Reviews mention

  • Creamy, dairy-like mouthfeel
  • Exceptional barista-grade frothing
  • Versatile, cooking-friendly consistency
  • Consistently smooth, neutral flavor
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Occasional glucose-spike concerns
  • Possible gut sensitivity reports
  • Inconsistent thickness across versions

Oatly earns strong reviews for creamy, dairy-like texture—especially the Barista Edition, which froths reliably for café-level lattes and blends beautifully in coffee, matcha, and baking—while critiques target ingredient lists with added oils/gums and a sometimes sweet or “oaty” aftertaste. Reviews also note occasional gut sensitivity and glucose spikes, plus variability in thickness across versions, making Oatly a standout for performance in drinks but not ideal for those seeking the cleanest formulas.

  • A solid oat milk product! As much as oatly really forged a path in for Oat Milk as a milk alternative, their product isn't exceptional now that there's plenty of oat alternative brands out there. A reliable option, but nothing special.

The high sugar content is a really big barrier for choice, personally. If there was a lower sugar version I would have a much higher purchase intent.

  • My favorite of the alternative milks (and real milk is gross, please don't drink that). Best flavor. Color and feel could maybe be less watery but not if it requires adding stabilizers or anything.

  • I didn’t love Oatly. I believe it upset my stomach a bit and I thought it was a bit chalky. But I know people who love it so this could just be me.

Consistency and elimination of any ingredients that are known to upset digestion.

  • I'm into non-dairy milks / milk products for sure. It's a little pricey, but I know it's very loved by baristas (especially this brand, which touts sustainability despite it's investment from Blackstone). I understand that small companies need large scale investment to grow. They make awesome oat milk ice cream though - the strawberry is my favorite!

  • Flavor is okay but the ingredients are not the best, some unnecessary. There are better brands

  • I was hesitant to try oat milk... I'd tried soy and almond and both were decent but I'm not a huge milk drinker and only ever get it in my lattes. Enter Starbucks chai lattes & a Tiktok recommending oat milk (Starbucks uses Oatly). Love at first sip. The rest is history.

  • The product itself tastes good. However, Oatly as a company has been riddled with controversy so I cannot in good conscience continue to support the brand. I believe there are just as good - if not better - oat milks available.

  • My favorite is the full fat Oatly, it's delicious.

I wish it did not separate in coffee, that's a bummer.

  • I am a big half and half man with my coffee and this is the first "oat milk" that has been truly a solid replacement for dairy and this actual froths which is a great advancement in the milk alternative space!

  • Literally the best oatmilk I have ever had in my life. I have tested almost all other grocery store brand and this is by far my favorite! I usually get the extra fat, super clean taste, no weird after taste like cow milk. Love the nuttiness in the aftertaste as well. I use it to make matcha latte almost every morning

Price…! All other oatmilk on sale constantly.

  • I love Oatly! Tried their milk, creamers, yogurt, and ice creams. Sometimes it can taste bland but it's just healthy!

  • GREAT taste and I especially love the barista edition

Ingredients :/ There's a lot of oat milk alternatives [like Malk] that don't use oil and are still creamy.

  • I love the taste of Oatly and love how it blends in with drinks and even food (like soups sometimes). I used to buy it all the time but haven't been buying it much anymore due to how processed it is.

  • I like Oatly, use it in my coffee and it's great. The consistency is perfect for coffee drinks, and the taste is good. I have heard it's relatively unhealthy, but I use very little, so I'm not too worried but worth looking into.

  • The perfect brand. I have nothing bad to say about it - love the brand, the packaging and most importantly the product! Use it in everything and every day! Everyone should have it at home!
