Reviews mention

  • Supportive contoured footbed
  • Durable construction longevity
  • Timeless versatile designs
  • Wide style selection
  • Painful break-in period
  • Inconsistent sizing width
  • Water-sensitive cork footbed
  • Premature sole wear reports

BIRKENSTOCK earns strong reviews for comfort and longevity: the contoured cork footbed molds to feet, offers solid arch support, and many pairs last years, even through daily wear. Reviews also flag drawbacks—tough break‑in with blisters for some, sizing can run wide or confusing, footbed imprints and odor in heat, water can damage cork, and several cite faster‑wearing soles or recent durability concerns.

  • Such comfortable and high-quality shoes! My family has been wearing Birkenstock sandals around the house as slippers for years and I love that they've become so popular and have so many great options now.

  • fits like a glove, fits even more like a glove after more wears

  • love the mission and my shoes I have owned Birkenstocks my whole life. They last forever and you can always get them recorked. I love my Bostons (fuzzy and regular) and my Arizona sandals. They are so supportive, comfortable, and go with any outfit

  • Above all else, I think Birkenstocks does a great job of marketing their products and staying relevant in the consumer sphere. I have a pair of their Yara sandals and absolutely love wearing them in the summer. They're comfy and fashionable, but expensive enough that I can only justify buying a pair every couple of years.

  • I have been wearing Birkenstocks for over a decade and love the comfort and support. They go in and out of style, but will always be a staple in my wardrobe. I wear them standing all day with no fatigue or discomfort. Plus, they are always releasing new color ways.

  • I’ve had the same pair of sandals for five years and they still work great. Comfortable and easy to walk in. The only reason I need to buy a new pair is that the souls have worn away on the bottoms.

  • The most comfortable and durable ugly-cute shoes that exist. I bought my first pair of Arizona's for a trip to Costa Rica in 2016 and they went through hell on that trip but are still fully intact and comfortable (though not as pretty) now in 2023! I also bought theeee Boston clogs last year like every other girl and I have to admit I do love them and wear them almost every day, though I forgot they run a half size large. Should have sized down a bit but they still fit and are still comfy at my normal size. Birks may not be for everyone but they certainly have a group of die-hard fans, and I understand why. They are expensive but WILL last you forever and are worth the money.

  • Definitely worth the hype, comfortable and lots of styles to choose from

  • Birkenstock is a time less brand. The shoe quality in unmatched and totally worth the investment. Shoes last forever and love the differentiation in styles and colors.

  • These are very comfortable but often run wide, which can make finding your fit tricky.

  • I f***ing love my birkenstocks. I’ve been a lifelong fan. They are hands down the highest quality and most comfortable sandals out there. Just get a pair.

  • Once you break in the classic birki-boys, you'll have them for years. After time they only get better, and as long as your good about keeping your shoes cleaned and be reasonable with the weather you take them out into, they are a great investment.

  • High quality but the form factor never did it for me, still prefer chacos.

  • Have the Arizona sandals and they’ve lasted me years. They’re comfy and chic.

  • The best comfort sandals I’ve ever tried. I recently bought some white platform sandals in their vegan leather and love them! I was worried about how the vegan leather would hold up, but they still look great after a few months of regular use.

  • My absolute favorite casual slip on shoes. I've had many pairs of sandals (Mayari is my favorite) and recently finally tried the Boston clogs which I love! I have somewhat wide (but not technically wide) feet so I never need to get narrow sizing for Birks. I love how they mold to your feet. I really should branch out and try more styles, and I definitely want to!

  • A classic product, love wearing many Birks across the seasons. Only thing that could be improved is durability of the sole, often wears out quickly.

  • Everyone knows how awesome these are once you live in them. Mold to your feet and the most comfy shoes ever.

  • Ever since I got my first pair of Birkenstocks my freshman year of college I knew there would be no other shoe for me. Since then, I have gone through four pairs, and each gets plenty of wear and tear because there is a pretty good chance I am wearing them on a daily basis. A friend of mine were lamenting over the phone the other day about the onset of fall, because we don't know of a winter type shoe that compares to the comfort (and style) potential that Birkenstocks allow. 10/10 forever
