  • Cushiony lip mask texture

  • Occasionally drying lip formulas
  • Sticky, messy balm application
  • Bulky, wasteful jar packaging
  • Fragrant moisturizers irritate sensitivities

Laneige earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the Lip Sleeping Mask and Water Sleeping Mask often deliver soft, hydrated lips and bouncy, soothed skin, but several reviews find the lip formulas overhyped, sometimes drying, sticky, or no more effective than Aquaphor. Reviewers praise the silky textures, delicious scents, and cute packaging, while noting bulky, wasteful packaging, strong fragrance in skincare, messy spatulas/pots, and inconsistent results across products like Water Bank Cream.

  • I LOVE THE PINK LIP MASK. Follow my tiktok @maddiediaries to see me try out this products and more like it.

  • I really like most of Laneige’s products, but the Lip Sleeping Mask didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. It’s nice and hydrating, but I didn’t see the major difference others rave about. Still, the rest of their line is amazing!

  • This review is just for the lip glowy balm and sleeping mask. Their products are nice, simple, and cute. But both products are a little too sticky for my taste. After I put them on, it kind of gets all over. So I don't love that. The lip glowy balm doesn't keep my lips hydrated at all. The sleeping mask definitely does the job! But like I mentioned, it makes a mess and it reminds me of a glorified vaseline or aquaphor.

  • Obsessed with the lip masks. Have used every night and it’s really improved my lips. I live in a very dry climate and I haven’t had chapped lips in a while. The flavors I’ve tried have all been so nice!

  • I really love the sleep mask. I know it’s so popular right now, but there’s a reason. It truly makes my lips feel so moisturized and hydrated, and this is one product that I will always repurchase. It also lasts a really long time, so I definitely think it’s worth the money.

  • Love the lip gloss applicator form the most. I don’t love lip balm that requires me to dip my finger in so I appreciated that they have the applicator. This lip gloss keeps my lips hydrated and glossy for a long time.

  • The lip mask is worth all of the hype!! I have been using it for years now and don't see myself getting sick of it anytime soon. It's great through all of the seasons – my lips don't get chapped in the winter at all! They also have a lip balm which is great for all day usage!!

  • I wanted to love Laneige for its poppy colors and beautiful packaging. The flavors all smell great and the consistency of the lip mask is buttery. Unfortunately, the product isn't as effective as other products or lip masks on the market. The product doesn't last long on your lips nor in the jar. Overall, it's overpriced for the quality you expect.

  • LOVE the lip mask and other masks but the applicator is really inconvenient/messy. 5 stars if it weren't for the applicator!

  • Their lip masks are the best, especially the pink one. They help scrub your dead skin on your lip gently overnight and also deeply nourishing lips especially on the days when my lips are chapped.

  • The lip mask and lip balm are fantastic-- can't miss! I use the balm in grapefruit in the day time and the vanilla lip mask at night. I've purchased the lip balm as well, and the flavor wasn't my favorite, but the applicator and consistency were just as good as the other lip products.

  • Surprised this brand doesn’t already have a ton of reviews! I’ve tried two things from Laneige: their tried and true lip masks, and the hydrating sleeping masks. For the lip masks (in the jar) I understand why it comes with a little spatula, but it seems wasteful to get a new one with each purchase. I also think that for the price, you can find a cheaper alternative. Their lip masks are a bit over hyped IMO, but I’m a sucker for the peach one in the tube. Probably a great gift, but I don’t go out of my way to repurchase. The second product I’ve tried is the water sleeping mask. It saved my skin during the winter (especially in Canada,) and I liked how the texture remained light, and didn’t feel heavy. Just remember to rinse your face in the morning to avoid product buildup or break outs! Overall I want to test more products from this brand in the future, but I’ve seen some conflicting info on whether they test on animals, so I’m not entirely sure.

Less waste when it comes to packaging! I don’t need 10,000 baby spatulas.

  • Tried the original Laniege sleeping mask in berry, and it was super drying. I ended up gifting it to my sister. The belif aqua bomb is way better, and it never dries my lips out. Going strong for two years now.

  • Recently fell back in love with Laneige and integrated a few of its items into my skincare routine - zero regrets and obsessed with the packaging. The toner has done wonders and doubles as a moisturizer -- it's one of the few that doesn't irritate my skin and leaves it feeling fresh. Feel the same way about the water bank cream and lip glowy balm - these are becoming my skincare staples and I am a huge fan!

  • Was so excited to try Lineage but it just didn't work for me. The overnight mask gave me skin texture and the lip mask didn't do a lot either. Had high expectations but just didn't work for me.

  • The packaging is pretty terrible: bulky but not filled with the product. However, I am obsessed with the Water Bank Cream. It's my daily moisturizer—I wish it weren't so expensive for how much you get!
