Leaf Shave reviews and discussion

For years I've been shaving my head with a cartridge razor and it was awful. Even with a good brush and some excellent shave soap, the process took forever, was painful, and was generally unpleasant. I'd been researching safety and DE razors that were good for head shaving, and found that Leaf was repeatedly mentioned as a favorite. Lucky for me, my wife had one that she wasn't using very much, so I ordered some blades to try and off I went. This thing is AMAZING. I still don't love having to shave my head all the time, but with the Leaf I really don't mind it as much. It's faster, more comfortable, and gives a better shave than the cartridges, and I can't imagine using anything else. One important thing worth mentioning is that the Leaf is pretty heavy when you compare it to a cartridge razor and if you're using it for wet shaving, the grip ($5 from their site) is a must. For anyone curious, I'm using Nacet blades at the moment and they've been great. Planning to try some others to see what works best.

After using up all remaining 'normal' (aka plastic edged) razor cartridges in my home, I purchased a Leaf razor. I really like the concept of recycling the blades (although most municipal recylcing programs will not take them - need to send them into the company) and not creating more landfill. I was a bit nervous and figured I would have a couple nicks and cuts after my first attempt. Not at all! The head is remarkably flexible, loading the razor cartridges was very straightforward (there is a youtube video they recommend viewing) and the shave was close and seamless. You MUST get the silicone sleeve for the handle - far too slippery without it. Very excited to continue to use this!

Shipped surprisingly quickly! High quality, sturdy, and sleek materials. Despite the great educational videos, I found it tough to use my first time around. I think as use it more frequently, I’ll get better at it. Looking forward to trying the razors!

The shaver came very fast and the packaging is amazing. The matetials feel high quality. I loved the minimal packaging and the instruction card. I have tried to use it two times and have not gotten the hang of it but it could be me. I will do some more research and update my review

I love my Leaf Razor! I have what I like to call the 'mermaid design' and it is so pretty in my shower :) Pros: Sustainable alternative to plastic disposable razors. Incredibly easy to refill blades, and each set of blades works for a very long time. I believe in 8 months of use I have only replaced my blades 3 times. The handle has a great, substaintial, solid feel to it and the weight allows me to get a really close shave. Cons: The initial investment is steep, but in my opinion worth it in the long run.

Love the weight and quality of it but it does require some practice to learn how to use it correctly and safely if you are used to plastic dermaplaner. I had a few cuts the first time I used it and still getting used to it after a few uses - but it's worth the learning curve given the sustainability and my commitment to cutting as much plastic out of my life as I can! Will report back once I've used it more.

I have had a pleasant expierence with this. I use it for my brows and it works like a charm. I love that you can switch out the blades and that it came with an extra. Love the weight to it too. I'd purchase again!

I bought the dermaplaner as a Thingdrop and initially wasn’t super impressed, but after a few more uses I’ve grown to like it more. I think I may have put the blade in backwards the first time, because when I put in the second blade/guard I found it to work significantly better! I really love that it is plastic free and ships in recyclable boxes with minimal waste. I also love that it’s refillable and reusable. The refill blades seem to be fairly priced, but are currently out of stock so I can’t see how much shipping will make the total yet. It is very sharp, and if you don’t get the angle quite right or place the blade down a little too hard on your skin it’s easy to nick yourself a little which isn’t ideal, obviously. It’s an easy adjustment though!

I purchased the dermaplaner through a thing drop and had a great experience with it. Since I was used to plastic, there was a definite learning curve. The weight and the angle takes some getting used to but leaves your skin super smooth.

I’m obsessed with my dermaplaner! First of all, the object itself is just beautiful. It also feels really sturdy and well-made. The instructions and links to how-to videos that come in the box were perfect to get started quickly. It’s incredible satisfying to see unwanted peach fuzz (especially on my forehead) and dead skin come off of my face. My face feels so soft immediately after and my skin was glowing for a few days after using it. This has already claimed a permanent spot in my skin care routine.

Okay this slapped so hard. I’m a hairy gal, I got those thiccccc eyebrows and some upper lip whiskers. Sometimes I rock it but sometimes I don’t want a uni brow and I use one of those plastic razors to get at those hairs. The leaf shaver was way better! Totally removed all those lil guys. Feels very high quality too.

This review is in reference to the dermaplaner. I’ve dermaplaned before using this tool and enjoyed the results, but not the resulting irritation (ie red bumps). Then leaf came along. Firstly the tool is very aesthetically pleasing. It also does a great job at shaving off fine facial hair, though it is hard to maneuver in tighter spaces or corners. No irritation though! For cleanliness purposes, I only use blades once. The blades/ guards are a little over priced when compared to other safety razor blades, but cheaper than disposable dermaplaners and better for the planet. You definitely don’t need this, but if you want to dermaplane, this is a great option.

Oh my goodness this dermoplaner is a dream! My face is so smooth! I nicked myself once which was solely my fault for a silly mistake but even that was tiny and didn't cause any discomfort. I love this and am obsessed with Leaf now!

I got the the dermaplaner from the Thingdrop; I was also kind of curious in dermaplaning/Leaf as a brand so this was kind of perfect for me honestly. So far this thing is VERY COOL! It's definitely high quality, it was very easy to use and put together, which was great for cleaning/sanitizing after I used it. There is a bit of a learning curve being that I've literally never shaved my face before and the directions said you could do it dry or with a little oil. I did it dry but next time, I'll definitely try it with some facial oil. Overall, very neat product and I'll definitely be trying their regular razors!

I love my leaf! If you are nervous about ditching your plastic razor, I implore you to try leaf! It is nearly the same as the pivoting head razors so the learning curve isn’t so steep! It has a really premium look and feel. Plus I love their shave bar!

I bought their classic razor a couple of years ago and feel that it was a very good investment. I hated how wasteful trad razors were. I personally don't shave super often, but the fem basics, armpit, lets, bikini... This gives a great shave. It is very easy to use and clean.

These razors are wonderful. Love the feel and such a high quality product! Makes shaving fun!
