Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • I like Oatly, use it in my coffee and it's great. The consistency is perfect for coffee drinks, and the taste is good. I have heard it's relatively unhealthy, but I use very little, so I'm not too worried but worth looking into.

  • The perfect brand. I have nothing bad to say about it - love the brand, the packaging and most importantly the product! Use it in everything and every day! Everyone should have it at home!

    Feedback

    nothing. love it.

  • I wasn't the biggest fan of this product. It doesn't taste all that great compared to the other (better) options on the market.

    Feedback

The taste and texture could improve.

  • Tastes good and goes well with coffee. One of the best-foaming + stable milk alternatives. However, the amount of sugar it has is not really emphasized when it's marketed as a "healthier" alternative to dairy.

    Feedback

    Less sweet?

  • As someone who is lactose-intolerant, I have tried just about every dairy-free alternative under the sun. Oatly is my absolute favorite- it's creamy and steams/froths very well! I use it daily! Also, their newer products, like their ice creams are A+ as well!

  • Really like it in my Chai Latte, glad now I have another delicious choice on top of almond milk. Love how they market the brand.

  • Great taste and something I can drink everyday. Since I am lactose intolerant, this has been a great alternative.

  • Big fan of Oatly — and from a PR perspective, impressed with the way the company elegantly and professionally handled the media's attempt to "expose" its investment from Blackstone. Their oat milk is a staple in my fridge and I can't wait to try the ice cream and creme fraiche!

    Feedback

The Oatly "skinny" milk is pretty watery — I like the "semi" and "whole" variations much better for coffee!

  • It works pretty well for lattes and the nutty taste goes well with coffee and cereal. But I drink cow milk and it just doesn't compare.

    Feedback

It just doesn't have the rich mouthfeel of even skim milk and the taste is noticeably oat-y. I guess it's not something to improve, just something to keep in mind.

  • The taste of any of their products? Amazing. The price? Not so much. Is it worth it? I used to think so because I thought of their morals

    Feedback

To me, it's hard not to think that they're sell outs now that they sold some of their company to Blackstone, a company with very little ethics.

  • It's a great tasting oat milk. It's the original and I owe it to Oatly for being the ones to make oat milk take off in the US. Kudos to you. Personally I prefer Califia Farms' oat milk because it froths better with my espresso maker + milk steamer but I still like Oatly and am happy when coffee shops have it as a milk alternative.

  • Oatly is usually the brand that local coffee shops carry. I appreciate the branding and also the taste when used as a milk substitute.

    Feedback

Haven't tried too many other oat milks or done an intentional comparison, so this might apply to oat milk more broadly, but it seems less viscous than other milk alternatives and has a slight aftertaste, so it's not something I'd drink on its own.

  • Actually makes tasty oat milk. One of my go to's, as a I only drink oat milk as a lactose-intolerant / nut allergic person. It's tasty and creamy and not too watery. Get the barista addition if you want your at home latees to taste like the store.

  • The most milk-like tasting oat milk on the market.

  • One of my favorite brands of oatmilk. I love how long this stays fresh for. The price is a little high, but definitely worth it for a healthier alternative to milk.

  • Very creamy oat milk that is great for coffees or cereal, in particular. Has a nice body to it, and doesn't taste watered down.

  • Nice brand. Just honestly switched back to Lactaid. Nothing really replaces the bright taste of cow's milk. However if I'm at a coffee shop which for some reason never has Lactaid, I often choose Oatly for a capuchin. It foams best. And I like this brand a lot if I'm going to pick up Oat this is the one.
