Jackfir
Experience
I wanted to use the Jackfir moisturizer for a bit before leaving my review, and after a month, I'm happy to report that I really like this product. In a month since I started using it regularly, my skin has been noticeably healthier looking and less dry. I've been on a mission to find great skin care products for men, and the last two moisturizers I used both left me with dry and sometimes even flaky skin. I have somewhat sensitive skin and I haven't had any breakouts or other issues with Jackfir. One thing I've noticed about the Jackfir moisturizer vs. some of the others I've used is just how little of it I need to use for a single application...a little bit goes a long way, but it gets absorbed pretty quickly and doesn't leave any visible residue or oiliness. Overall. I really like this one and will almost certainly try out some of their other products.
Feedback
I like the product, and though it won't stop me from using it, I wasn't crazy about the scent. I read on the box what it's supposed to smell like, but to me it just has this kind of strong muskiness vibe, but not good musky, more like time to clean the sauna musky. It's a totally subjective thing, but the scent didn't land for me. Good thing is that it goes away pretty quickly and again, the product is so solid that I don't care. My only other complaint is that it doesn't have any sunscreen in it. My guess, given how many skin care products opt for moisturizers without sunscreen, is that it's not easy to mix the two (or at least not easy to mix the two and end up with as good of a product). So for now, it's Jackfir then some sunscreen, which is a bit of a bummer, but worth it.
Who Gives a Crap
Experience
I was super skeptical when my wife announced that we were changing away from my beloved ultra soft toilet paper to something made from bamboo. I was especially concerned about the perceived roughness and thinness of Bamboo toilet paper (sorry if that's TMI). Suffice to say, I've been very happy with the move and most of my fears have been assuaged. Bluntly, it isn't quite as soft as the old stuff, but Who Gives a Crap makes up for it in another ways - sustainability, company mission, convenience, to name a few - but it is soft enough, and I'm glad we made the move.
Feedback
Not much unless you can figure out how to make it a little softer.
Warby Parker
Experience
Good quality, solid styles, and consistent pricing. I've been buying Warby Parker sunglasses almost exclusively for the past 6 years. They look good, last awhile, and they aren't so expensive that I mind when I drop them or forget them somewhere. I've never bought their prescription glasses, so I can't comment on that, and I've almost only ever bought them in store (an experience I've found to be super easy and efficient). My biggest complaint about the WP sunglasses is that they do tend to lose their shape over time and can slide off your nose (or at least, I've had that problem :) ). The nice part is that if you take them into a store, they'll reshape them for you. A little inconvenient at times, but way better than buying a new pair.
Feedback
I sometimes feel that the frames scratch really easily. I have kids and I bend down all the time to pick them up and sometimes the kids pull my glasses off my face, either way, they end up falling on the ground a lot, and even soft landings seem to scratch the frames. I only really care when they're new, but it would be nice if they stayed new looking a little longer.
Nanit
Experience
We really like the Nanit. Out of the box to installed in the nursery was a quick and painless process, and the app is easy to use and intuitive. We switched to Nanit for our second kiddo from one of the camera + monitor combos and it's been a major upgrade. The camera quality is good (much better than the previous setup), we can use our phones when we're outside the house with the other kiddo to keep an ear (and sometimes an eye) on the little one, and it looks nice. When we bought our Nanit it came with a 1 year subscription to the premium app, which was awesome. They offer a bunch of different add-on products, but we've only used the mobile mount (which has been fantastic when we travel. A few things to note; If you keep the app open, even in the background, it does drain your phone battery. Much faster if you have the app open (duh), but it's something to be aware of. The ONLY major drawback / issue I have with the Nanit is the inability to move the camera remotely. Every once in awhile we'll get a sound notification and we can see that they baby is asleep. There's a decent field of view with the camera as it is, but if I could move the camera, I'd be able to see if the noise was from the dog or our older kiddo checking in on her sister. Not a huge issue, since again, the field of view is good enough as it, but it could be awesome.

Not really anything.

Dosist
Experience
This would be a five if you could recycle the Dosist pens. I'm older and Dosist makes it super easy to find what I'm looking for. They have a finite amount of options so you don't have to overthink, and as the name implies, the doses are pretty well measured and blends do what they say - something I've had issues with with other products. The desist pens are nicely designed, discrete, and pretty easy to take anywhere. Flavor-wise, the taste is pretty clean and doesn't linger in your mouth for very long.

