Reviews mention

  • Protein‑rich pastry
  • Soft toasterable shell
  • Distinctive frosting appearance
  • Satisfying sweet flavor
  • Gummy chewy texture
  • Artificial sweetener aftertaste
  • Inconsistent visual presentation
  • Thin brittle frosting

Flings reviews assert the brand can work as a lower‑sugar, higher‑protein alternative to Pop‑Tarts—many users praise flavors like Sticky Cinnamon and a satisfying frosting, but numerous reviewers find the texture gummy or dry and report a persistent artificial/sugar‑alcohol aftertaste. This helps buyers who prioritise protein and lower sugar determine Flings may satisfy sweet cravings without sugar spikes, but risk unpleasant mouthfeel and sweetener-driven taste.

  • I was expecting more... tasted alright, but it was just sad to eat. Physically, it looked sad. Yeah, it has 10 grams of protein, and the fiber and other sweeteners bring it down to 9 net carbs, but it just wasn't enjoyable neither did it satisfy me. Texture was really weird too. Glad it was free because $7.99 for a 4 pack of this is a bit excessive.

  • I really, really wanted to love flings, but they were not for me. It is possible that they are way better toasted and it was user error/I did not follow the instructions, but I ate them the way I eat poptarts (cold, out of the box) and it was very disappointing.

  • The summer strawberry flavor is really tasty but has kind of a weird texture. I'd still buy these again tho.

  • Some of the flavors are better than others. Strawberry is tasty, cinnamon is okay, chocolate is pass. Neither kid liked the chocolate either, which is telling. Did they remind me of pop-tarts? Not really. But I could see them occasionally scratching a certain itch, or satisfying a particular sweet tooth.

  • I would not recommend if you aren’t a fan of sugar alternatives. It tasted heavily of fake sugar and was hard to finish an entire pastry.

  • Wanted them to be good so badly, but felt like eating sweetened cardboard. And plot twist; they're terrible for you.

  • Tried a bite. Then it sat there on my desk for the entire day. I'm sorry but I'll stick to my poptarts

  • Pretty good taste. Definitely prefer the Sticky Cinnamon flavor. I tend to eat them for dessert after dinner as opposed to for breakfast as they are quite sweet tasting even if not from real sugar.

  • I'm an athlete, and so i'm a nerd about protein. I was super excited because, first of all, I love toaster pastries, and also, these seem to be a great pick nutritionally. They do have a bit of erythrital in them, which can make my stomach a little bloaty, but it's not bad, it actually tastes great.

  • These were not good, they taste like cardboard. Poptarts also taste like cardboard, but for $33 for 12 Flings... I'll stay with the OG.

  • Ah, I think these are a miss. I really wanted to like them. My initial reaction was that they were absolutely horrible (I was expecting a similar consistency to a pop tart) and they severly disappointed me. Then, a few days later I tried one again and thought, ok maybe this isnt bad, and then on my third try I officially decided I won't repurchase these. They have now been sitting in my pantry for months, I am unsure when they will go - probably will need to wait until a desperate moment to eat what I have left...

  • I wanted to love these because I love a revamp on an existing product with less sugar! Sadly, these were a no go for me. First of all, I was missing flings...as in the box I purchased was not full. Second, I found them to be dry. Third, they weren't remarkable in taste. I eat a pop tart like once every 5 or 6 years and this wasn't noteworthy enough to be a replacement. Sad!

  • I was really intrigued by the idea of adult pop tarts so I bought three boxes to try each flavor (cinnamon, strawberry, and chocolate). They tasted better than expected but still just okay. Each “pack” holds a single Fling (ie pop tart), so you only get four in a box. I’m sure the product will improve over time, but I don’t like the current iteration enough to repurchase or recommend. I might try again down the road.

  • They try to make a healthier twist and a product already exist. The flavor isn’t really the best but it’s a decent option if you want to eat healthy and continue to have your regular products on a daily basis.

  • I received Flings for a discounted price through a coupon. This was one of the worst tasting “pop tarts” I’ve ever had in my entire life. It was also outrageously overpriced. I wanted to love it but unfortunately, I couldn’t justify this in any way.

  • Flings are basically a healthier version of pop tarts marketed with more protein and keto approved. Me and my boyfriend liked both the cinnamon and strawberry one. I feel less guilty eating these than pop tarts but at the end of the day these are still processed junk food in my eyes.

  • I tried this product as I had a rebate offer from the brand, but would likely not purchase again without it. The taste is not bad, a bit overly sweet, but the texture could definitely be improved. They are doughy and quite chewy, getting stuck to your teeth.

  • These taste awful honestly, Was so excited for a high protein alternative to pop tarts which I love to indulge in. But the pastry tasted weird, the inside tasted weird, the texture was off. Everything sucked .

  • We had high hopes for these but didn't like the taste. They were also very sugary.
