Ouai impresses in reviews for effective detox shampoo, weightless-yet-smoothing hair oil, and evocative scents like St. Barts and Melrose Place, confirming the brand works for deep cleansing and soft, shiny results. However, multiple reviews flag overpowering fragrance, residue or dryness with continued use, hit-or-miss styling (especially Wave Spray), and packaging issues with thick conditioners—making performance and scent tolerance highly hair-type dependent.

Just the smell alone for ouai makes it worth the money but all their products are such high quality it’s really a small luxury
I enjoy their leave in conditioner but I do find that the scent becomes a bit sickly after a while. I do like how it makes my hair feel.

I tried the leave in conditioner and it’s great. The smell is nice and it works well. The spray bottle is convenient too.
Wave Spray and Leave-In Condish are my favorite products, and oooooh THAT SMELL! So good. Their Detox shampoo is good, but no idea if it's really any better than a cheaper one you can stumble into at Target. The Leave In mask is just ok, but I would always buy the Wave Spray!

I really love this product . I have thick and frizzy hair and this shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair smooth and strong.
Makes my hair so soft! I love the smell and feel of the products. The thick hair formulas are excellent and help tame frizz.
I got a sample of their body butter with a different beauty purchase and immediately ordered more. It's incredibly silky and doesn't leave me feeling "coated," but moisturizes well. Fragrances can often irritate my somewhat sensitive skin but the *amazing* scent of this one doesn't!
Love this products , smells so good and it works 🥹🥹🥹😍 love it
By FAR... One of the best products for the hair that I have ever tried! I use their conditioner and their detox shampoo. I am in love! The conditioner for thin hair is so good, it has made my hair super strong
I have used the Ouai texture spray. I love the smell and it leaves my hair feeling good adding texture without sticking or clumping my hair.
Ouai has a fantastic product line. I'm partial to the Wave Spray because it delivers salt spray results without any dryness. The shampoos and conditioners are good, don't get me wrong, but I miss the old formulas. The Clean shampoo and conditioner were some of the best I'd ever used.
The detox shampoo has been the only "detox" shampoo that actually works on my oily hair! I have tried so many products and was ecstatic to find Ouai. I also love the fine hair shampoo
LOVE. I currently use the detox shampoo and previously used the leave-in conditioner. The detox shampoo really works and my hair feels clean after two days of using dry shampoo. It's not too over-drying either like some clarifying shampoos can be. I liked the leave-in spray but the scent not so much.
These are just fine. Nothing great but not bad. My hair just always looks ok when I use the products and if I use them for too long my hair starts not looking that great. There are a lot of other brands I'd buy before this.

I loved their hair oil and the scent but ultimately couldn’t justify the price.
I’ve only tried their leave in conditioner but I love it. I got it in a sample pack from Sephora and I will definitely be going back for more. I have 4c hair and it worked for me. Can’t wait to try more products
I've been loving the clarifying shampoo. My hair feels soft and free of build-up. I'm not sure I can justify the price, but it's definitely an effective product.
I have tried many Ouai products over the years, and my fav so far has to be the leave-in conditioner! Leaves my hair feeling very soft, and clean and smells nice too! Kinda pricey for the quantity though.
I tried Ouai's Hand Wash and really liked the scent, Dean Street. It cleans well and doesn't dry out my hands, making it a great product overall. That said, my experience with their hair products was somewhat mixed. Yes, the fragrances are luxurious, but unfortunately, in the case of the hair products, it's a bit too robust. As someone sensitive to strong fragrances, I found the scent overpowering, to the point of being distracting. Moreover, the performance of the hair products was just okay - they weren't a game-changer for me. Given OUAI's reputation and the price point, I expected to be wowed. Unfortunately, the results were not remarkable enough to warrant a repurchase. While OUAI does an excellent job of instilling a sense of indulgence in everyday routines through their fragrance, I'd urge the brand to consider offering milder options for those of us who prefer subtler scents, especially for their haircare line.
