Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

I do not follow a strict gluten-free diet, but I frequently use Banda pasta because I want the extra protein for my meals. The texture is consistent with traditional pasta, as long as you cook for the appropriate amount of time - there’s a small window. If you cook too long, your pasta will be mushy and slimey. As for the taste, this obviously doesn’t taste exactly like traditional pasta, but it soaks up flavors decently well. Definitely a good alternative to traditional pasta if you’re looking for a healthy clear of protein and lower carbs, but not a “splurge food” if you’re looking for a real treat.

We love the Chickpea pasta from Banza and eat it all the time as a substitute for a healthier version of pasta. The chickpea flavor is subtle and not overpowering. And you don't feel bloated or lethargic after your meal vs. eating normal pasta. The pasta also holds it's shape and sauce when cooking. Keep an eye out for these at your local Costco!

I dare you to make your bf Banza pasta and not tell him it’s made from chickpeas. You can hardly tell the difference and I love it so much. Obviously, because it’s not “real” pasta, it’s not as soft or al dente but still a go-to for me.

Texture after cooking. Could be a tiny bit softer but understood it’s made from chickpeas.
Favorite pizza and pasta
Love their pasta and mac & cheese. The pasta is filling and very similar to traditional pasta. Any differences are slight but not off-putting. I particularly love the high protein content and fewer carbs.
Feedback
It's understandably a bit more expensive than other pastas.

I am a pasta purist/gluten fiend, and in an attempt to get more protein in my diet started switching out some of my pasta-based meals for Banza. It's definitely the best gluten-free option I've tried, and the taste is pretty delish. For trying to increase my protein, I'm a fan.

Still a little on the chewy side (can't be overcome with more cooking)
I love Banza products! I'm off and on pescatarian, and I'm glad to have Banza as a go-to for extra protein in my meals. I've loved all the pastas and pizzas I've tried so far.

The smaller shaped pastas do have a highly noticeable difference from regular pasta. They lack a bounciness. I wouldn't say it's a 1-to-1 substitute!
I have been using Banza for year. I have always loved their pasta due to the better nutritional profile, but their pizzas changed the game for me! Tasty, healthy, and delicious.

I would love to see other extensions and I think the pizzas being a bit bigger would be nice.
Thought the pasta was delicious! I find undercooking it helps the noodles hold up better. I need to try the pizza!

Banza is pretty yummy, but what really sells me is the nutritional value of their pasta. As someone who always lacks in protein intake, it is a lifesaver!
Banza is a staple in our house. We love the pasta and mac and cheese, and it's a great way to get protein into my kids that isn't meat. I've been super suprised with the taste of the pizza - it's great. And there are almost always coupons, so you can get Banza at a great price.
I've tried the Banza Chickpea pasta and thought I wouldn't like it because like what can replace real pasta? BUT I was pleasantly surprised because it has a slightly different taste from reg pasta but it's a good taste that makes it super yummy.

The Banza pasta is average, the Banza pizza base is AMAZING. I'm gluten-free and have been looking for a good crust that is simultaneously thing crust but also retains heat. This one delivered. Excellent crunch while maintaining excellent chewiness. I haven't tried the full on Margherita pizza kit but am tempted.

The pasta has never done it for me.
Banza is the greatest gift to my pantry. I buy at least one box of the pasta or mac & cheese every week. It's the perfect "lazy food" to have on hand when you don't feel like spending more than 10 minutes on cooking and is a great way to include protein in your diet. I usually add mushrooms & butter to add more flavor. I will definitely give the pizza a try next!
These pastas are a hit in our house! We love the protein in them. Everyone from my picky husband to my picky toddler eats them!

I would love to try some of the other products but the price point has deterred me.
This review reflects my experience with their pasta and mac and cheese, but with that caveat, I'm a big ole' fan! Banza clearly did a lot of research and testing to wind up with a noodle that tastes and chews like traditional flour pasta, but with macros and ingredients that are stunning coming from a pasta.

I buy these as a healthier, higher protein alternative to regular pasta. There's definitely a taste difference but it's not bad.
Excellent, pretty subtle chickpea flavor and great texture when not overcooked. Great variety of shapes too.
As a celiac adult, I've tried almost all gluten-free brands. The taste and feel/texture of their pastas and chickpea pizza crust just aren't great for me for the taste/quality.

Taste and texture could improve; especially for the pastas.
I like their pasta and the best alternative to traditional wheat pastas that I’ve tried. It’s a great weeknight solution when you want the ease of pasta + something that feels a little healthier.
