Nice cleanser overall! Gently exfoliating and a nice ritual of leaving it on for a bit as a mini-mask (I do so in the shower). I do view it more of a treatment than an every day cleanser, as I feel some residue on my face after I wash it off and it didn't feel like it took my sunscreen off . Will definitely continue to use as part of a double cleanse!

Really like the product, but I do not think I’ll repurchase at the full price.

This cleanser is lovely. I use it as a second cleanser after I take most of my makeup off with an oil balm and it functions as both a mask and a cleanser. It leaves my skin super soft with the lightest bit of exfoliation. I don't really have any complaints and would repurchase if it wasn't $65 a bottle. I will say, if I noticed it cleared up acne or made my skin look like no other product does, I wouldn't mind spending that much.

The packaging is really nice and I enjoy using the face wash. The leave on for a minute for a flash mask does feel a bit gimmicky but it feels nice on my face so I’m ok with it. It’s definitely not enough to remove spf/makeup but makes for a great second cleanse. The price point is VERY steep for a face wash, so I would consider repurchasing if it was less expensive. There are too many other wonderful cleansers on the market for a fraction of the price. It’s good, but not that good!

I am so impressed by the cleanser. I typically never repurchase the same face wash because I enjoy trying new products and don’t notice much of a difference between cleansers, but I love the way the Motif cleanser makes my face feel so soft. After using for a few months, I think it makes my skin look clearer too. Definitely a new staple product.

Motif's Abundance cleanser was the first Thingdrop I could snag, and I am so happy to have gotten it! This cleanser is a delightfully rich and creamy one with a little bit of physical exfoliation. This is not a cleanser for anyone who wants something foamy and leaves you feeling squeaky clean. This left me with a nice hydrated feeling but might feel like it leaves a film to anyone not anticipating what Abundance is bringing to the table. I might have preferred if the luffa bits - what I believe is providing the exfoliation - were left out. I like to do my cleansing and exfoliating separately, but that's just me. I'm still working my way through this bottle, and I am happy with the results. It's pricey and would be an excellent gift for someone trying to get into skincare but it might be doing a bit too much for someone with a highly curated regimen that works for them. But hey, isn't that true of anything? Overall, very excited by this product and excited to watch this brand.

For my skincare, I prefer using dermatologist-developed/tested formulas, so I was excited about this one! I really wouldn't call this a cleanser since it doesn't do much cleaning. While I do personally double-cleanse, people who are looking for a one-step cleanser would probably not like this. It is more of a gentle daily acid exfoliator, but I would rather just use my leave-on toning acid which is more effective than this product. I understand that based on the price point and product experience, Motif is gearing more toward the luxury market, but considering their first product is not a very effective cleanser or a mask, I'm not sure if people would be willing to spend so much on it. The scent and texture are inoffensive - it is creamy and smells herbaceous from the clay and lightly floral. My skin is also not dry afterward, but I also think that has to do with the fact that it isn't great at cleaning your skin.

I've never been really excited about high-end cleansers, but it's clear that this is a high quality product and feels so luxurious to use. It's creamy, has a great/natural scent, and has tiny grains that help to exfoliate while softening/hydrating skin at the same time. I'm a fan!

I am a skincare enthusiast and was very excited to try this brand and products at a discount for the Thingdrop. The cleanser came beautifully packaged, and the tube itself feels very luxurious and high quality. The smell is amazing and not too strong. I have combination-oily skin and have always had a hard time finding products that don't leave my skin feeling too oily or too tight and dry. This cleanses beautifully if you don't have any makeup on - I don't think it would clean makeup off though - and when it washes away it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and plump but not greasy or oily. I love using it as a mask as well and I truly see a difference in the brightness and plumpness of my skin after using it for a week. All that said, at $65/bottle I will not be repurchasing. My standard go-to cleanser is already expensive at around $40/bottle, but it lasts me about 5-6 months. This small bottle will last maybe 1 month if used every day, and only a couple months if used sparingly. Unfortunately, I just can't justify the price tag given that it doesn't cleanse makeup and won't last very long. The only way I could ~maybe~ justify it is if I were to buy it as a weekly mask, but then you wouldn't get the benefits of regular use.

Beautiful packaging, pleasant but subtle scent and minimal lather that has minor exfoliants. I saw excellent results in just a few days of usage, with a sort of rejuvenated plumpness. Goes on like a cleanser but feels kind of like a mud mask. Definitely recommend.

I purchased this through the recent thing drop! I really like it, it’s clean and the branding is good- but I am not sure I’d spend the full $65 on it- it was discounted for the thingdrop.

I really wanted to like this facewash but it didn't work for me. My skin didn't feel clean after using it and I didn't love the feel. My skin texture is slightly oily.

If you have oily skin or an oily T-zone, move along, this cleanser is not for you. If you prefer cleansers like YTTP's Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser, Krave Beauty's Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser, or even Cerave's Foaming Cleanser, again, keep it moving. The cleanser's marketed for all skin types, but the surfactants in this cleanser aren't efficient enough to effectively cleanse an oily t-zone. The cleanser leaves a residue on the skin that functions like an occlusive barrier. The residue was an absolute nightmare when trying to get a proper cleanse, especially on oily skin. I can see it being a dream if you have dry skin. Despite the cleanser not working out for my skin type, I thought that the packaging and branding felt premium. The scent was nice and the overall experience was spa-like. That said, the skincare market is saturated at every price point. Consumers are getting smarter than ever and understand formulations and what actives to look out for. $65 for a gimmicky 2-in-1 mask-to-cleanser works for a very niche market (i.e. the same crowd that still believes in Creme de la Mer in 2023). I can see the formulation, price point, and packaging being very successful with an older affluent demographic in one-off boutiques in coastal neighborhoods like the Palisades.

I just started using this face wash so I will have to wait another week or two to fully review the product, but I love the packaging, the aroma and consistency of the face wash so far. I have been loving working it into my routine and feeling like I am getting a little extra TLC. I don’t use it to remove makeup. I mainly am writing this review to call out the incredible customer service! I had typed the incorrect address resulting in a hold at USPS. Motif called USPS on my behalf (even though I offered, since it was my mistake), re-shipped the package to the corrected address, included an extra face wash and I think the tissue paper was scented. Incredible care put into my customer experience so I can only imagine the care put into crafting this product.

I really enjoy this cleanser, the way it makes my skin feel refreshed and moisturized afterwards is such a nice feeling. I do not find it too harsh, living in a cold wintery area. I also like how you only use it for 30-60s as opposed to other masks which want you to wait a longer time before removing from your face. It goes on easily and washes off just as easy which I also like. No lingering residue on my face or in the sink. I have combination skin and found this product to not be too harsh on my drier areas either. The packaging is very nice and is comparable to high end skincare brands, they do not put a lot of extra fluff and stuff in the package so the reduced waste is nice.

This is my new travel cleanser and I love it. So convenient that the bottle is also 3.4 ML.

I think my skin was too oily and sensitive for this. It smelled nice, and I imagine would be great for some people, but it wasn’t for me.

I've actually quite enjoyed using this face wash! I like the gentle exfoliant in it. I don't use it as much day and night time wash, but I usually do use it once every two days, or once a day. I think it's gentle enough to use at least once a day, I usually use it after working out. I wouldn't use it as a face wash to get off makeup or anything as it doesn't suds up or anything. But I've been using it for a couple of months and haven't noticed any adverse effects, and I do feel like my dark spots have gone away quicker.
