Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I enjoy Banza pasta but know some people who are indifferent. I find that you have to cook it less than it says in order for it to maintain its shape. I like using it for certain dishes where a nutty flavor is welcomed, but not for others like tomato sauce (although it's not bad! Just not my preference).

  • I love this pasta option as a high protein/fiber alternative. My kids will eat it too!

  • I tried their Mac and Cheese with optimism that it could be a healthy replacement. The chickpeas just weren’t for me the noodles were really gritty and had a bad taste.

  • New to some health issues, I was looking for some lower carb options for foods I love.

    Feedback

The texture and flavor was more chickpea/powder than I would have liked. I am not sure I will buy again.

  • Banza has the funnest brand & packaging out of its pasta peers, but there's little/no differentiation when it comes to taste.

  • The rotini pasta is my favorite from Banza. My picky spouse can't even tell the difference! The spaghetti has a little different texture than traditional spaghetti, but I don't mind it. I love that I can get the extra protein from pasta instead of just empty carbs!

    Feedback

I highly recommend starting with the rotini pasta from Banza.

  • a decent substitute for comfort foods -- these will never live up to the exact flavor profiles and textures, however the banza products are really good comfort food substitutes for the health-minded person. I personally often turn to them and enjoy.

  • One word: DELICIOUS. What more could I ask for? Taste is amazing and it is all amazing for you… PERFECT

I don’t think anything could be better!

  • Will always love Banza !! I feel like it’s one of the original alternative foods.

  • Great in practice, but I'd rather just eat chickpeas and pizza/pasta as is. Texturally and flavour-wise, it's not what I wanted or expected.

  • First tried it years ago and wasn't as impressed, pasty fell apart too easily but in recent years the quality has only gone up and now eat it on a regular basis.

  • Ive loved all of the pastas so far and am dying to try the pizzas! Overall I think the consistency is great and I love that they dont use too many ingredients

I need to check if they have a dairy free pizza!

  • Great source of protein without sacrificing taste!

    Feedback

It can be a bit of a strange texture.

  • I am team Banza! As someone who loves carbs, but hates their lack of protein, Banza is a godsend! However, I find that when I don't pair Banza with a flavorful sauce, I experience a weird, processed-feeling, aftertaste. Does this happen to anyone else?

  • Not best, but it’s good. No chickpea flavor. Also adds protein.

  • I've tried Banza pasta only so far and it is delicious! I like the variety and the packaging is appealing. It seems like it gets a little softer than normal pasta but I think I probably tend to overcook it. :) I would eat it again and definitely recommend it to a friend.

  • I’ve tried a few Banza products and found that while you can make them tasty, the product itself is not quite so good. I like the benefits of added protein to normal pasta dishes.

I think some products should be reformulated to taste better.

  • I'm not one for wheat substitutes, but Banza is delicious! I've tried a number of their pasta and enjoyed them all. What a lovely gluten-free option.

  • I love the pizza. My friends who are not gluten free even prefer it. The pasta is also good, but not remarkable. The pizza crust makes up for whatever the other options are lacking, it's that good.

    Feedback

The texture of the pasta can be a bit off.

  • I really like the pasta and the plain pizza dough. I like that the pasta comes in different shapes. Different pasta shapes create a whole new experience lol. The pizza crust was actually very good and is nice for a quick pizza. Banza products were a life saver when I was on an elimination diet and couldn't have gluten. Love that they also have quite a bit of protein.

I don't think this is a full-on pasta replacement. It does taste a bit different than regular pasta and I don't think it's good al dente. I needed to overcook it a bit to make it taste really good but too overcooked and the noodles fall apart.
