The North Face earns strong reviews for lasting warmth, resilient outerwear, and hardworking backpacks, indicating the brand performs well for cold weather and outdoor use; however, critiques cite inconsistent durability in some pieces (peeling raincoat, unraveling seams), wind penetration in basic fleece, and frustrations with warranty service. Reviews highlight dependable parkas, puffers, and the Recon backpack, but note that styling can feel basic and some prefer competitors for performance or aesthetics.

The Arctic Parka has quietly become the coat I reach for every single day once fall turns into winter. What began as my everyday dog-walking jacket has evolved into the piece I build my cold-weather wardrobe around. Designed with expedition-level performance in mind, it holds up through rain, sleet, and snow without ever feeling overly technical. I love the extra length, and the roomy fit makes layering effortless without adding bulk. The fabric feels substantial and protective, yet still flexible enough for long walks, quick errands, and standing around in truly unpredictable weather. It handles wet mornings and freezing afternoons with ease.

My favorite go to jacket for Indiana weather. So warm while not bulky. It’s perfect for my long commutes. Very comfortable for driving. My 85 year old step mom loves hers just as much! Washes well.

have used the brand (and this jacket) for years, from the denali fleece in high school to this down puffer for skiing and true winter weather. lasts forever and keep me super warm - only noticeable aging is fuzz on the velcro.

I have always had a great experience with The North Face! I bought a great backpacking backpack a few years back and it is still a fantastic purchase! Easy to set up as a solo traveler. Also have a fleece jacket that I love to wear!

I have not been disappointed with any North Face product I have purchased. I love the outdoor look and feel of their products and the quality is second to none. I have used their backpack for 8 years and it has held up like a champ and still going strong (despite the harsh realities a collage student and high schooler puts backpacks through). It is also super comfortable and I love that it protects my computer with the protective sleeve.

I have had two north face coats. One is a yellow and blue coat you can see from space. I received a blue jacket as a Christmas gift that I could wear for about 8 months of the year. I like the simpler colors and patterns and their general comfort and warmth.

I have a fleece zip-up that I thrifted a while ago and it still looks great (even though I have no clue how old it is). It's also really warm! I pull it out in 40 degree weather without needing to do any serious layering with it, just my top and this jacket gets the job done.

Good, durable brand of outdoor clothing.
North Face is a great brand. Mid-level price points, & high-quality long lasting products. I really love to see that they are collaborating with so many cool street-style brands. I wish they brought back some of their retro puffers.
Durable and utilitarian
OG sustainable brand. Incredible mission, incredible adventure products. And I love the collaborations. The fleece pullovers are staple in our house.
I bought the Antora water proof jacket for me and my husband 8 years ago in Europe and it is still good and sturdy! These keep us warm under a fairly cold weather and keep us try. It is light weight so taking it with you for hikes, camping, any outdoor activity it will always come in handy.
All my North Face clothing has lasted forever!

Used to only buy the North Face. Had I not realized that everything I owned was from NF, I probably would have continued to buy from them. Cannot go wrong with everything they sell.

Unparalleled quality and durability. It's all I buy for my own snow boarding and kids gear has been able to be passed down multiple times.
North Face is always a solid brand for outdoor needs. From their classic fleece jackets to duffel bags I have been a customer for years. I currently have a large long puffer with belt from them (last season) that I wear almost every day in the winter. Stylist and super warm.
I remember when this brand became popular in the early 2000s it just doesn’t hold up to Patagonia. I remember also purchasing a pair of Norh Face shoes that lasted longer than I expected many years ago OK product, but I still have brand loyalty to Patagonia with their return and repair policy.
It’s a good brand for doing outdoor activities and for exsercising
had the recon backpack that lasted for 8 years, it was quite spacious, going to miss using the backpack
