Reviews mention

  • Contoured footbed support
  • Long‑lasting construction
  • Iconic versatile styles
  • Adjustable strap fit
  • Painful break‑in period
  • Water‑sensitive cork sole
  • Inconsistent sizing width
  • Odor with summer sweat

BIRKENSTOCK earns strong reviews for comfort that improves as the contoured cork footbed molds to the foot and for durability that can span years, with icons like Arizona, Boston, Mayari, and EVA slides praised for everyday wear. Reviews also flag drawbacks: a painful break‑in for many, sizing confusion and wide fit, soles and cork that can crack or wear quickly (especially when wet), occasional odor and chafing in heat, and mixed experiences for flat or very high arches.

  • Ever since I got my first pair of Birkenstocks my freshman year of college I knew there would be no other shoe for me. Since then, I have gone through four pairs, and each gets plenty of wear and tear because there is a pretty good chance I am wearing them on a daily basis. A friend of mine were lamenting over the phone the other day about the onset of fall, because we don't know of a winter type shoe that compares to the comfort (and style) potential that Birkenstocks allow. 10/10 forever

  • Love them have worn them since 1994! Not the same ones of course.

  • I am a changed woman after switching to Birkenstocks. I have several pairs and I love each one just the same. I wear a size 8.5 normally and wear a 38 or 39 in depending on the shoe. They provide optimal comfort after a few wears to break them in. It's a nice shoe to wear if you need to be on your feet all day. I'll also say that they have become way more fashionable recently, so you can find a pair to suit your style.

  • These went from a joke in the shoe industry to the most worn open toed shoe. Very comfortable and last very long. Always supported the brand.

  • Absolutely love Birkenstock shoes. No matter what type of shoe you get, after a few weeks of wearing them in, these are the most comfortable, durable, and long lasting shoes out there. Most of the time, I wear socks with my birks cause I don’t know if they get a bit smelly over time, so I just avoid that problem. I definitely wear them barefoot at times, but I figure it keeps the shoe in better shape to wear them with socks sometimes. No judgement for sock wearers out there.

  • I live in my birks- almost year round! The same pair will hold up for years of consistent use. They take a bit to break in but after that period, they are super comfortable. I’m on my second pair in 8 years and see myself purchasing another pair soon.

  • Birkenstock clogs are pure comfort for your feet! With their iconic cork footbed and classic style, they're a cozy, go-to choice for every casual occasion. Slip into a pair and experience foot heaven. 🥿👣

  • My favorite shoes by far!! The first pair of Birkenstocks I got was the Arizonas - got them 9 years ago and they are still holding up. I also have the Bostons and wear them everywhere. People say this for all kinds of shoes, but these truly mold to your feet and are so so comfortable. Whenever I try on anyone else's Birkenstocks they feel so weird because of how deeply molded they are to each individual.

  • I’m not sure where to even begin a Birkenstock review. If you know you know (IYKYK)!! I have traditional, papillon, and the waterproof traditional buckle style. I love them all and I wear birks exclusively 99% of the time. Birks for life. ✌🏻

  • I had to ease into the birks game over the last few years. My first pair were ugly and ugly in a bad way as opposed to a vibey way... That was on me. I learned what to do. The wife helped me get my game together and now im all in.. I have the bostons, the arizona and even a cozy pair for the cold... Cant imagine a week or world without these in my rotation. Big change this year was accepting socks are ok to wear... That was big.

  • I have worn Birkenstocks for a couple of years, and I mean, they are so reliable and great slip-on shoes. I have a color block pair that I get so many compliments on. Although with the smooth soles rather than the usual suede, they squeak for a while but eventually break in. I would love more platform options, too.

  • Birkenstocks have become a staple in my shoe collection - I wear them daily whenever I can and they provide much better support than any open sandal that I've ever worn.

  • I love my birks. In college I had a pair of knock-off birks (shhh, don't tell) because I liked the style, but didn't want to pay for the real ones. After I graduated, I got a pair of the real ones and then wore them everywhere all the time. That was many years ago, and I still wear them almost every day (when it's warm enough outside!). I wear them to walk my dogs for about a 1.5 mile walk every morning and evening, and they're just super comfortable. I also love that they keep coming up with different styles that all still fit similarly and feel crazy comfortable. I spend a lot of time at the lake in the summer, so I purchased a pair of the plastic birkenstocks this summer, and I love them. I wear them around the house all day, out to run errands, and around the water. They're a great lightweight option!

  • My go to summer shoe. I love how they get more comfortable as you wear them in and they mold to your feet.

  • For years, Birkenstocks have been the ONLY fashionable, non-clunky sandal that has supported my extremely flat feet. Loyal since 2017!!

  • I love my birks, I have 5 pairs, one isn't the right size so we won't talk about that one. I'll be honest breaking them in is horrible, it's not a fun experience, it hurts, it sucks, it makes you wonder why you would purchase such a terrible.product. but the day those bad boys are broken in and they fit you like an absolute glove is the most glorious day and then you wanna buy all the pairs. They helped my plantar fascists. I've work them to walk around rome for a day, I've worn them to hike up an acropolis, I wear them to the grocery store. They are a shoe for every part of life, except water and snow.

  • The EVA Birkenstocks are my go to summer sandal! So comfortable and can be easily cleaned off dirt or sand. Great for my wife feet and are supportive without being too much.

  • Shout out to the homies at birkenstock holding it down through good times and bad. I have worn bostons since I can remember because I saw a cool ass dude in japan runnin it and it changed my life. I have never ever not had a fresh pair in the rotation. When I die bury me in the bostons baby. Don't need to go to heaven when I am already walkin on clouds.

  • Just the best, highest quality casual sandal brand!! I have a few pairs of the Bostons and the classic Arizonas and they're the best shoe for road trips, grocery store runs, beach days, traveling, everything. Plus, they last forever. Can't recommend enough.

  • I am on my 6th pair of Birkenstock Arizonas and I will continue to keep them as a staple in my wardrobe. They are very comfortable (especially those with the extra soft insole) and support the foot well. I do need to break them in a little bit every late Spring but that is something I am willing to do for maximum comfort and ease afterwards. Also deducting one point for the changes since the Arnault/LVMH acquisition which showed in terms of prices going up and designs changing away from the original.
