  • Gentle, fragrance-free formulations
  • Dermatologist-recommended reliability
  • Hydrating, barrier-supporting moisturizers
  • Effective acne-clearing cleansers
  • Occasionally heavy, filmy textures
  • Inconsistent results across skin types
  • Spf can irritate or feel oily
  • Some cleansers feel under-cleaning

CeraVe earns strong reviews as a dermatologist-recommended staple that works—especially for sensitive, dry, and acne‑prone skin—thanks to gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and moisturizers that layer well under makeup and visibly hydrate and calm irritation. Weaknesses surface around texture and feel (some creams heavy or filmy, occasional greasiness or insufficient moisture), hit‑or‑miss results for certain skin types, mixed experiences with SPF formulas and actives causing irritation, and concerns about cruelty‑free status and select ingredients.

  • Moisturizing cream is really great for cold weather related dryness. its thick but not super greasy. Only down mark is that i think it is petroleum based but i could be wrong.

  • Sometimes drugstore brands just work best. Their moisturizers and anti itch creams are always a reliable choice.

  • I was recommended this by a friend who said this was a authentic lotion which can also be used for kids over 3. Since winters my kids get dry skin, I started using them right after their bath time. It has no odor and the cream is easy to put on with a pumping bottle so you can put them on very easily. No mess and just with one hand, you can apply it to your kids. The price is also consumer friendly!

  • A great basic brand that actually works. I like their facial moisturizer and gentle cleanser, both are great for sensitive skin.

  • I'm pretty laidback about what sort of SPF I put on my face (I typically use the Trader Joe's facial SPF). But, I decided to get the CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF. My derm recommends it. My sister uses it. My besties use it. So, I was like, I may as well get serious with my SPF. Plot twist! It gave me almost like a chemical burn on my face! My skin was red in patches, super itchy, and now is flaking off and discolored. I don't know what my skin is reacting to, but I am the only person I know in my IRL circle that has had this reaction. I would NOT recommend based on my experience. But so many other people love it.

  • If I could give this brand 10/5 stars I would. I have suffered from eczema my entire life and have tried every lotion under the sun and cerave lotion is the best, “can’t live without” lotion on the market. It’s moisturizing but not greasy and I can actually feel my skin soaking up the lotion, when some lotions feel like they just sit on my skin. I use their tinted sunscreen face lotion and it’s fabulous! I have tried other brands face sunscreen (goop, etc.) and always break out but not with cerave! The price is insane for the quality. Plus, every dermatologist I’ve ever visited has sworn by cerave - they don’t understand why I purchase other (more expensive) brands when cerave is available.

  • From their face washes to their moisturizers, this is a staple in our house. Incredible price-points for great products that do their job well.

  • I use a facial cleansing bar from CeraVe and I love it. It's hard to find a face soap that doesn't suds a lot but also isn't expensive. I was worried that the bar would be weird since I usually use liquid, but it's great! And it leaves my face feeling clean but not dry.

  • I can't recommend CeraVe enough. I've been using their face wash for years and love it. Their sunscreens are also great but can leave me feeling a little oily in the summer. A really great safe go-to brand! Especially for the price point!

  • Just excellent - the most trust skincare (for me) at the American pharmacy. I especially like their Salicylic Acid Foot cream, which is excellent for exfoliating dry skin in colder months.

  • I've tried all sorts of skincare, and CeraVe is my tried and true. From the hydrating facial cleanser to the moisturizing cream or lotion, this is a brand I can trust my sensitive skin with. I know my skin will be left feeling clean, healthy, and moisturized and that I'll get more than my money's worth with how long each bottle lasts!

  • It's not glamorous, but if you have super dry skin, this is the stuff to use!

  • I have used CeraVe while treating my red dots on my skin that my doctor recommended and it works really well. They have a great moisturizer cream if compared to the affordable price, you must use it, especially highly recommended for students or people didn't have a high budget.

  • Best cheap skincare to go under makeup. Doesn’t pill, ensures my makeup sits well, sufficient hydration. Probably not the highest quality, but you get what you pay for

  • My son's pediatrician recommended CeraVe when he was little and it always worked well. From sunscreen to face cream to makeup remover, it works well on sensitive skin.

  • My elbows feel and look better after using it for more than a couple months, it does smooth out the wrinkles of the eczema especially on me and my little ones omg I have to fight my mom over the bottle usage
