Reviews mention

  • Refined, natural-leaning fragrances
  • Gentle, sensitive-skin formulas
  • Smooth, comfortable application
  • Attractive, sustainable packaging
  • Inconsistent odor protection longevity
  • White residue and shirt staining
  • Occasional gritty, sticky texture
  • Body wash sometimes feels drying

Native earns praise for clean ingredients, standout scents (Coconut & Vanilla, Cucumber & Mint, Lilac & White Tea, Citrus & Herbal Musk) and comfortable, non-irritating wear for many, but reviews say performance is inconsistent: the deodorant often fades by midday, struggles in heat/workouts, can leave white residue or shirt stains, and some experience rashes or gritty texture. Reviews of body wash and hair care skew positive for gentle lather and pleasant aromas, though a few find body wash drying and shampoos underwhelming. Overall, Native is a good natural option if you don’t sweat heavily and will reapply; heavy sweaters may need stronger protection.

  • I HATED this. I only tried the deodorant, but it burned my armpits and did nothing to help with body odor or sweating. I stuck with it for two months and never ONCE saw any benefit or improvement. I’m a super active person, so maybe that played a factor into the effectiveness of the product, but I know multiple other people who had a less than ideal experience with this. The body wash dried my skin out a little too much for my liking as well.

  • So far i've tried their Fluoride Toothpaste, Body Sunscreen, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Mask, Body Wash, and Deodorant. I think the products are fine; they're relatively simple and work as intended. I'm not a fan of the tacky "Candy Cane" or "Gummy Bear" scented products, and I'm really not a fan of the companies unwillingness to disclose what they are putting in their fragrance. Many companies brand themselves as "Safe, Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, etc," while hiding unsafe chemicals behind the "Fragrance/Parfum" ingredient label. While it's hard to tell if Native belongs in that category, since they're unwilling to be transparent about their fragrances, I for one would rather be safe than sorry and not use their products.

  • I'm all for clean products, and this worked for the first year, but then it stopped working on me. It stopped masking smells and I also couldn't get used to feeling oily in the pits. I like their scents, but unfortunately this product was not meant for longterm use for me.

  • Huge fan! I love how many scents there are and new ones are always coming in. I have tried MANY natural deodorants and these ones really work! I am really sensitive to baking soda so I get the sensitive skin version and I love it! I also have the body sunscreen and it’s lovely. Spreads nicely and smells amazing.

  • Love love love the scents Native has and I do love their deodorant and soap, but their hair care just doesn't do anything for my hair. It just weighs it down. Could be my hair type (fine and straight). I do love their deodorant in the cardboard containers. I find it works very well esp after a swipe of glycolic acid under the arms (kills bacteria). I am currently using citrus and herbal musk, which I love. Tempted to try the pumpkin spice....

Package shampoos in something other than plastic. Offer perfume solids of certain scents.

  • I wanted to find an alternative deodorant with less chemicals, I figured this would be a great start. The smell was kind of pleasant and it applies smoothly. However it made my underarms swell after a couple hours. Not sure which ingredient caused this, but it was immediately a no for me. I can’t risk my health trying to be healthy lol. Hopefully it works for someone else but it’s a no for me.

  • It's pretty effective for a natural deodorant, but like most other natural deodorants, I feel like I need to reapply. Love that they've come out with recyclable packaging. Some of their scents are better than others, but the Coconut Vanilla is a winner for me.

The deodorant can be "flaky" and come off on clothes, etc. which is a bummer.

  • I have used two different deodorants and body washes. Overall, love the smell of all of the products and have been good for my eczema prone skin.

The deodorant does last long, but wish for all products scent would linger past the initial swipe or scrub of the product. But given it is a more clean company, I understand the motivation of it not having such a lingering smell!

  • I recently started using Native's body wash and I am in love! It convinced me to switch from the body wash i've been using for almost a decade. I tried the White Tea & Lilac scent, which smells great, and leaves my sensitive skin feeling clean, smooth and hydrated.

  • Great customer service, love the low-waste mission

Baking soda formula which gave me a reaction, the "sensitive" option didn't work very well

  • The smells are amazing and it glides nicely

Expensive for what you get and does not always hold for intense activities.

  • I tired Native after running out of Corpus while traveling, it was nowhere to be found in a 500 mile radius. It works well for an accessibly priced deodorant that's natural/aluminum-free. Not in love with drugstore quality fragrances but it did the job.

More innovative smaller/condensed packaging would be great.

  • I am a casual user of Native- use it probably about 1/2 time, and honestly I only use deodorant like MAYBE a few times a week. My thought is that this one works pretty well for a natural deodorant, it has a good texture and great fragrances. Love their mission and their growth- as a not particularly sweaty or stinky person- this definitely makes the cut for use. If you buy online you can get a plastic free version which is super unique- I wish they would sell this in store too! Their mini ones are also great and super cute- good for a gym bag, purse or in your work desk!

The product has left some weird coloring and consistency paste on some of my nicer and silkier work tops but this is kind of par for the course over time for any deo.

  • I really wanted to love Native's deodorant because I appreciate the clean ingredients and eco-conscious approach. Unfortunately, after a few days of use, I developed redness and a burning sensation under my arms. I later found out this is a common reaction to the baking soda in the formula. It's disappointing because it smells great and goes on smoothly, but my skin just couldn’t tolerate it. If you have sensitive skin, I’d recommend trying their baking soda–free version instead.

  • I can't use deodorant with aluminum in it and before discovering native none of the natural offerings worked very well. This works as well as if not better than conventional deodorant.

  • I use their toothpaste and deodorant and really like it. I have been through many tubes already!

  • Smells nice but just, doesn't work at all. I might as well be putting perfume in my pits. And so expensive for something that doesn't address BO / sweat at all!

  • Just tried Native deodorant, and I’m in love! Made with natural ingredients, it's gentle on the skin and provides all-day freshness. Plus, the scents are divine! If you’re looking to switch to a clean, effective deodorant, Native is a total game-changer.

  • The thought of a “natural” deodorant really appeals to me because I am concerned about the cancer-causing ingredients in aluminum containing deodorant. The scent options for native are amazing but unfortunately this product made me smell worse than wearing no deodorant at all. I have to stick to the unnatural stuff for now.

  • The smells are good but they dont help much with sweating
