Misen earns positive reviews for sharp, well-balanced knives that hold an edge and feel comfortable for long prep, though some users report initial sharpness fading. • This is my first carbon steel nonstick pan, so it’s very different from traditional nonstick pans that I’m accustomed to using. While it does take a little to get used to working with this pan, Misen’s instructions and support are great, and once you become more comfortable, it’s an amazing pan.

  • The chef’s nice is very nice especially for the price point. It’s very sharp and is a noticeable difference from cheaper ones I have used previously I did buy it for half off and think the price point meets the quality of the product.

  • Amazing! Love the blue color and it keeps our nice knives safe and secure. The magnets make it able to be modular so you can customize it for your drawer and it’s shallow so it can fit anywhere! We have really shallow and thin drawers so this worked perfectly.

  • I’ve used the Misen 8" Chef’s Knife for years and it’s become my daily workhorse. Even without a single professional sharpening, it’s held an impressively sharp edge and still slices cleanly through onions, herbs, and proteins. The balance and handle feel secure and comfortable for long prep sessions, and the blade geometry makes quick work of chopping and dicing. It’s not fussy—just reliable, consistent, and easy to reach for. If you’re looking for a go-to chef’s knife that performs well day in and day out, this one has earned its spot on my counter.

  • I’ve backed a couple of Misen’s Kickstarter campaigns and would probably own more from them if I could afford it. I think I’ve gone through 2 or 3 Dutch ovens where the enamel wore away to the point I had to discard them, but I have not encountered any problems so far with theirs. Their carbon-steel nonstick also works well. Update a month after the review, I’m starting to see some wear,

  • The knives are great, they have a nice grip and have lasted me several years. The same cannot be said about their non-stick pan, they don't last more than a year. At first I thought it was a defective issue, their customer service was great and sent me a replacement, but I now have the exact same issue. I am very careful with my kitchen utensils, clean and store them according to instructions.

  • Bought their carbon steel pan but it was so weird that it had a long handle for no reason; it could barely fit in my oven. Also, seasoning it was a very consuming process but it didn't seem to season well. All the layers were easily stripped after a wash and now the pan is all rusted.

  • Bought a full knives set and they look and work great

Very sharp to start but that faded quickly.

  • I've been using Misen since pre-Covid - I've bought their knives, nonstick pans, oven steel. Time and time again, I'm impressed by the quality of the products and their willingness to continue to iterate on their products - making them better for the consumer!

  • Purchased a stainless steel pan a couple years ago and it's still going strong. I'm a kitchen minimalist so it was important that I have a small but reliable rotation of pots and pans. Misen's stainless steel pan is the perfect medium size for me. I use it for everything!

  • I absolutely love my Misen chef's knife. It's really sharp and has a good weight to it which makes it easy to use. The quality is great and has held up nicely after almost two years of use.

  • I bought their chef's knife and loved it. I learned to cook (and chop) with a standard, german-shaped chef's knife and despite years of trying gyutus and santukos never got used to those shapes. So when I had the chance to buy a Japanese-style blade in a German shape, I jumped on it. The knife is very sharp, stays sharp, and is easy to hone and sharpen. It's comfortable to use with a classic choked grip for long chopping sessions and the blue handle looks extra nice. And without the bolster it's easy to sharpen the full length of the blade.

    I'd like a 6-inch version!

  • I've tried their Chef's knife and their carbon steel pans so far. Knife was great, especially compared to my IKEA knives. If you're able to get in on their Kickstarter early bird deals, those tend to be quite good relative to other brands on the market.

Still figuring out the carbon steel pan and if I like it, which is how I landed on a 3 instead of a 4. Would also note that if you back them on Kickstarter, don't bank on orders being fulfilled on-time (though in their defense, delays lately were mostly pandemic-related).

  • I absolutely love these knives. Originally I got them as a gift for my partner but they were so great that I’ve given them as gifts to different family members. The simplicity of the product and packaging are great. Can’t underestimate investing in a good set of knives—it’s a game changer

I wish they had more light colors when I first purchased but I do love how different the blue is!

  • Super minimal packaging, and lovely knives, really really love them. Compare well with my expensive Japanese one, but at a much more affordable price. Would recommend!

Some faster shipping options would be nice

  • These were the first set we bought when moving in and still work great! While the bread knife doesn't see much use, the other two have been quite reliable for our uses.
