MERIT reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Creamy, blendable complexion stick
  • Lightweight, skin-like formulas
  • Elegant, minimalist packaging
  • Sensitive-skin friendly formulations
  • Fragile, finicky component packaging
  • Sheer, quickly fading pigments
  • Dryness and creasing on texture
  • Inconsistent shade matching accuracy

MERIT earns strong reviews as a minimalist, “your-skin-but-better” line that blends easily, flatters a natural look, and suits sensitive skin, with standouts like the Minimalist Complexion Stick, Flush Balm blushes, Day Glow highlighter, Bronze Balm, Clean Lash mascara, and Shade Slick lip oils. Reviews also flag weaknesses: color products that fade quickly, sheer coverage that won’t satisfy full-coverage users, packaging issues (sticks breaking, messy pumps, mascara cap stickiness), occasional dryness/creasing on textured or dry skin, and inconsistent shade matches for some complexions.

  • Love all of the merit products i use and theyve become staples in my makeup routine (the bronzer stick which is so easy to apply bronzy contour and the brow gel). Love that it doesnt clog my pores!! Really want to try some other merit products to add to my makeup collection.

  • LOVED MERIT. It's been a minute since I've loved a brand so so much. Ordered a bunch of things from Merit. Especially loved the blush and the perfecting stick! The blush is long lasting and just a stunning cream blush. The perfecting stick just blends like butter and gives the perfect day to day coverage. The lip oil is pigmented and leaves a beautiful stain. Can't wait to try the mascara and the highlighter next, highly recommend!

  • I have almost every item in the Merit daily lineup. My stand outs are the Complexion Stick - convenient packaging and the product itself is so skin-like (I've gone through 3 tubes), the Flush Balm - easy every-day blush, and the brush to go with the Complexion Stick. I've also tried the Shade Slick, Day Glow HIghlighting Balm, and the Bronzing Stick. My only complaint that the color products can easily blend away if you rub it in too much, but the light coverage is what makes it so wearable on a daily basis. I also had a great customer service experience when I got the Complexion Stick in the wrong shade, reached out to customer support, and they sent me a new one free of charge.

  • Love their blushes!!! Such cute innovative packaging and the colors glide on and compliment your skin so well.

  • I really love Merit products. I think they have high quality formulas and great colors with strong performance. I like that they don't have a million products and they're a brand that is easy to shop. The simple but classy packaging is also great. For friends who want to wear a little more makeup and look put together without putting in a ton of effort (or spending a lot) I recommend Merit all the time. When I do a 3-minute face it's mostly Merit products and I definitely always pack them to travel.

  • I’m more of a skincare guy, but Merit Beauty has been a solid intro to minimal makeup. The Complexion Stick is super easy—just swipe, blend with fingers, and I’m good. It evens out my skin without looking or feeling like makeup. The Brow Pomade keeps things tidy without making it obvious I did anything. Everything feels clean, low-effort, and fits right into my routine. Great for guys who want to look a little more polished without going full glam.

  • My favorite mascara! I’ve been using Merit mascara for a couple years now. It’s a perfect everyday mascara. Doesn’t really leave as much undereye darkness when I inevitably rub my eye. Also love how easy it is to remove. I only wish they would make it in brown

  • Merits products are very easy to use and buildable. The perfectly glowy bronze for the summer. The product also lasts a very long time and the consistency stays the same no matter how long you have had it for.

  • I adore the cream blushes - they glide on & blend out so easily, and the color range is gorgeous. The formula is perfectly sheer & buildable. I set it with a bit of powder blush and it lasts well. The Minimalist stick is ok - I like how it applies and the coverage is good, but I think it would work better for someone with less texture. It's great when I'm not breaking out and just need it to cover discoloration, not texture.

  • Merit totally lives up to the "minimalist beauty" hype. The formulas are lightweight but effective — the flush balm is my daily go-to for a natural, healthy glow. Beautiful packaging too. Pricey, but every product feels luxurious and easy to use.

  • Their stuff is expensive but still, such a great makeup brand. I love how classy, gorgeous yet minimalistic their packaging is. And their products feel so so nice. They are hydrating and dewy and they have the prettiest colors. I love their blush

  • Merit Beauty just gets it. The products are so easy to use and give that effortless, glowy look without feeling heavy. I’m especially obsessed with the blush — it blends like a dream and makes me look alive even on my most tired days. And the brush... obsessed & one of the only brushes I actually reach for!!

  • I’ve only tried one product from MERIT so far—the Day Glow Highlighting Balm—but I have to say, I’m really impressed. It gives such a beautiful, natural glow without that sticky, heavy texture you sometimes get with other balms. I’ve tried similar products (like Glossier’s highlighter balm), but those tend to feel more like chapstick or Vaseline on the skin. MERIT, on the other hand, really nailed the formula. It glides onto the cheeks effortlessly, feels lightweight, and leaves a dewy finish that looks fresh—not greasy. It actually feels like a high-quality product and sits beautifully on the skin. No tackiness, no stickiness—just a soft, radiant glow. I’ll definitely be exploring more from MERIT based on how much I loved this one!

  • I live in the EU, but I managed to purchase two of the Flush Balms from Merit during my trip to the UK. The aesthetics, the product, the fast delivery (1 day)—everything is just a dream. they also gifted me with a makeup bag. I'm patiently waiting for the brand to make their products available on the continent. (Merit, please hurry!)

  • a natural blush with a flush of color they are so easy to use and non comedogenic I have all the colors and can be used easily I love these

  • AMAZING easy makeup experience. These products look amazing on everyone - easy to apply, fool proof, and effortless makeup application. I love watching their tutorials to learn more. I also love the way the makeup is packaged - makes application so simple.

  • I like it! They could have greater shade variety in the foundation stick, and some of the packaging (i.e., the highlighter) feels cheap, but overall great products. They pay attention to using clean ingredients, but I do wish they were slightly more clean though!

  • Ok. I may be obsessed. I started out slow with the sample of their new blushes and Minimalist stick and now... I have every product that doesn't have the ingredient I'm allergic to (squalane). I LOVE the minimalist stick - it's perfect for my minimal under-eye and spot concealing, and blends easily. I love the lip oil, the blush (Apres is my favorite), and Great Skin. I recommend the mascara - it really works - and the eyebrow balm, too! I just tried Solo Shadow, and I'm still getting to used it. The customer support is so quick and nice,

  • I am shocked how much I love this brand. I am not a big make-up person and was intimated by the price. I got a great deal for Black Friday and love everything I purchased. You can tell it is high quality. I especially love the complection stick. Great customer service too. My complection stick broke so I sent them a picture and they offered me a refund or a replacement. I chose the replacement because of how much I love it.
