Flings reviews assert the brand can work as a lower‑sugar, higher‑protein alternative to Pop‑Tarts—many users praise flavors like Sticky Cinnamon and a satisfying frosting, but numerous reviewers find the texture gummy or dry and report a persistent artificial/sugar‑alcohol aftertaste. This helps buyers who prioritise protein and lower sugar determine Flings may satisfy sweet cravings without sugar spikes, but risk unpleasant mouthfeel and sweetener-driven taste.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
I loved the idea of this product however I was ultimately let down. It almost tasted "tingly" if that makes sense? I presume it was the artificial sweeteners, it almost also tasted cold. Flavor at first was okay but I would not eat a whole one of these.
i was excited to try this based on the cool packaging but was lowkey disappointed. it is drier than expected and the flavors wasn't really that good.

Flings toaster pastries are an underrated gem—great flavor, high protein, and honestly better tasting than a Pop-Tart. Just don’t let them sit too long in your cupboard over time, or the texture gets oddly soft. However I'd never pay $9 for these off the shelf.
I didn't care for these. They had an artificial taste that I couldn't get past. I wasn't able to finish the package, so I gave them away. The texture was fine though. Maybe a different flavor would be better.
Couldn’t even finish this…it was disgusting! The actual item looks nothing like the packaging portrays. The marketing and packaging works but do not waste your money. $9 for 4 tiny little “pop tarts”
Absolutely disgusting. I love Pop Tarts but can’t have the sugar so was so excited to see these only 1g sugar. One bite and no more. Sour tasting, overly sweetened with the sugar alcohols, weird texture, just all bad. That plus the insultingly high price? Never again and you should run in the opposite direction.
I'm gonna be honest- the only reason I purchased these was because they looked cute on the shelf at Target. I'm big into packaging and usually cute packaging equals decent product (at least in my experience). Man, these proved my theory WRONG. Totally inedible- I used my toaster and they came out looking sticky and... slimy? I don't know the right word, but I took one bite and threw the rest out. They were pretty pricey for four individually packaged pop tarts & now I'm bummed I spent the $8 just to throw it in the trash. There's so many better, healthy-ish pop tarts out there, don't waste your time (or money) on these.
They were out of stock forever, didn’t say this when I ordered had to wait over a month for them to even ship out and they weren’t even good.

My husband was SOOOO excited to try these - and we ordered a massive pack. Healthy poptarts?! Yes please! The first bite or two were great, then it spiraled into tasting super artificially and just chemically (and no, we aren't super crunchy people; so the fact that this was so noticeable was a fail). We ended up donating our unopened box to a neighborhood food pantry.
Better than the big brand. However, still pretty sweet on the fillings. Not my taste exactly. The casing feels a bit mushy. Tried two different flavors. both feel ok
They are okay. Doesn’t completely satisfy a PopTart craving but it’s got protein soooo…
I wanted to love this brand's healthier take on pop-tarts, but the consistency and flavors were subpar. Felt like a fig newton.
I bought these at Target and I tried the sticky cinnamon flavor. I didn't toast them at all, but ate them plain with some oat milk to drink. I like the fact that they are low carb and high protein with only 1 gram of sugar. I don't think they really need a lot of sugar and honestly the cinnamon flavor makes them really easy to love. I am interested in trying the hot chocolate flavor as well, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere yet. I agree that they have an interesting aftertaste, but I actually really liked it and I especially like the fact that they satisfy my sweet tooth cravings for not very much sugar and they are not too high in calories either. The 10 grams of protein really solidified them for me, since I think they are a great snack to fill you up between meals.
delicious & filling!!!
I got these at my local Target and was so excited to try them. I was really really really disappointed . They have a very odd taste to them, the sugar substitutes really stuck out and not in a good way. I tried one toasted and one out of the pack and I did not like either way. This is a no for me.

I was really excited to try the sticky cinnamon but it had a slightly salty taste to it. I definitely still ate them and they were good but I couldn't get over how salty they were.
Not very good at all, tastes like protein cardboard. Overpriced for the taste and value
I read some negative reviews of this product so I had low expectations, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I thought these were very filling (maybe because of the protein) and they satisfied my sweet cravings. I liked the texture of the glaze on top. That being said, I don't think it's worth purchasing these, especially for $10, unless you really crave toaster pastries and can't have them for health reasons. The texture of these was sort of grainy and paste-y and I didn't feel that great about eating them because they're so processed.

Overall it's pretty amazing and tasty, the only problem is that if you are sensitive to certain sweeteners, you may have a little after taste. Personally I wasn't that affected, but some that had it did

There are only four pastries in a box which is exorbitantly expensive. They are overly sweet, more like a dessert than a quick breakfast. They also treated much better toasted than they do right out of the package. Overall, I would not buy them again.
