Reviews mention

  • Timeless, minimalist aesthetics
  • Versatile, dress-up-or-down styling
  • Sustainability-forward materials ethos
  • Often durable, long-wearing construction
  • Stiff tongue causes rubbing
  • Inconsistent arch support comfort
  • Occasional premature sole wear
  • Sizing quirks and narrow fit

Veja earns strong reviews for chic, versatile sneakers that pair with everything and often last for years, but the brand also draws criticism for stiff break-in, ankle-rubbing tongues, inconsistent comfort and support, and durability issues on certain models. Reviews cite standouts like V-10, Campo, Venturi, Esplar, Rio Branco, and Condor 2 for style and everyday wear, while noting sizing quirks, occasional squeaking, and soles or logos wearing down sooner than expected.

  • I love these shoes! Perfect for every day and love the environmentally conscious mission.

  • I have multiple pairs because I love the look. I have recommended to multiple friends. I can walk around all day casually or dress them up more for dinner, the versatility in color and style is great. Love the brand mission as well.

  • Great quality and fit, and I like how they're innovating with silhouettes in recent months.

The pricing always feels high to me as a somewhat basic sneaker (doesn't feel as 'luxury' as some of the higher pricepoint leather sneaker players).

  • My vegan Vejas sneakers are one of my closet staples. I wear them constantly and they can be easily cleaned! I get compliments on them constantly too.

    Feedback

I wish they had more vegan sneaker options!

  • just love the brand's mission, the design of the shoes, the color, the collab they make every year. Shoes are very confortable. Definitely a must have in your closet.

  • I have the Esplar Leather Low-Top Sneakers in white. The tongue can be really stiff when you first get them so have some band-aids on hand but overall pretty comfortable when you break them in. Into their transparency report and B Corp certification as well.

  • I bought a pair of Veja sneakers a few years ago because I wanted to try velcro (as opposed to lace-up) sneakers as an adult and needed another pair of white sneakers anyway. A trendy mom at the school where I worked had also recommended both their adult and kids shoes to me. Given my job as preschool teacher, I am on my feet all day, so comfort is a high priority, but wearing Hoka's and other such brands to work felt unprofessional and made outfits harder to transition from day to night. The sneakers I got were comfortable. They ran fairly true to size (I wear a 6.5/7 and bought a size 7). Critically they didn't take long to break in. They still looked good with wear and tear. I ended up not loving the velcro style, but intend to buy another style because I liked the product and the ethos of the brand.

  • I have their most simple sneaker with vegan leather. I like the minimalist style, but it's way too thin. It often squeaks and it's not comfortable to wear for long hours. I don't think I would get them again as long as I find another minimalist sneaker brand at a similar price point.

  • My husband and I both have a pair and highly recommend it! Cool and effortless. So easy to clean!

  • I bought my Rio Branco Vejas secondhand and they've been fantastic. I've had them for over a year and wear them multiple times a week. I walk everywhere, so my weekly step count in these must be in the tens of thousands, and they barely look worn. They're the best sneakers I've ever had and I intend on buying them brand new when these finally kick the bucket.

    Nothing

  • I never not have a pair in my wardrobe. Their ethos is amazing, and I love the timeless styles they provide with their sneakers.

  • I love veja sneakers! I am on my third pair and they are super comfortable. They are a great slightly elevated version on a white trainer. Not super heavy and easy to clean with a magic eraser. I will say that as someone who lives in a city they wear down a little quick so I have to buy a new pair every year.

  • Cute looking shoes, but they are so uncomfortable. Zero support and putting in my own makes them far too narrow on my slightly wide foot.

    Feedback

Better soles for support. These feel like walking on concrete.

  • Got a pair for my wife who loves them. Very stylish and high end without being over the top expensive. Great shoes that look like they will last.

  • While I love how this brand has disrupted the shoe industry as a whole being a pioneer with Vegan leather, the tongue of the sneaker is too long and tends to dig into your lower shin as your walk. The earlier Vejas are also hard leather even after breaking them in.

    Feedback

Shorter tongue on the shoe and softer leather!

  • One of my favorite shoes to wear. They're stylish and versatile! They match with anything in my closet.

    Feedback

These shoes when worn all day can begin to rub on the back of your heel.

  • Sustainable brand, great mid-end sneakers. Not the most durable ones I have worn though.

  • Obessed with mine. Love the colors and styles offered.

    Feedback

The laces were very tight on mine so I swapped with some tie-less laces. The shoes are a little narrow on me, but I think I just need to break them in.

  • I love my Vejas - they look great with so many outfits and are comfortable.

    Feedback

They can be hard to clean.

  • Reading the other reviews here and am super confused! These are very stylish shoes, but they absolutely are not comfortable and absolutely do not last — as least for the average NYC walker. Wore them for about 3 months and you can basically see through the soles at the bottom, plus the outsoles are so yellowed they look like they've been through hell and back. Maybe I am walking wrong?

    Feedback

    Comfort, durability.
