Muji wins strong reviews for minimalist, well‑made essentials that generally perform—from beloved 0.38–0.5 gel pens and high‑quality notebooks to durable organizers, travel containers, diffusers, and select apparel—yet the brand draws criticism for inconsistent clothing quality/fit, occasional product misses (cleaning tools, some suitcases), and prices that feel high for basics. Reviews also praise the serene in‑store experience and timeless design while noting limited color variety and that certain items smudge or skip, so discerning shoppers should target stationery, storage, travel accessories, and home goods over more variable categories.

Love love love the stationary and the snacks. Hope to try more products in the future such as their skincare line.

Absolutely the best most high quality stuff. It’s the stuff you really didn’t think you needed. I’ve had my travel bag for over 10yrs and it’s in perfect condition to this day. Can’t say enough good things about quality
I love stopping into Muji when I travel. The stores are beautiful and well curated. I have a few household items and they've all been good quality and designed well. They also have nice denim and hats! Would recommend :)
For the price, the design and product range of Muji products can’t be beat. Everything they offer is thoughtfully considered, practical, nicely designed and reasonably priced. I also stock up on their great pens and linen summer clothes.
Has anyone else noticed Muji clothes aren't great quality?
I'm a big fan of Muji and have bought everything from kitchenware to storage and toiletries from them. However I've always found their clothing to be really "meh". It always seems that their clothes don't wash so well, typically develop those little fluff balls and start looking pretty terrible after only a few washes. Anyway, I'm wondering whether this is just me, or something others have struggled with?
I swear by the muji face pads. It’s the only product I use because I feel like it doesn’t fully soak up & waste my products.

I wish their products were easier to find in person.
One of my favorite stores. I really love their stationary, pens, and organization items. I also have purchased home stainless still bowls and pans for cooking that have held up really well. The design is sleek, minimalist and modern.

At times I wish they had an easy online ordering presence and that they ran more sales/promotions to drive down costs.
I almost exclusively use Muji pens the gel ballpoint ones. Mostly the black ones, but I do have other colors. Besides liking the way they write on paper (they write so smoothly), the actual design of the pen is really sexy and minimalist (which is on brand).
I'm a Muji fan for life! The first time I traveled to Asia I came across one of these stores and fell in love. It's a simple, clean vibe with decent pricing. I particularly love their stationery and organizing materials. I still have a lot of the products I bought nearly 10 years ago. I haven't been drawn to their clothes, but I'm sure they're quite well made.
Mini creates great pens. I like how well they write, ✍🏼 they are very smooth and precise. They don’t smear and they are fine point too so you can draw and write in a small space.
It started with an obsession with their pens. And then notebooks. Then socks, and then long-sleeve shirts. Slowly, our home and my wardrobe have become completely mujified. It's all great quality, minimalistic and good-looking, and I honestly have nothing against being an unpaid Muji ambassador. Currently eyeing their furniture.
I love going into Muji stores and browsing all their home, travel-friendly, and art supply products! I’ve been pleased with their spiral line notebooks, gel pens, eyelash curler, and travel bottles. Their products are a balance of utility, simplicity, and often very minimalistic with neutral colors and no branding. The prices are incredibly cost effective for mid-range quality. Their product line also spans most household needs, so it’s a great place to shop when stocking up an apartment or filling gaps or needs you’ll looking for for an office or bathroom. The in-store experience is better in my opinion than the site because their displays often have the products out to see better and try.

muji has my favorite stationary supplies for the home office. The notebooks are excellent and sit flat. the paper is high quality and smooth.
Muji is SUCH a cool brand. I typically shop from their stationary collection - paper, pens, etc. They actually make my favorite writing pen of all time - their 0.38mm ballpoint. It writes so smoothly & it's so crisp! Haven't tried their apparel but have purchased some home goods and umbrella. Despite things being affordable and made out of what seems like cheap materials, everything holds up really well! I definitely recommend shopping IRL in their stores so you can check things out, try pens, etc. Highly recommend though! An affordable option for high quality items.
I use Muji pens for everything. They write really well, and I still use muji pens that I bought years ago. Muji products are super affordable, and I’d highly recommend.

Love the Muji experience. The store makes you want to organize every area of your life 😆 Products are designed to be very simple - so colour, texture, and variety = very neutral/nature-inspired. I love their aroma diffusers!
I really love this brand. They have everything from bedding to notebooks to cutlery. All of their clothes are plain and simple, in a good way.

The website is a little hard to navigate and doesn't show all of the products the stores have.
The store is a godly experience when you go shopping, especially the one in Canada and they have everything you could ever need for a dorm and everyday life, they best IKEA I love their products, the slippers and glass ware is my favorite
A friend gifted me their bedding and I really like it. Super soft and great quality. I'd love to try some of their other products as well.
