OLAPLEX delivers noticeable repair and shine for many—especially bleached and color‑treated hair—with standouts like No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo frequently praised in reviews. However, reviews also flag drawbacks: some experience dryness, heaviness or greasiness, residue, overly strong toning or staining from purple products, mixed or short‑lived results, and concerns about overuse or sensitivity, making OLAPLEX effective but not universally foolproof.

When I was growing my hair out I started using the full product line of olaplex. I think a lot of education is needed on how to use this product properly because I had a long phase of trial and error before I started looking up youtube videos of how to properly use the system. I found if you pick and choose certain products they just straight up do the opposite of what you're using them for. Like using the No. 3 on it's own really gave my hair an unpleasant texture. But using No. 0 and 3 together with the entire rest of the line gave me the result I was originally expecting. But not much about the packaging or the in store displays makes that clear outside of the numbering system. If you try this, do your research about how to use it and if it's even good for your hair type and goals.

More clarity in the packaging OR in the in store displays around how to properly use this product!
It’s wonderful for your hair. The shampoo can be too much if you have an oily scalp so be careful with it or you’ll have to wash your hair more often. The conditioner is great as well as the leave in conditioner and the hair oil. I love that the hair oil has a built in heat protectant.

Clarifying shampoos would be great as well as scalp balancing products for controlling oil.
I have to admit I was hesitant to try this for a while because it felt so expensive, but after getting the shampoo + conditioner, it's really clear why. It's worth every penny, my hair has never felt softer or better.
I’ve bleached my poor hair several times in the last 12 months and this was the key to bringing it back to life. If I ran my hands through my hair, I would get little pieces of breakage everywhere... Yikes! The hair mask #3 has done wonders for me. The combination that got my hair back to normal was my usual shampoo, Olaplex purple shampoo and using the Olaplex #3 mask as conditioner. It’s not the cheapest hair care on the market, but I think it’s worth the money.
Olaplex is my go-to product before, during, and after getting my hair dyed. Especially N3, which stole my heart, and the bonding oil, which is great to carry in my purse and take everywhere.

I wish OLAPLEX would create a bigger packaging to get more product, something from 500ml to 1L.

I discovered Olaplex during a visit to my hairdressers. As someone of mixed heritage, I really struggle to find hair products that are equal parts moisturising and effective while not leaving my hair feel so heavy. I use No. 3, which is their best seller. No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8.

The only thing I would say is a drawback is the price. For me, it's a lot to spend on a hair product but I do see and feel the effects of the product. If you are not too sure of what products are best for your hair, I would recommend visiting the brand site and taking a deep dive into each product.
A great product for dry hair that can handle a heavier product. I find that I can only use the shampoo and conditioner on occasion or else it's too heavy/rich for my hair!

OLAPLEX didn't quite live up to the hype for me. It did improve the overall health of my hair, but the damage reduction wasn't as dramatic as I'd hoped. It's a decent product, but not a miracle worker.
I used Olaplex hair perfector for several weeks. My hair did feel stronger, split ends were healing, it felt very moisturized, the only drawback for me was it left my hair a little oily. Other than that, my hair felt amazing, my brush flew right through it after the shower, no tangles!
I really like the product because I feel like it does make my hair softer but if you are looking for something clean, this is not the product for you! I scanned it with the Yuka app and it came up with BHT and Phenoxyethanol and other harmful endocrine disrupting ingredients.

Way too expensive for what it is will not purchase again. Olapex is overrated in my opinion.
I don't color or bleach my hair anymore, but I still use Olaplex. I have used the shampoo, conditioner, and a couple of the other treatment products. It's the first thing I think to purchase when my hair is in a terrible state, feeling damaged or brittle. It's a household name.
I tried the N3 hair treatment it was amazing it definitely restore hair moisture and makes them healthier. I absolutely love it🥰🌸❤️❤️.
Keeps my hair so healthy and smelling good all the time
I noticed that with the shampoo my hair can feel stripped after using it it creates this weird texture that I dont care for. But the smell of the products are amazing and I love the leave in treatment and the hair mask for damaged or bleached hair.
GAME CHANGING products! Whenever I use any of their products my hair feels the best it’s ever been. I get hydration and volume at the same time. Prices can vary but overall I love this brand.

It’s a cult classic for a reason. It works SUPER WELL. Feels almost healing to your strands. If you need a good mask, hydration, or to smooth frizz. This is it.
I've tried a few things from Olaplex. The no.7 bonding oil is great, not too sticky, a little goes a long way. The no.4 and 5 shampoo and conditioner did not do much for me and are a bit too expensive to see no results. I also felt like more hair than expected fell out but I can't say for sure since that can be caused by sOOO many factors. The no.3 was a waste of time. In conclusion, love the oil, leave the rest (for me) :)
This brand is overhyped. It works about as well as any deep conditioner I can get from Sally’s Beauty. I have been highlighting my hair for the past 20 years and this didn’t impress me.
I feel like there’s comparable cheaper brands on the market. It is alright. In my opinion just a loud brand name. I got Bond strengthening cream and compared to half priced ones from other popular brands….and you know- same results
