I tried this product when it first came out and I was really disappointed. I lost SO MUCH hair when I started using this product. I thought it might have been a trust-the-process type of thing so I used it for a month...I did not like it. I don't think the products are customized to you – I think it's all one formula and they make it seem like it's built for you. It feels like Curology for hair.

Shampoo is a must try.

I have tried this product a few times and at first I didn’t like it and felt it wasn’t really helping my hair but after reaching out their customer service team, they were prompt to change my formula and send me a new one for free which I really appreciated! Ended up liking the next shipment with different ingredients much better. It really does feel natural on my hair but i didn’t really notice many differences using this compared to other natural hair products.

Great idea but really pricey for what it is and also the customer service is not reliable.

I have been using Prose shampoo for the last 6 months and enjoy it. The repeat shipping is convenient and their customer service is great. I like that it's a sustainable company and seems to put their money where their mouth is. Pricing is more than you would find at a drugstore but not as expensive as you would find at a salon, so all and all pretty good! I have not tried their skincare yet.

Just kind of meh for the price. Smelled nice, but didn’t really help my hair in the way I wanted (curl definition).

Good customization services

They talk a lot of talk but I haven’t found their product to be that good for me.

Love my made to order hair mask, shampoo and conditioner. I don’t really understand why, but it is some of the best hair care I’ve used: I assumed it just a bit of a gimmick but I like the results and I’ve stuck with it for over a year.

I have used Prose for about a year now and have found a noticeable difference in the texture of my hair. I enjoyed going through the process of customizing my products and it is great to be able to tweak the formula as needed based on seasonal or style changes. I find the scents to be subtle but still very positive. You do have to be careful to make sure to check your subscription order each month, because I have ended up with a bit of a back stock of conditioner. Other than that, love the brand!

I had a hit/miss experience as a Prose customer. I loved that everything was customizable, but I felt like the refining of my formula each time made the results very unpredictable. I appreciated that they offered seasonal scents, but was disappointed when my faves got discontinued. Overall, I used it for about a year and decided ultimately to switch to something more consistent and lower cost.

I didn't love it, it didn't work that well for me. I didn't notice a big difference in my hair. I have fine hair and it felt too heavy. The concept of individualized hair care is great, though!

I got Prose products years ago, I personally don't feel that this stuff is made for you "personally" at all, I think its a giant scam to get you to spend $30 on a tiny bottle of shampoo.. Raw Sugar works better from Target. (The brand not actual sugar)

I wanted to love this product so much, and invested in the Shampoo, Conditioner, and Hair Oil, but would not repurchase any of it. The shampoo and conditioner dried out my hair so badly. I don't know if the formula just stripped the oils out, but the custom formulation didn't work for me at all. I did like the Hair Oil, but I can get better hair oils from salon-quality brands that ship faster and have historically worked very well for me. Maybe it's just not great for Asian hair, but loved the concept!

Not sure what I'm missing about this brand, but the personalized shampoo made my scalp itchy, and the curl cream doesn't work that well. Might be my hair and sensitive skin, though!

It didn’t work better than my regular shampoo and conditioner. Actually it made my scalp more flaky. Stopped using it after a bottle - not worth the hype imo.

I didn’t hate the shampoo and conditioner I used from Prose for a few months, but I definitely didn’t love it either. I think other brands do better for the money, and this brand over-promises what customization can achieve for you.
