to have the effects last a long time

  • My hairdresser used the Olaplex no.7 bond hair oil, and I am obsessed with it! It is a lightweight oil to use after you dry your hair that adds shine without the greasy weight that sometimes occurs after applying oil. I also picked up no.6 to use on towel-dried hair before applying heat through a hair dryer. So far, my hair is looking less frizzy than before.

  • My Hairdresser recommended OLAPLEX for my thin hair. The product has helped with the thinning and overall health of my hair. I use is 2x a month and love it.

  • This is by far my favorite shampoo and conditioner duo. I've recommended it to many others and swear by it. My hair salon uses it, so sometimes I buy it directly from there or can easily purchase at Sephora.

  • I have struggled my whole life with frizzy hair, I have wavy hair. This was a life changer. I love #6 and #7. I usually mix these two products every morning and it makes my hair look great and gives a shine throughout the day.

  • I think some of their products are probably unnecessary (esp. for people with brown/undyed hair), but some of them are complete game changers for processed hair.

The conditioner is a little thick for the type of bottle it comes in, and a different bottle could be more efficient. But not really worth it if it makes it more expensive.

  • When I was growing my hair out I started using the full product line of olaplex. I think a lot of education is needed on how to use this product properly because I had a long phase of trial and error before I started looking up youtube videos of how to properly use the system. I found if you pick and choose certain products they just straight up do the opposite of what you're using them for. Like using the No. 3 on it's own really gave my hair an unpleasant texture. But using No. 0 and 3 together with the entire rest of the line gave me the result I was originally expecting. But not much about the packaging or the in store displays makes that clear outside of the numbering system. If you try this, do your research about how to use it and if it's even good for your hair type and goals.

More clarity in the packaging OR in the in store displays around how to properly use this product!

  • It’s wonderful for your hair. The shampoo can be too much if you have an oily scalp so be careful with it or you’ll have to wash your hair more often. The conditioner is great as well as the leave in conditioner and the hair oil. I love that the hair oil has a built in heat protectant.

    Feedback

Clarifying shampoos would be great as well as scalp balancing products for controlling oil.

  • I have to admit I was hesitant to try this for a while because it felt so expensive, but after getting the shampoo + conditioner, it's really clear why. It's worth every penny, my hair has never felt softer or better.

  • I’ve bleached my poor hair several times in the last 12 months and this was the key to bringing it back to life. If I ran my hands through my hair, I would get little pieces of breakage everywhere... Yikes! The hair mask #3 has done wonders for me. The combination that got my hair back to normal was my usual shampoo, Olaplex purple shampoo and using the Olaplex #3 mask as conditioner. It’s not the cheapest hair care on the market, but I think it’s worth the money.

  • Olaplex is my go-to product before, during, and after getting my hair dyed. Especially N3, which stole my heart, and the bonding oil, which is great to carry in my purse and take everywhere.

    Feedback

I wish OLAPLEX would create a bigger packaging to get more product, something from 500ml to 1L.

  • I discovered Olaplex during a visit to my hairdressers. As someone of mixed heritage, I really struggle to find hair products that are equal parts moisturising and effective while not leaving my hair feel so heavy. I use No. 3, which is their best seller. No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8.

The only thing I would say is a drawback is the price. For me, it's a lot to spend on a hair product but I do see and feel the effects of the product. If you are not too sure of what products are best for your hair, I would recommend visiting the brand site and taking a deep dive into each product.
