Reviews mention

  • Creamy, indulgent texture
  • Inventive, nostalgic flavors
  • Ethical, transparent sourcing
  • Vibrant, giftable packaging
  • Thick, hard-to-break bars
  • Irregular, awkward segments
  • Some dark bars overly sweet
  • Occasional chalky texture

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate and inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Pretzel Toffee, and White Raspberry Popping Candy, while its fair-trade, anti-slavery mission resonates. Reviews also flag drawbacks: bars are very thick with irregular break lines that are hard to portion, some dark varieties run too sweet or chalky, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark bars.

  • I find almost all of the bars to have too much sugar and taste way too sweet. I love the brand and the mission, and the commitment to fair employment on cocoa farms.

It's fun to try, but the amount of sugar and sweetness is too much for me to be my go to chocolate.

  • I always see Tony's at the checkout line at REI and the packaging is always intriguing but I never bought it because chocolate is chocolate right? No. Not only are there amazing flavors, but there is a great mission behind the purchase too. During the Holidays they even had small personal size snacks and everyone at my work office LOVED Tony's Chocolonely. 100% recommend.

  • Tony’s chocolate is delicious and has an amazing mission! It is really good chocolate and on the inside of the wrapper, you can read about how they are working on making slave-free chocolate an industry standard.

  • Delicious, affordable, and ethical! What the heck more could you ask for?

  • I finally decided to give the brand a try after seeing so many great reviews. I purchased the sea salt almond and wowwww. I love the uniqueness of the mould (uneven pieces) and the flavor and quality of the chocolate are out of this world. I look forward to trying many more flavours.

Would love to see some Oat milk options!

  • Love the chocolate. Love the mission. Love the packaging. Love everything.

You're doing a great job at educating about the problems within the chocolate industry. My only feedback is that the unequal portions make it difficult for those with diabetes or other conditions who need to measure their sugar/carb/ingredient intake!

  • Really yummy chocolate, price is a bit higher than your average chocolate bar but definitely worth it. I feel like a lot of fancy/eco chocolate brands don't have a great selection of milk chocolate, but Tony's does.

They work with a supplier that has been linked to slavery (although there is no slavery in their own supply chain). Their argument is that it's necessary in order to produce the chocolate at scale. I do understand, but it's also not great vibes. Hopefully as they grow they can put more pressure on their partner to improve or find some other alternative.

  • I thought the chocolate was delicious and delightfully rich. The dark almond sea salt flavor had the perfect crunch and loved to savor each and every bite. I love the mission behind this brand and super excited to see what comes next!

  • Cannot say enough how delicious this chocolate is! The flavors are fun and yummy! Great price! Great quality! Great packaging!

Hopefully they don’t become too mainstream. Saw them at Whole Foods and honestly missed them

  • I did a blind taste test with Tony's and 9 other brands. Tony's placed last. It doesn't have a notable flavor profile except perhaps alcohol. It's worth noting I only eat dark chocolate, so their milk chocolate might be fine. Hate to give a bad review to a brand doing good in the world!

  • One of my favorite Chocolate brands out there. Great mission-driven company with great values (that hopefully also shines a light on the problems to encourage other brands to follow). I also love how the chunks break off (for like 90% of the bar, some places it's annoying where the logo is) it always feels more satisfying than just a normal square.

I wish there were more varieties! really the only reason I also buy from other brands.

  • good chocolate! i prefer healthier brands like hu though generally but they do have fun packaging and i would get free mini bars a lot when i was in college

  • I absolutely love this chocolate brand and what they stand for. This is very high quality chocolate and it’s very creamy, rich and decadent. The flavors are all great so it’s hard to pick a favorite, but the dark chocolate is to die for! Mmmm!

  • **Review: Tony’s Chocolonely** Tony’s Chocolonely has completely won me over with its rich, delectable flavors and ethical mission. Each bar is a perfect balance of smooth, creamy chocolate and innovative ingredients, making every bite an indulgent experience. What truly sets Tony’s apart is their commitment to ending slave labor in the chocolate industry. By choosing Tony’s, I not only enjoy a superior chocolate experience but also support a brand dedicated to fairness and sustainability. It’s a win-win for my taste buds and my conscience. Highly recommend!

  • High quality and great value. I always can rely on Tony's to put out a great chocolate bar. I am a milk chocolate fan and the hazelnut and hazelnut cookie bars are perfectly sweet, creamy, and crunchy.

  • I love all the fun flavors that tony's puts out. It's my favorite milk chocolate brand, but I prefer other brands if I'm looking for a high-quality dark chocolate.

  • Love the products and what the company stands for. I also love how the bars are broken up with a higher mission in mind.
