  • Durable fabric
  • Stain‑resistant finish
  • Neat stitching
  • Luxurious feel
  • Excessive packaging
  • Slow international shipping
  • Oversized sizing
  • Heavyweight fabric

TexTale reviews assert the brand works: shirts consistently repel liquids and feel high-quality, but many reviewers criticize excessively bulky packaging and slow China-based shipping. This makes TexTale a good buy for buyers who prioritize durable, stain-resistant, heavyweight tees but a poor fit for those who want lighter cuts, accurate/unisex sizing, faster delivery, or minimal packaging.

  • Nice fitting basic t-shirt. Easy to brush pet hair off it. Packaging feels excessive for a simple piece of garment, would prefer to pay less and receive the t-shirt in a simple eco-friendly sleeve.

  • Super nice quality shirt - I have yet to try to stain it because I am afraid, but it’s super soft, thick, and I’m pumped to wear it. I ordered a size S and I’m normally a women’s M. My only negative comment is that it took a long time to arrive, and the packaging experience was kind of nuts…the shirt was wrapped in sooo much tissue, with stickers, inside a plastic bag, in a crazy branded tube, within another box. It was like opening a Russian doll. Just a lot to deal with and I know they tout using recycled materials but it’s still just far too much packaging.

    Feedback

Too much packaging - less is more! It can still be a great experience opening the package if you use half the amount of tissue paper and also just ship the tube itself - not sure why the tube also needed to be in a cardboard box.

  • So the shirt is very well made. The collar is truly wonderful and the overall feel of the shirt is lovely - it is a good bit heavier than I expected but after reading the brand’s site it makes a lot more sense. The shirt is packaged extremely well, however it’s pretty intense and honestly crosses the line of being wasteful. First, the shirt does come direct from manufacturing in China so it was a very very long lead time based on my 2022 and beyond expectations for a shirt. I ordered on Dec 16 and it arrived on Jan 3. On the topic of packaging the shirt was rolled and wrapped in lovely branded tissue paper with a custom sticker. It was then in a very small and very nicely made drawstring bag. The drawstring bag was then in a cardboard tube with aluminum caps. The tube was then inside a cardboard box. Lastly the cardboard box was wrapped in plastic. It was a lot - I definitely feel as if this was a rather intense choice in packaging - for a single T-shirt.

Love the shirt but I definitely think minimizing packaging while still keeping it feeling like a higher end item is possible. Also, shipping was long and I do think setting expectations would be helpful as Thingstesting was asking me for this review more than a week before I even got my shirt.

  • Do not purchase from them. 1- the clothes do not fit. 2-the return policy is misleading. They will keep 30% of your total. For instance I paid $103 US for my order, yet they only reimbursed me $73 US, saying they were charging handling fee on top of shipping fee. 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓. Avoid that company at all cost.

  • I ordered a shirt via TexTale for my partner through a ThingDrop release. The shirt is awesome - great fit, great quality. Haven't super stress-tested it's ability to resist stains, but so far no stains on the shirt have really appeared. Only feedback is that shipping took forever - over a month. This might have been because I ordered through a ThingDrop, though!

  • I bought my husband a cream colored t-shirt. I was so intrigued by the no stain/ stain resistant marketing that as soon as it arrived I had my husband try it on so I could splash water on it and as marketed it just rolled right off. Then I was feeling bold so I poured a little iced latte on it and it also rolled off. After I washed it and he wore it out for the first time he accidentally dropped a blob of red pepper hummus on it, and while it didn’t just roll away it did easily wipe off without leaving a mark behind! I truly wish every t-shirt was made like this! It’s soft, cozy, washes well and the sizing is accurate. I think it’s a really solid product and I hope to see more shirt designs from them in the future.

  • I bought this for my husband so I'm passing on some of his feedback. Being 6'4", it's tough to find a shirt that's long enough. This one absolutely fit the bill. The shirt is high-quality, wrinkle-proof, and does appear to repel stains well. It's also held up well in the wash. Would absolutely purchase again!

  • Overall, good quality. It's nice and thick, and definitely holds up to its claims of being water and stain resistant! That said, it's a little long (makes it look a lil awky) and the packaging was SO excessive. It came rolled and wrapped in tissue paper with a sticker, which was then put inside a bag, which was then put inside a tube, which was then put inside a box, which was wrapped in plastic. It felt super wasteful and honestly took away from the experience a little. The tube alone would've been super cool! By simplifying packaging, you can cut costs and make your products more affordable to all.

  • First impression: there was an insane amount of packaging for a t-shirt. It's not going to break, why all the boxes, tubes, plastic??? I bought this shirt for my husband and he's not in love with the fit. It's a little long in the sleeves and body but the girth (I know that's not the right word for this, but just stay with me) fit well. And, my husband is not a weird shaped person. I swear. The material is thick so while it feels nice now, not sure how comfy it will be in summer. My husband spilled some spaghetti sauce on the shirt and it came out without any special rinsing or treatment. No grease or redness remained. So, if stain resistance is a big thing for you, then this is the shirt.

I think maybe a lighter material if that's possible might be nice. And, definitely bring down the amount of packaging involved. You can shove it in a bag and send it on its way and I swear it will be fine. Also, shipping time was SUPER SLOW.