Better recycling. Please. Figure out a way to give people a credit or freebie for every 5 that they recycle. Anything :)
Bitchin' Sauce
Experience
This is one of those snacks that is great to have around. I've eaten the original, chipotle, and cilantro chili, and all three were pretty good. They taste good, are made with quality ingredients, have some nutritional value, and you can dip veggies, chips, pretzels to your hearts content. I love that I can find these at Costco in the three pack.
Feedback
Totally subjective, but I like some flavors more than others.
Harmless Harvest
Experience
Harmless Harvest is delicious. Let's start there, since if coconut water doesn't taste good, all of the other stuff isn't important. Harmless delivers on their mission to make delicious coconut water ethically. It's available in lots of places, and I've found the quality to be very consistent.

Move away from plastic bottles.
Liquid Death
Experience
It was wet. It was cold. And it didn't taste like anything (sorry for all you Evian lovers). I like water and therefore, I like Liquid Death. But the water in this case is really the entry point. They had to get that part right to do all the other fun things that they are doing, all of which I feel they do incredibly well. Great story, fun marketing, and environmental awareness and message that I can get behind. What's not to love?
Feedback
Nothing. I never thought about water in a can until Liquid Death and now it's just another fact of life.
Native
Experience
I had been looking for a natural deodorant and my wife suggested checking out Native. Right off the bat, I liked the simplicity in the packaging and branding, and I really liked the scents. I used Native deodorant for around 6 weeks. While it smelled great when applied, I found that it didn't keep me smelling very fresh throughout the day. To be fair, I'm a hirsute, and usually-bearded guy, who walks 3-5 miles a day with the dog, and can get a little sweaty. Still, in my mind, a good deodorant should mitigate my natural must over the course of a normal day, or it's just not for me. In the case of Native, it just didn't cut it. On top of that, I did experience some skin irritation and some of my shirts had a really unpleasant smell after washing them (when I stopped using Native, the smell went away). Skin and body care is really dependent on the person and unfortunately, Native wasn't for me.
Feedback
I don't know what led to the skin reaction that I had, but I don't get it from the Dr. Squatch deodorant that I'm now using. Not sure if I'm the only one that experienced that, but that would be a major improvement. The clothes smell was another thing. It drove me absolutely bonkers. I'd put on a shirt fresh from the laundry and there was this pungent smell coming from the armpits. Was it an interaction between Native and the detergent I use? Maybe. But whatever it was, it was bad, and again, not an issue with the deodorant that I'm using now.
Lumin
Experience
I've been on a mission to test out different male-focused skin care brands, and Lumin was next up on my list. I like the option to do a trial run and I added on the eye gel and anti-aging serum to get the full experience. Packaging and overall branding was nice and minimal. One thing I noted was that the product names on the trial packaging didn't match up with the names in the product book. Not a huge issue, but slightly confusing if you plan to reorder. My experience with the products has been okay so far. I'm generally looking for skin care that is fragrance-free, and most of the skin care products don't have any noticeable scent. As some testers have noted, the daily moisturizer isn't SPF, so you'll need an additional sun screen, but I generally like the feel. No breakouts or bad reactions, and my skin does feel a little less dry. We'll see in the coming weeks if I notice any difference or improvement over the last brand; I generally try to test for 6-8 weeks to see what works for me. Quick update: Finished the moisturizer and overall was happy with how my skin felt. Less so about the eye gel and anti-aging serum. Didn't see any noticeable improvements in either area. The face wash has been fine; lightweight enough to use every day and not dry my skin, but the scrub was a total dud. Compared to the Kiehl's face scrub for men, which is my go-to pre-shave wash, the Lumin scrub had no grit.
Feedback
Cancelling the subscription was a pain and it felt like it was intentionally designed that way. I wasn't ready to commit to Lumin (was still just starting my trial) and so I cancelled the subscription via the website and it took multiple tries before I was able to clear everything out. It's non-intuitive and I get that they want people to keep their subscriptions, but making the cancellation process on the website overly complex is a bad way to do that. What's worse is that after cancelling on the website, somehow the entire subscription still renewed and I was told that I could pay for shipping and send everything back. Not a great customer experience and it's made me much less likely to renew the subscription after the trial run.
