Aesop earns strong reviews for luxurious scents, elegant packaging, and body-care standouts like Resurrection and Reverence Aromatique Hand Washes, yet opinions split on value. Reviews praise sensorial formulas that feel indulgent and often effective for hands and body, while noting weaknesses: high prices, plastic/leaky pumps, perfumes with short longevity, and some skincare that irritates sensitive skin or underperforms.

Wow the smells! I love the smells! Very woodsy if you’re into that. I have used so many things, hand creams, skincare etc. I recommend it all except the shampoo and conditioner did nothing for my hair.

I love Aesop products. The scents are so good and the branding looks beautiful. Do I need an incredibly expensive hand soap in my powder room, or a fancy hand cream to keep on my nightstand? No I do not, but I love having them.

Your opinion on Aesop is going to depend on what kind of expectations you have! I don't think their products are the best on the market in terms of results. However, they deliver a luxury experience for sure. Aesthetically & scent wise, they're tough to beat. I wish more of their products were packaged in glass. Some notes: their fragrances are incredible but not long lasting, the lotion has a very strong scent (which personally, I like!), and the lip balm has a gross taste. My favorite product is the hand sanitizer/rinse free hand wash. The bottles are cute and easy to refill and stash in your purse, car, etc. Value wise, the price point is steep so it's up to you to decide!

Was skeptical if this product would live up to the hype, but it definitely did! I love the fresh and herbaceous scent and it kept my underarms odor-free for the whole day! Wish it was made in a larger size!

Great smelling soap with a beautiful bottle. A heavier glass bottle would be nicer, but I understand safety concerns if glass breaks. I don't think I would buy again with it being over 5 times as expensive as any other soaps I can buy.

I can’t think of anything that smells as good as this scent! It’s absolutely phenomenal. The price tag is bonkers, undeniable, but holy smokes is the scent undeniable. Does it wash your hands or moisturize them any better than a drugstore brand? No. But does it smell so unbelievably good and it sticks around? Absolutely. It’s THE status hand soap for a reason, there are no dupes. It’s def a nice to have not a need to have, but if you do have it…sensational! Was expecting a bit more of an elevated unboxing from them, but it was deeply mediocre. I think the acquisition may have cut the corners of delight.

Well, it’s going to be difficult to go back to other soap after using this. I have eczema on my hands, and it’s often flared up by hand soap. I usually avoid fragranced hand soap for this reason, but I’ve heard so much about Aesop and wanted to give it a try. It smells amazing, lathers well, is not drying, and most importantly does not flare my eczema. This might be one little luxury I continue to indulge in! On a side note, I always thought the bottles were glass but this one is plastic. Probably a better option for the bathroom.

The experience of shopping at Aesop is such a luxury. Their design is unique and intentional and makes you really want to stop in and try. I've used a few different products. The deodorant smells incredible but I found wasn't effective for me after a few hours. The hand soap is rightfully a status object and has a forever place on my sink counters. Lately I've been loving the Resurrection hand cream which has an interesting herbal scent. It is pricey though :/

Say what you want, but this was one of the real OGs when it comes to chic, simplified hair & body care. The hand wash, lotion, and poo drops will forever remain in my "most iconic" list. Sure it's pricey, sure other brands have gone on to take away some of that "cool" factor, but respect needs to be given where it's due.

This is the BEST smelling lotion. I love using it and have been trying to save it for as long as possible. I wish it was a bit cheaper but it has lasted me a while! It is a really nice easy gift to give someone.

No one understands that I thought about this product for a year before I bought it. Let me tell you, it is worth the investment. This makes me want to wash my hands all of the time because of how good it feels on your skin. Plus, I feel so luxurious.

Every Aesop product is a luxury experience. I received a gift set from my husband for Christmas, and we are total converts. The soap smells so incredibly good, and you only need a small amount so the bottle lasts awhile. Is it pricey? Of course. However, it is a special everyday luxury. I also love the hand cream - it smells expensive and is not greasy at all.

My roommate used to buy this soap all the time and I definitely benefited from it. It feels nice, smells nice and is overall a good soap - but not worth the money in my opinion. I’ve used other soap products that are more natural, more affordable, and just as good.

Lux but expensive. The hand soap, especially the reverence hand wash and redemption scrub is so lush. The skincare is great but I’m not sure it’s worth it, I would rather use medical or higher active ingredient products but for an all natural brand it’s really a luxe experience. I use the Parsley seed oil cleanser every night for removing makeup and it’s such a nice treat at the end of the day, spa-like and does the job very well. Also B triple C and Lucent are great. Recently purchased the incense and I will never be buying any other incense. I’ve bought the papers, the expensive blue ones (can’t remember the name), so many. But the Aesop ones have turned me, and my sister, after she came over and asked what is that smell. So good

Aesop products feel super luxurious — the scents, the textures, even the packaging all make it a beautiful brand to experience. I do love using them, but I honestly don’t know if they’re worth the high price point. I was lucky enough to get mine for free, and while I’ve enjoyed them, I’m not sure I’d personally splurge at full retail.

While the products are luxurious and amazing, they sometimes appear to be overpriced. Their perfumes are lovely but do not last for very long at all and are not worth the hefty price in my opinion. I also don't like that they switched from glass hand soap and hand lotion bottles to plastic. Dec. 2025 update: I really do love the scent of Aesop products! I got their Coriander seed body wash and it smells incredible! I also got the resurrection hand sanitizer and body scrub. While the items are quite pricey, everything works well and smells fantastic! I typically don't buy Aesop products for myself because of the price, but they make for amazing gifts! The resurrection hand soap is my go-to for gift giving. The packaging is really cool looking and feels hefty/special.

Unfortunately the brand is not over hyped or overpriced because all the products are phenomenal! The scent experiences alone are worth it but the hand and body products also cleanse without stripping the skin of moisture.

Great packaging and a luxe, herbaceous scent that feels spa-worthy. The balm absorbs well and leaves my skin soft without greasiness—nice after winter workouts in Maine. It’s high quality, but the price is steep for daily use; I treat it as a special-occasion body care upgrade.
Feedback
It is hard to justify the price when other brands come in with equally good smelling products.

Aesop products are beautifully formulated and thoughtfully designed—everything from the textures to the earthy, herbal scents feels intentional and luxurious. I especially love the hand wash and the Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm

Beautiful product! I love the packaging and love the products. My favorites so far are the Resurrection Hand Wash and the Hwyl Fragrance. I love washing my hands with the hand wash - the feeling I leave with it clean and sexy. The fragrance is a winner - liked by my male and female friends. Spectacular all around
