Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

I bought this because I wanted to add protein to my diet, but ended up only eating half a box. The texture of Banza is super weird and it had a strange taste to it. Maybe there’s a way to make it taste good but it just isn’t for me
Sadly was NOT a fan of this pasta. To me it had a really odd taste, a rubbery texture, and when you mix it with sauce it disintegrates.
Pleasantly surprised. Tasted and had the texture of regular pasta, and a great way to get more protein in. I recommend it for people who need a gluten-free alternative for dietary reasons, but if you do not it may not agree with you digestively speaking.
So far the ones that I have tried I have really liked. The pizzas are pretty tiny so keep that in mind as you consider buying it. The ingredients are great in these products!
I love buying a protein pasta instead of regular, but the chickpea base is just ok compared to others ive tried. Still an amazing product and I will continue to buy!
The thought is there in my opinion. I liked that there’s a “macro friendly” alternative to basic carb loaded pasta. I know it’s a dupe, but the taste was pretty mid. I don’t love it when I can truly taste the difference in quality and also texture of the pasta.
Been eating gluten free pasta for years and I never thought a chickpea pasta would have the taste and texture we look for with our dishes. It does! My husband can’t tell it’s gluten free! It doesn’t get that weird mouthfeel that other gluten free pastas do. Always have some in the pantry!
It’s my favorite way to get protein in any meal! It does taste like chickpeas so expect that flavor but does add flavor to any dish. Be careful with cook time because they can overcook so easily.
Love Banza products - they are a great alternative to traditional pasta, and comes packed with all the good nutrients as a plus.
I personally love this pasta! As with all GF substitutes, it's not the same as the real deal, but at least there's added protein. I'm giving 4/5 stars just because they are easy to overcook which makes them fall apart completely.
Banza tastes pretty good for gluten free pasta. So many on the market are mushy. If it’s in a pasta salad or has sauce it is tasty!
We are obsessed with Banza in our household! My fiance is gluten intolerant, so we are always looking to sub out wheat - and Banza products are now an essential pantry item. 10/10 recommend for pasta nights!
Great traditional pasta alternative! I’ve had it fresh and hot, and it also holds up chilled, leftover in a pasta salad without getting too soggy. Just watch your cooking time, you don’t want to overcook this!
Pros: my super picky kid really likes it. Much healthier than regular pasta! It's one of the few meals we will all eat. Cons: the texture is further from regular pasta than most made with a gf flour blend that really seem to try and replicate it. It's of course, considerably more expensive as well. Bottom line: There are other brands that make pasta from lentils, chickpeas, etc. We don't eat this one exclusively, but we do have several in the pantry.
I wanted to love Banza but couldn't get over the texture/taste. I ended up gifting the rest to a friend (who loves Banza). As a pescatarian, the idea of chickpea-based products for protein is awesome but this one just wasn't for me.
This is the first GF pasta I've tried so I don't have much to compare it to, it had too much of a flavor for me and also the shape I chose (cavatappi) fell apart too easily. I would buy a different shape next time.
Banza is a great quick and easy protein pasta! They are available in my favorite retailers such as Target and Win-Co. They go great with any sauce but my personal favorite is making a pasta salad with even more protein packed meats and cheeses for the ultimate filling pasta meal. The texture is best as a cold pasta salad in my opinion.

Okay, I'm just gonna say it – Banza pasta is a game-changer! 🍝💥 As someone who's all about that pasta life, finding a healthier alternative that actually tastes amazing is like discovering buried treasure. Seriously, you won't even miss the regular stuff. The texture? Spot on. It's got that perfect al dente thing going on. Plus, it's packed with protein – so, pasta that helps with gains? Count me in! And don't get me started on the chickpea goodness. I mean, chickpeas are basically the superheroes of the legume world, right? So, if you're looking to pasta-fy your life in a healthier way, give Banza a whirl. You can thank me later when you're in pasta heaven. 🙌🍝❤️" Enjoy your Banza pasta adventure! 😋🍽️
So tasty and healthy. I’ll never go back to normal pasta noodles.
