RAO’s earns high marks in reviews for delivering fresh, homemade‑tasting sauces with clean, low‑sugar ingredients and standout varieties like Arrabbiata, Vodka, and Sensitive Marinara that many consider the best jarred options. Reviews also flag drawbacks: frequent comments about a higher price, occasional acidity or oiliness, mixed opinions on marinara and vodka sauce boldness, and concerns from a few about quality changes post‑acquisition.

This sauce has always been good (remember when Ina Garten recommended it years ago?). Since then it's become very popular (is now owned by Campbells Soup), and the recipe seems to have changed. Not as good as it once was and certainly not worth the cost anymore.
Rao’s is a staple in our home and we use it about once a week. It’s delicious, has a rich flavor and has chunks of peppers and mushrooms throughout. This is my favorite store bought brand sauce because it tastes homemade. If you don’t tell anyone it’s from a jar they will think it took you all day to make this!
Rao's Sensitive Marinara Sauce is a standout in the world of pasta sauces. Its rich, authentic flavor and smooth texture make it perfect for those with sensitive stomachs without sacrificing taste. The sauce has a wonderful balance of ripe tomatoes and aromatic herbs, delivering a homemade feel that elevates any dish. Whether you're pairing it with pasta, using it as a base for pizza, or incorporating it into other recipes, Rao's Sensitive Marinara Sauce consistently brings a touch of gourmet quality to your meals. Highly recommended for its exceptional taste and gentle ingredients.
good classic sauce that makes any homemade pasta taste great

This is hands down the best store bought pasta sauce on the market. Each of the varieties I have tried have been delicious. There is something very authentic about Rao's sauce. The brand is also expanding offerings in frozen meals. Also great
Not my go-to, but it's solid and I recommend it.
Rao's sauce is truly in a league of its own! The flavors are rich, fresh, and taste like homemade, with quality ingredients that make all the difference. You can tell they don’t skimp on the good stuff—no artificial aftertaste, just pure, authentic flavor that elevates any dish. Whether it’s a classic marinara or arrabbiata, Rao's adds a perfect balance of herbs and spices that works wonders with pasta, pizza, or even as a base for other recipes. It's absolutely worth the premium price, and once you try it, you’ll never go back to other jarred sauces!

Solid sauce but nothing too out of the ordinary. The taste and texture are great though.
Rao’s is my favorite jarred pasta sauce. If I am too lazy to make it myself, I can always count on this stuff. I am so glad they carry it in a 2 pack at Costco, otherwise it can get a little pricey. I have yet to try since they were bought out and my fingers are crossed the quality remains the same.
My go-to store bought pasta sauce. It’s unbelievably good, tastes homemade , and wonderful for multi step dishes like lasagne and baked ziti when you don’t want to make your own sauce.
The best!
My go-to pantry staple. It is the closest thing to fresh homemade pasta sauce I've found. Well done and always consistently a solid choice.

In my experience Raos is some of the best grocery store canned pasta sauce out there! Its a little more expensive (at least where I am in canada) than others but I think it's worth it, as the ones ive tried specifically the arabiatta is quite flavourful and its rare that I think a storebought pasta sauce is worth eating by the spoonful.
My favorite grocery store pasta sauce!
rao’s is very reliable pasta sauce. i usually dress mine up with some fresh tomatoes cooked in, red pepper flakes, and some fresh herbs when i have them on hand. it’s also relatively affordable and easily found at target or wegmans, which comes in handy for last minute dinners.

the BEST store sauce I've ever had. Nervous the quality will change now that it's owned by campbell's, but will wait and see.
Always good
Take a garlic marinara sauce jar and a basil marinara sauce jar and cook it together. Thank me later! Best non trendy sauce / San marzano sauce out there.
Rao’s is the best marinara sauce hands down. It does lean in the pricier side but it is definitely worth it. If you have a Costco near you they always have the best price.
I thought this pasta sauce was good but I also thought it was a bit expensive. I wish that I could purchase this morgue and try other flavors but what's holding me back is the price. I thought that this product had some original and also unique flavor offerings.