  • I got the T-shirt as a Thingdrop. Let me preface my review by saying that the sheer amount of packaging that was sent was appalling. The single tee came wrapped in tissue paper, then stuffed into a (nice!) plastic bag, then that was in a large cardboard tube, which was in a cardboard box, which finally was wrapped in a plastic mailer bag. W.T.F. Im docking point just on wastefulness alone. The packaging is so excessive it doesn't even feel premium, it feels like they are compensating for something, which leads me to the meat of the review... The tee: Its fine. Personally, I prefer a slimmer fit but I don't hold that against them. Its a nice thick fabric and I think the color is actually great. The big selling point is supposed to be the resistance to liquids and stans, but in my test (with plain water) it was only mediocre in repelling water. As a backpacker and outdoors enthusiast, Im no stranger to water repellence and this is mid. Some drops of water definitely soak into the shirt, and most of the water just beads up and hangs on to the fabric, requiring a pretty good shake to remove, if allowed to remain on the fabric some roll of and some don't.

Please, for the love of god, reduce your packaging.

  • Instead of trying this shirt out for myself, since it seemed geared toward men, I purchased a t-shirt for my brother to be included as part of his Christmas gifts. Of course, it did not arrive until a little while after the holiday, which is a bit disappointing as it was purchased on December 16th. I did have a bit of an issue with it being sent directly from China, since it meant not only waiting 3 weeks to receive the product but also likely meant that the actual company did not inspect the product after it was produced to make sure nothing was wrong with it before being sent to its final destination. Additionally, as others have pointed out, there was a lot of packaging for such a simple product. I thought the packaging was neat and I might find a way to reuse the tube, but most of the time when something is in a tube, that is all the packaging it needs. That was not the case with this brand, as they used another box to protect the tube. The shirt was also in another bag within the tube, which is ironically complicated considering the tube has text that says "great storytelling should always be simple". Thankfully, my brother did not report any issues with the charcoal stain-repellent t-shirt he got. It feels heavier than a normal shirt, but to him, that signaled it was high quality. I got him a size medium as that is what he always wears, and he commented that it was a bit bigger than what he was used to. But overall it seems like he enjoyed wearing the shirt. As far as I know, he did not spill anything on it to test out the stain-repellant feature. The biggest issue he had was with the price. Even at a discount that brings it down to $39, that is a lot of money for him for a plain shirt. That being said he is still in college and does not really care much about clothing quality in general, so he is likely not the target market. But for someone who wants a high-quality t-shirt that will last a long time, this could be a good choice. Just be prepared to wait a while to get the item you ordered.

Less packaging so it resonates more with the commitment to nature promised on the website.

  • The packaging was like Inception. A shirt in a bag in a tube in a box in a box… too much! The shirt itself is a super thick material which isn’t really my preference. The cut is really weird. Lifting my arms gives me pointed shoulders (I think a mix of the sturdy material and the cut). Don’t think I’ll be keeping it.

No need for all the packaging

  • High quality design and manufacturing to these t-shirts, no doubt. You can feel/see the density of the fabric and the attention to detail in the stitching. All in, impressive albeit somewhat expensive. But as a luxury item, all good.

Bit overdone in terms of the boxing/packaging. For a sustainable brand, it could be more sensitive in that regard.

  • Beautiful thick fabric with solid, expensive finishes. Lovely rib neck finish. Soft! Longer than your average t shirt! AKA: Tall Friendly :) Absolutely wild to see how water just... rolls off the fabric. I immediately ran this bad boy under the tap to just watch the water roll off. Only time will tell how this t shirt wears, but this isn't your average t shirt. If this t shirt wears well over the year, I will say $52 is a steal. Potential great quality investment...

The t shirt was rolled neatly in a quality bag and placed inside a tube, which was delivered in a box. It was a semi-lux experience to unpackage but wasteful for 1 t shirt. Consider using less packaging.

  • I was so excited to get this shirt! I am a spill queen, and look forward to see how it works out. The shirt fits nicely is is very comfortable. I must say the amazing package was fun to open, but a little excessive. Unfortunately, the shipping was very, very slow and it would be nice to gat a fix on this!

  • While the shirt is nice, I would never pay full price for this product. The brand doesn’t seem to be very sustainable.

Shipping took MONTHS. I contacted customer support and they were not very helpful, just told me to keep waiting even though the tracking showed no updates.

  • Per all the other reviews here, it took a while to get here and the amount of packaging these shirts come in is absurd. Not only that, but I bought 3, and each tee came in it's own never-ending Mary Poppins bag of packaging. Like, each tube was inside it's own shipping box and all of the boxes were taped together. Why not just put the 3 tubes in 1 box? Anyway, aside from that, my husband really likes the shirts and he looks great in them. They're true to size. They don't look or feel cheap at all, I like the silhouette, we did test the liquid resistance and that claim checks out. He did the dishes in one earlier and splashed water all over, but not a water mark in sight. I also ran them under the faucet when I received them and they held a good amount of water. We've washed and dried them, and they're still in great shape. I'd feel confident spilling red wine on these.

  • As with the other reviews I have read, the puzzle I did to take this shirt out of the packaging was ridiculous. I know that should not be my main takeaway from this product but it 1000% is. So. Much. Packaging. The shirt is nice and thick, I got my husband the black one and it looks great on him. It is definitely men's sizing. The product does not feel cheap even the slightest bit, it feels lux it even looks lux for a basic black t-shirt. I haven't done any water or stain resistant testing on it yet, but resistant and proof are not the same thing so if you get it wet enough it will still get you wet. Overall the product itself I have no complaints with yet, mostly packaging.

Less packaging, it is coming from China and it took a while to arrive.

  • I have to agree with the other review, I was a bit frustrated my package arrived after Christmas because (it comes directly from China so longer lead times) and it was a gift. Otherwise, the packaging was cool and the quality is good! It did prevent stains.

Warehouse in the US for quicker lead times, or more visibility on shipping lead times would be great. :)
