Amika earns largely positive reviews for effective, great-smelling hair care—especially Perk Up dry shampoo, Soulfood Nourishing Mask, and The Kure repair line—suggesting the brand works for many hair types. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: heavy, lingering fragrance, occasional residue or heaviness on fine hair, mixed results across lines, and reports of scalp irritation or hair loss for some, plus durability issues with a hot tool.

I have been using their color protection shampoo and conditioner for a year now and I love how it feels on my hair. It has made it less "bronzy" and has lasted me for a while. They recently launched a recycling program with Terracycle to help recycle their (otherwise pretty unsustainable) bottles.

Could use updated packaging to be more eco-friendly!
I've only tried their cleansing conditioner, and I've never tried any other before, so it's hard to compare. I don't love that the plastic packaging is not post-consumer recycled. The conditioner is fine.
This brand focused on sea buckthorn, a signature ingredient that enhances hair's shine, softness, and strength. Amika products, particularly their dry shampoo and hair masks, are my favorites. Totally recommend these!
I have the perk up dry shampoo. It does exactly what it says on the bottle. It’s an effective dry shampoo that doesn’t leave white residue , even on darker hair. My challenge though is that I find the scent incredibly overwhelming. It lingers and it’s all I can smell all day after I’ve used it. I really wish it wasn’t quite so heavily perfumed. If you’re sensitive to strong smells this probably isn’t for you.

I don't love their hair care. Their shampoo was too harsh on my hair and their conditioner was not hydrating. My hair was super frizzy. Also, I did not like their scent. I think their packaging is cute though
I love the dry shampoo so much! My hair gets oily easily but it is so damaging to wash my hair everyday so I really like using dry shampoo. I like that it has a nice scent and that it doesn't smell like chemicals.
I love the nourishing hair mask!! My hair have been dry lately but after using this hair mask, I can definitely see improvement in my hair quality and texture.
i like amika but i wouldnt say i love it. i really enjoy their mask but outside of that the products can be a bit pricey. i love the bright colors and packaging and find it to look super cute in my bathroom

I tried the dry shampoo and it was really effective in absorbing oils in my hair and leaving it feeling refreshed in between wash days. It smells great and gets absorbed fast and does not leave any residue. I also like the fun and bright colored packaging.
I love Amika hair care, they smell amazing and my hair actually feels more silky after I use their Mirrorball and high shine shampoo and conditioner. I also love their cute packaging. They are more expensive than your typical hair care at the drugstore but I think they are more reasonably priced for a salon quality product.
I absolutely love the perk up plus spray and the anti-human shield spray they really do work really well at maintaining my hair once I’ve styled it and go out into the humidity and they help volume and just make my hair look amazing
I no longer use amika nowadays (simply because I don't use dry shampoo anymore), but a couple years ago I used their dry shampoo consistently and still believe it's one of the best out there. It's a nice fine mist and was super effective in making my hair feel cleaner. It also smelled really nice.

my favorite dry shampoo! I have a sensitive scalp and it doesnt irritate it at all. It does the job and is also fairly easy to get out of your hair.
i got something from sephora as a birthday gift lol. overall great experience using it but i generally just dont have the need for those products...
I really love amika products. As someone with thin hair, I sometimes have trouble finding a shampoo/conditioner that doesn't strip my hair and weigh it down. This is a game changer and makes my hair feel fresh, clean, and weightless.

This is the best purple shampoo I tried while I had ashy-platinum blonde hair. It's definitely drying but it worked the best. If I left it on too long, my hair would turn a little bit lavender, but in a cool way :) Other purple shampoos I tried were VERB, L'oreal's, and even Olaplex, but this was the best. I have thick, wavy hair that is naturally medium brown. Another amika honorable mention is The Wizard, that stuff is amazing!
Amika offers a fantastic range of hair care products that are not only effective but also a joy to use. Their signature scent is delightful, making every application feel like a spa experience. I've particularly enjoyed their Soulfood Nourishing Mask, which leaves my hair feeling soft, hydrated, and incredibly manageable. The packaging is fun and vibrant, reflecting the brand's playful personality. Overall, Amika is a great choice for anyone looking to elevate their hair care routine with high-quality, stylish products. Highly recommended!
I tried the shampoo, and moisturizing conditioner, and they worked well, but I didn't really see anything that differentiates them from most mid-tier products. They were fine, but I expected more based on the price.
Amika’s hair mask is a game-changer for dry or damaged hair! This treatment is rich and deeply nourishing, leaving my hair feeling soft, smooth, and revitalized. It works wonders on all hair types, whether your hair is straight, curly, or textured. I love how it brings back shine and moisture without weighing my hair down. The scent is also amazing, adding a touch of luxury to your hair care routine. If you want healthier, shinier hair, Amika’s hair mask is definitely worth trying! 🌟💖
