Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

I drink Oatly every morning. In general, oat milk is my go-to non-dairy option, and Oatly doesn't have the grainy texture or off flavor of other oat milk brands. As someone who has no issues digesting dairy and likes whole milk in my coffee, I'm here to say Oatly is still my first pick.
My favorite milk alternative! Super creamy in coffee.
Feedback
I would prefer fewer additives.

I primary drink oat milk. This is by far the best one. It’s closest to half and half for texture in your coffee

One of the better tasting oat milks, but not my favorite. Not a big fan of the ingredients either.

The best of all oat milks! Other oat milks tend to be a little grainy, but I’ve never found that with Oatly. Great creamy taste, wonderful with coffee or cereal.

A little pricey, but worth it.
One of my favorite oat milks. The barista blend froths and doesn’t have a slimy texture that some other brands have. The flavor is great too!
Oatly is the it-girl of oat milk brands. Perhaps overhyped due to viral marketing, but it's still a quality product. It has good consistency, and besides the fact that I think it's weird to eat cereal with "milk" made out of a cereal, I do it anyway because its one of the only non-dairy milks that I don't think are gross to straight up drink without blending it into something. When I worked in a coffee shop, this was the oat milk we used specifically because it was a consistent and solid product.
I <3 oat milk! I think Oatly is pretty good tasting and has a good consistency compared to other oat milk I've tried.

Cheaper! Oats are so cheap :)
I really love Oat Milk but Oatly has a really bizarre film that I don't enjoy. I've had Oatly a number of times and the only version I really find decent is the chocolate version. Oatly has also made me breakout but it could just be me.
Feedback
The texture is a bit off, feeling filmy. It's like I had pedialite with oat flavors.
The oat milk to beat in my opinion. I’ve tried many brands, but nothing seems to froth quite as well as the Oatly Barista blend. Absolutely love it in coffee!

Can be tough to find, and is often on backorder on the Oatly site.
When oatly launched, I was a huge fan and was excited for non-dairy milk to be mainstream. After it's now been around for a while, there are just cleaner options out there. The branding is cute and I like the founder a lot.

The additives really prevent me from wanting to purchase Oatly, I go for options that have no added oils.
I was really into trying oatmilk recently and this was one of the ones I tried. The taste was good and it frothed well, but I would not repurchase because of the gums in the ingredient list.

I want a more simple ingredient list.
Oatly barista blend is by far my favorite milk for lattes. It holds up well to steaming and froths nicely. I actually prefer the barista blend to the “regular” blend for eating with cereal and the like.

I would love to have flavors or even a creamier blend!

I was definitely on the oat milk train for a while, but I'm not a fan of the additives in Oatly, as I don't want to be drinking oil in my milk.
Feedback
The product is super processed, which is a turn-off for me.
Everyone knows that Oatly is one of the better oat milk brands out there, but with the market being flooded with options now, nothing makes me feel that I need to choose Oatly over the others. It’s good, for sure, but it isn’t mind blowingly good. No complaints!

I tried their Oatly ice cream, specifically the raspberry swirl one. It was pretty good, it's a really good raspberry swirl, but the ice cream is a little plain. It does taste a little like froyo which is pretty good.
Don't get me wrong, Oatly is creamy and great for lattes. It foams and doesn't seem to get that burnt flavor that almond milk does, BUT if I'm trying to choose a healthy milk alternative, I don't want one of the top ingredients to be canola oil (they label it as rapeseed oil).
Feedback
It's delicious if you aren't worried about health implications, but as someone that tries to avoid high inflammatory foods I typically skip on Oatly.

So delicious. Super creamy and is great for everything - baking, cereal, coffee.

A little pricey. I wish they formulated without vegetable oil.
